Chapter 30: Landing in Severny

The countdown ended, and the screen shifted to the game screen.

The scene in front of all the players this game shifted to the plane taking off.

The shrieking engine roared amongst the sky.

Lin Ye had the habit of pressing the M key to open the small map, checking this game’s flight route.

This flight route was going from the north to the south, starting from Severny and going all the way to Sosnova Military Base, crossing the whole map. Other than Primorsk, Novorepnoye, and some power plants, players could jump down to all the other locations with plenty of resources. This was a rather standard flight route.

Lin Ye looked at this game’s flight route and thought to himself, Would that cheater from earlier be able to blow up the plane with just one click?

Although Lin Ye never saw a cheat that could blow up the plane with one click with his own eyes, he had seen plenty of posts on internet forums about this. He was slightly worried that he would be so unlucky that he would lose the game when the plane just took off.

For safety reasons, I’ll choose Severny, Lin Ye decided after some consideration.

Immediately after leaving the plane, his ears were filled with the sound of the wind howling.

Lin Ye didn’t choose to glide forward after leaving the cabin but instead dragged the mouse down while holding the W key to fall straight down.

Due to the flight route in this game, parachuting straight down from the plane allowed him to land directly in Severny, so no gliding was needed to adjust the landing location.

Since Severny wasn’t a place with a lot of resources, there weren’t that many players in the sky who were trying to land here. Lin Ye looked around and only saw about three or five people around. This was very different from the last game where he had to fight his way out of School with difficulty.

After getting out of the cabin, he didn’t have to see those ugly muscular men who were dressed up as Harley Quinn and almost made him throw up; the parachuting experience wasn’t that bad this time.

Lin Ye controlled how he was going to land while heading towards the restaurant in Severny.

This was one of the most affluent neighborhoods in Severny and was next to a main intersection, so there was a good view of the surroundings. This was the spot Lin Ye would choose every time he landed in Severny.

In order to accelerate the landing speed, Lin Ye used the circling-around parachute technique to accelerate his landing, determined to be the first there.

There was another player that made the same decision as Lin Ye and chose to get to the restaurant in the northern district of Severny.

However, Lin Ye’s technique of landing with the parachute was better, so the black player landed more than two seconds slower than him.

After running forward to cancel the momentum from falling down, Lin Ye directly broke one of the restaurant’s windows and jumped into the main dining hall that faced the road.

Jumping into the restaurant through the floor-to-ceiling window was the shortest way to get to the guns in the restaurant; Lin Ye had planned this route ever since jumping from the plane.

Right after entering the restaurant, Lin Ye saw a black M416 automatic rifle beside a table at a corner.

Right then, the black player who wanted to fight for the restaurant with Lin Ye landed at the restaurant entrance, and he was about to barge in.

Lin Ye moved a few steps forward and picked up the M416 that spawned on the floor. There were also two packs of 60 5.56mm bullets beside it.

While Lin Ye walked towards the black player, he loaded the gun with bullets. Since he had a gun yet his opponent didn’t have any weapons as he had just landed, he should definitely suppress his opponent and clear his surrounding threats as early as possible.

However, god did not bless him in this game. While the black player ran into the restaurant from the front entrance, he was only able to find a black pan nearby after looking around.

The black player clenched his teeth and stomped his feet before leaping forward, grabbing the pan and running towards Lin Ye.

Although the pan was a melee weapon, it was still pretty strong. As long as you hit them on the head, you could kill your opponent even if he was wearing a helmet.

He raised the pan and jumped.

Lin Ye’s gun already had sparks flying out when the black player was attacking.

He tilted the head, raised his gun at his waist, and pulled the trigger.

In a split second, the bullets shot through all the defenses of the weak human body.

“Linye killed Hon-001 with an M416.”

Right when Lin Ye finished changing his magazine clips, he sprayed a barrage of bullets and instantly killed the player who tried to win against all odds using a pan.

In the game of PUBG, the damage caused by a single 5.56mm bullet from an M416 was 43 points. A player only had 100 HP points. So as long as Lin Ye shot three bullets into his opponent amongst the barrage of bullets, even if there wasn’t a headshot, this black player would be shredded to pieces.

Lin Ye calmly reloaded the bullets after shooting. Poor unlucky guy; he dared to fight my luck upon landing; he was really suicidal then.

After all, Lin Ye was still within the newcomer starter kit time period, so he was extremely lucky. He really wasn’t scared to face anyone, especially because he could pick up really good guns upon landing!

However, once Lin Ye shot using the M416, the whole Severny fell into dead silence. There was not a pimp of sound from the whole city, and no other players were shooting at each other.

It was obvious that the players who chose to land in Severny didn’t engage in battle right upon landing but chose to hide, searching for a neighborhood to gain control upon.

“The primary mission now is to clear Severny. Then, I need to find a sniper rifle,” Lin Ye decided after observing his situation.

There was a speed hack god in this game, so if he wanted to slay this god, he would have to find a sniper rifle that could kill a player with one shot.
