- Chapter 105 - Please Be Quiet And Take Off Your “Something” Chapter 105
“Can I pick a romantic comedy?”
“Alright.”
“But you won’t be alright, Mr. President.”
“I’m telling you it’s okay.”
“This movie’s reviews are bad, and the director’s previous work is…”
“So which is it, do you want to watch it, or not even over your dead body?”
“…You really do not mind anything? Really?”
With that facial expression you’re making?
“If you think this garbage movie looks fun, it is fine.”
“……”
As if she would! The overall rating was around 5~6/10, and as for the critics’ rating, it barely exceeded 3. Every single review already commented on how cringy the movie was. Na-Yool got what she wanted, but she was not sure to be able to stomach it.
But Si-Jin was dead set on it, and Na-Yool eventually chickened out.
“…I probably won’t.”
“Then why do you ask?”
She most likely wanted to test him. Did Si-Jin really mean it? Or, once at the theater, could he truly keep in check his occasional sour face due to wasting his time? Since he himself said it was fine and that all is good as long as she likes it?
Waves of questions swayed her mind. It was all the same content, but she was confused. She felt like shoving an absolutely awful movie right to his face. Like an unconscious urge to pick a fight for no reason by asking “Is this really alright?!”.
And also, the desire to not do it at all.
Na-Yool spoke up by openly ignoring his question.
“…I will pick something else.”
Truth is, she wanted everything to be perfect. Even if nighttime after working late did not offer many dating options, and even if it was something as trivial as watching a movie… She at least wanted to avoid as much as possible anything that could undermine their relationship.
“Is a thriller okay?”
“Sounds good.”
“The movie with the best review right now is a thriller. It’s a Korean movie…”
Not that he will be interested anyway, Na-Yool thought as she glanced at Si-Jin, only to see that he was listening more seriously than she expected.
It occurred to her that maybe what she hears and sees may not be everything. She briefly described the movie, and Si-Jin scantily agreed to watch it. He did not sound insincere at all.
“…This is our first date.”
Maybe that is why Na-Yool unconsciously blurted these words.
First unaware of what she herself mumbled, she then lost her composure and blushed belatedly. As for Si-Jin, he remained silent for a moment, then nodded.
Along with such a short affirmative “That’s right”.
Silence fell in the car again. In the midst of it, Na-Yool was trying to complete the reservation, but it seemed that Si-Jin had not used this app before so there was no registered payment information.
She naturally took out her card from her wallet. No sooner she did so than Si-Jin snatched the phone from her hands while looking straight ahead.
“Why are you paying?”
“It’s not much—”
“There’s no need.”
He cut her off and tossed the phone into the back seat while smoothly turning the steering wheel with his other hand. Na-Yool threw him a stunned look, which Si-Jin threw back just the same as if she was the astonishing one.
“Why are you looking at me like this?”
“We will watch it together, you know. You, and me too.”
“I know.”
“It is not that expensive anyway.”
“Didn’t you say paying 10,000won to watch a movie was expensive?”
“Because that was for one on TV…! This and that are different. I am not that poor!”
“I got it.”
Si-Jin cursorily nodded his head and most likely did not get it. Na-Yool scoffed dumbfoundedly.
“It’s really not much. I can afford it, trust me.”
As soon as she untimely boasted about her ability to earn money, she shook her head in disapproval. How could she brag about having the economic power to buy 2 movie tickets for her employer who drives a 200-million-won car!
She felt ridiculous, however, Si-Jin did not seem to share the feeling at all. His answer was still perfunctory, but it still sounded somewhat sincere.
“I know.”
“Then why does it matter whether I pay for it or not?”
She did not particularly want to act complacent. After all, it would not put her on an equal ability level as him even if she did. To begin with, she did not think much about it when she took out her wallet. She simply intended to pay for the tickets since there was no payment info… And she genuinely thought that it would not matter who pays for such a small amount anyway—or rather, it seemed so natural to do so that she did not even ponder over it.
And did he not say it was a waste of time? Even sugarcoated in a ‘for you, it’s ok’, the meaning was still the same. For her sake, he was doing something he does not like, so obviously…
“You do not like movies that much anyway, so if you are forcing yourself because of me, I would rather pay—”
“You don’t like me either, but you are willing to date me, after all.”
“…Sorry?”
“You’re willing to date me, so it’s only natural that I spend money. Be it 100 won or ten million won.”
“……Excuse me?”
“It looks like we are here? Get off.”
Inside the car that slowed down and stopped near the company, Na-Yool’s head was in a jumble. Setting aside the confusion of having already arrived, what was that just now?!
“… Mr, President, can it be… I…”
“I don’t want to hear it. Get off.”
This cold man, first being thankful to her for dating him, then offhandedly throwing her out the next second! Na-Yool knew it was a sort of self-defense, although Si-Jin had no idea what she had tried to say. She also took note of how cute his behavior was despite not suiting him at all.
But even if he did not cut her off, it is most likely that Na-Yool would not have come up with a proper answer. She silently twitched her lips several times. She hesitated to open the door, and her hand placed on the handle eventually came to a stop.
“What are you doing?”
“…I am not like that.”
“……About what?”
“Doing this kind of thing with a man I hate… I could never. Never. I can’t even stand their fingertips grazing me.”
“……”
“It makes me sick, you know.”
Si-Jin was silent for a moment. Na-Yool deeply regretted that she had not turned on the car radio as soon as she got in. Despite lasting only a few seconds, the silence felt like minutes. It was time to get off, and it is not like she could either turn on the radio out of the blue.
“…I want to do it.” Si-Jin suddenly muttered in frustration as he banged his head on the steering wheel. [T/N: Yes, he means sex :D] So sudden, that the bewildered Na-Yool had to double-check.
“…Sorry?”
“When you say such a thing, I really want to do it.”
“…With what logic?…”
“Because you sound like I matter more to you than I expected.”
“……”
“When you say so, it really does.”
Na-Yool was in the middle of inwardly scorning herself for expecting logic from a pervert when Si-Jin’s face and voice turned deadly serious. As he leaned his head on the steering wheel to look sideways at Na-Yool, his gaze was earnest and deep.
“…Ev‒ even so…”
“It gives me expectations.”
“……”
“Just expecting more from you is enough to make my dick stiff.”
Na-Yool’s face blushed beyond red. This pervert… There were times when she had heard such vulgar innuendos without flushing up. No matter how obscene the words were, and no matter how lewd he behaved.
But there was no such initial statement back then.
