Chapter 18: She Was Saved
The situation suddenly changed when someone interrupted the chilly scene.
Gu Feiyan wasn’t sure if she’d be able to use her Formless Poison so she immediately pressed on the small medicine cauldron to stop it from smoking while she observed the situation.
At first, Princess Huaining was curious and she squinted her eyes, but as soon as the sedan approached, she instantly recognized the young eunuchs. One of them was none other than Xia Xiaoman, the eunuch that personally serves His Highness, Prince Jun Jiuchen. In other words, the person in the sedan was none other than Prince Jun Jiuchen!
Princess Huaning was surprised and immediately blurted out, “Prince Jun? When did he return to the palace?”
Prince Jun?!
Gu Feiyan’s shock was no less than Princess Huaining’s. After all, the original owner had been in the palace for so many years, yet she had never met Prince Jun, much less seen his real face. She had actually encountered such a situation today.
According to her understanding, this prince was a special existence among the princes of Sky Flame Nation. Although he was a prince, his status and authority was the same as the crown prince. He was the ninth son of the Emperor, the eldest son of the Empress, and brother to the ten-year-old Crown Prince.
When he was born, Profound Sky Continent was still under the rule of many affluent martial arts families, the Jun Clan being one of them. They had yet to establish Sky Flame Nation. As soon as he was born, Jun Jiuchen was brought away the Great Elder of his clan and kept in seclusion to hone his martial arts. As the situation in the Profound Sky Continent drastically changed, martial arts declined, and various forces rose. The Jun Clan established their own nation, their own kingdom––Sky Flame Nation.
Later on, people gradually forgot his existence.
But he actually came back three years ago!
He was born with handsome and elegant features, both that could be described as jade and emerald. He also possessed good martial arts. It can be said that he had the means to kill a man every ten steps or so taken. He had never let a single person leave alive. Other than Jun Jiuchen’s aloof nature, he was perfect to the point of flawlessness.
On the first day of his return, the Emperor bestowed upon him the title Prince Jun, giving him the same rights as the Crown Prince. It was also rumored that the Emperor had plans to pass him the throne and not to the Little Crown Prince.
Soon, the sedan chair stopped beside Gu Feiyan.
“This servant pays his respect to His Highness, Prince Jun!”
“This servant pays her respect to His Highness, Prince Jun!”
Princess Huaining also got out of the carriage quickly. “Huaining greets Elder Brother, Prince Jun.”
Gu Feiyan looked up and saw that the curtain of the sedan was closed. She couldn’t help but be curious about the appearance of this enigmatic prince. Of course, compared to her curiosity, she was more surprised! She was absolutely certain that this prince’s timely appearance had saved her life.
The person in the sedan chair did not get off and didn’t bother to lift the curtain. He only coldly said, “All of you, rise.”
Gu Feiyan only felt that this voice sounded somewhat familiar, but she had no time to think about it. She quickly moved to the door of the sedan chair and said loudly, “Imperial Pharmacy medicine girl, Gu Feiyan, greets His Highness, Prince Jun!”
Princess Huaining didn’t want her to get up. It couldn’t be that Prince Jing didn’t want her to rise from the ground for no reason, right?
As expected, a clear and cold voice came from the sedan chair. “Rise.”
Gu Feiyan was overjoyed. She quickly stood up, lifted her scattered bang, and retreated to the side.
Princess Huaining narrowed her eyes and whispered. “Don’t you like kneeling? Alright, let’s see whether you make way for me or my carriage is faster! ”
After she finished speaking, she walked to the front of the sedan chair, wanting to say a few words of greeting, but the eunuch came forward and bowed. “This servant pays his respects to the princess.”
Princess Huaining raised her hand to signal for him to rise.
The eunuch didn’t rise to his feet. “Princess, it’s getting late. His Highness Prince Jun is about to leave the palace.”
A sly smile appeared on the corner of Gu Feiyan’s mouth. She had been waiting for this moment. In terms of status and inferiority, she, Gu Feiyan, had to give way to a noble when they met on the same path; but if Princess Huaining and Prince Jun were to collide, the princess would definitely have to give way…
