Please Take Care of the Baby! - Chapter 22
Find Baby
murmured Felix behind my back.
I turned quickly and looked up at him.
He breathed heavily and held the coat that had been placed on the back of the chair in my hand.
“I looked at the other room, and there was no sign of anyone entering.”
Felix came back to me at high speed.
Then he took the coat from my hand, which I had not yet thought of putting on the coat, and put it on me.
“Let’s go to the security guards just in case,”
He said, immediately holding my hand without giving me time to answer.
His hands were cold.
I followed him running at full speed.
My throat was burning, but I couldn’t slow down.
As I entered the security guards building with a heavy breath, I saw the mercenary-like Knight, whom I saw few days ago stretching.
When he heard the door open, he turned to us and looked at me and pretended to know.
“Oh, the girl from that time. Did you come because you needed help? It’s early in the morning, so the baby must be sleeping. More than that, the man next to you…is he…”
I was aware of what he was imagining while looking at Felix, but I could not respond to it.
Perhaps it was the same with Felix, who came up to the Knight in a blink of an eye and struck the table with his hands aloud.
“Has there been any reports of someone seeing a baby?” He’s blond with blue eyes.”
The Knight felt the seriousness of the situation and fiddled with his beard on his chin.
His eyes turned from Felix to me.
“Did the baby disappear then?”
“Yes.”
I nodded hastily.
The knight’s expression became more serious.
“Did you see the description of the kidnapper?”
“No, I don’t think so. There is no sign of an invasion.”
“No one came in, but the baby disappeared?”
“Yes. The little one was sick, so I slept for a while after taking care of him all night, and he disappeared in the meantime. You have to hurry up and find him. He was not feeling well, so I don’t know what will happen if it drag on. Please help us. Please find our little boy.”
I went before him in tears and stood side by side with Felix.
The expression of the knight, who had been listening seriously all along, suddenly became subtle.
It was not a face that was worried about the disappeared child, but a face of a knight interrogating a criminal.
I noticed the meaning of the gaze with his immediate words.
“I hope that doesn’t be the case, but I’m asking just in case.”
He lowered his hand, which had been touching his face, and folded his arms.
“Were you planning on abandoning the baby and report him missing, to escape punishment?”
“What’s that…?
“Hey!”
Felix slammed the table once again before I yelled and refuted the nonsense.
His body trembled, perhaps unable to control his anger.
I could also feel my hands shaking with the surging emotion.
However, the Knight in front of us showed no sign of remorse for what he said.
“It may sound too much, but isn’t it strange? You came and asked us a ridiculous question on the first day of the holiday, asking if there was a report that the baby had suddenly disappeared, and this time, as you said at that time, the child suddenly disappeared,”
He continued with a blunt face and a raised voice.
“Wouldn’t it be more reasonable to think the other
way?”
I was speechless at the moment.
Apart from being angry at his words, I couldn’t say anything.
Because, this situation was completely ridiculous from his point of view.
Even I don’t know why the little one disappeared, and why he appeared.
But whether he believes it or not, something that seems impossible has actually happened, and even at this moment, the little boy may be stranded in an unfamiliar place.
I wanted to pour out my anger by swearing at the Knight, but it was more important to find a little boy than that.
Felix also felt the same way, and he took a deep breath, clenching his fists on the table.
“As you say, you may think that we have abandoned the baby. Nothing will change, even if that was the case. Isn’t it?”
Felix raised his still trembling hand and hugged me around my shoulder.
“Whether suddenly disappeared or we threw him away, the baby is somewhere alone outside in this cold weather. So go and find him.”
He went at the end and murmured with his teeth clenched.
At the same time, his necklace shone.
“If you find him, please contact Berk Academy.”
The surrounding landscape changed again with dizziness.
We were standing in front of my dormitory door.
“Check just in case, whether the little boy came here,”
Felix murmured, catching his breath.
I couldn’t even ask him if he was okay.
I quickly opened the door and went inside.
“Little Boy!”
I ran straight to my room.
But there was no one in my room.
I went to the living room and Alice’s room, but I could not see the traces of the little boy anywhere.
Felix dragged my hand back out of my room and headed for his room.
It was early in the morning, so we were able to come to Felix’s room without the transparency magic.
“You stay here.”
He put me on the sofa and threatened me.
I got up from the sofa in spite of his words.
T’ll go and search for him with you.”
“I told you to stay here.”
Felix grabbed me by the shoulder with both hands and seated me down again.
“T’ll find the Kid, so you stay here.”
“No, I don’t want to.”
“Did you forget about Angus?”
The name made me reflectively stiff.
But soon I regained my composure and spoke again.
“I’ll be all right. He’s not going to come out as openly as he did when there were a lot of people.”
“That’s what you think. He’s a criminal….We don’t know whether he will think rationally or not.”
Finally, Felix told me the last reason I could never refute.
“It’s much better for me to use spatial movement magic alone than to go with you.”
That’s the end of our argument.
Felix, who saw me sitting still without answering back, stretched out his bent upper body and threatened once again.
“Don’t even think about going to your room. As I said, your room is not safe.”
I nodded softly
Felix looked at me and nodded his head.
I shouted hastily as I saw his necklace shining.
“Come back with the little boy.”
“I will.”
Felix disappeared, and when I was alone, my heart became more disturbed.
As soon as I stood up thinking I should light up the fireplace because of the cold air.
I couldn’t move as the scenery reflected in my eyes shook my heart.
Felix’s room was full of traces of the little boy playing yesterday.
Strawberries crushed by little boy, small rabbit dolls that the little boy sucking, wooden block toys, and large rabbit doll Felix bought for the kid as an apology…
“The kid loved the new doll a lot.”
It was similar to the size of his body size and felt more like a friend of the little boy, so he was obsessed with it yesterday.
The little boy held a rabbit doll in his arms and murmured, bit his ears, hugged the doll’s belly and rolled around.
I sat down on the sofa again, and clasped my arms around both knees.
I buried my face in between my legs.
Time went by so slowly.
When I played with a little boy, I always felt that the time was time too fast.
I remained as still as a stone.
Felix came back around the time when the little boy used to wake up from his nap.
Felix opened the door with a tired look on his face and said nothing.
He just shook his head slowly from side to side.
Felix led my hand to the administration room.
I went into the administrative office as he told me without even asking,
“What on earth are you doing here?”
“What’s the matter?”
An administrative staff member who saw us put on a strange face.
Indeed, it would be extremely rare for a boy and a girl to visit the administrative office together.
Felix answered on behalf of me, who was still in a daze.
“I’d like you to change the room.”
After listening to him, the staff looked even more confused.
“What do you mean by changing rooms?”
“Exactly what I was saying. I’d like to change room.
“So whose room? Apparently, you’re not asking to exchange your rooms aren’t you.?”
“I want you to move the rooms of Elena Velotte and her roommate Alice Tozman to another room.”
The staff’s purple eyes turned to me this time.
Looking blankly at me with cloudy eyes, she focused on me.
“What’s wrong with the room?”
“That’s….”
“There’s a security problem.”
Felix interrupted my words.
He explained to the strange-looking staff what had happened during the holidays, about the little boy who magically appeared on the first day and that no one knew about him, and now that he had suddenly disappeared.
The face of the staff who had heard the story became stiff this time.
She left to talk to her superiors.
Then she quickly returned and guided us to a new room.
“Professor Deros hasn’t come back yet. We will figure out the cause later and let’s change the room for
now.”
“Thank you.”
