Chapter 23: The Dragon’s Roar, The End of Chaos
Before Alexia woke up, there would be some unknowing demi-humans in the surrounding jungle who would sneak into the farm and steal some immature cubs from the farm.
However, on the day that Alexia broke out of her cocoon, all the demi-humans who did not belong to the village disappeared.
Because this sense of danger was engraved in the depths of their souls, they could not have any ill-intentions toward this territory.
After eating, Alexia immediately lay on Joshua’s shoulder and fell asleep.
Looking at the gluttonous Alexia, Joshua could not help but gently stroke her head. He let Alexia simply cling to him as he walked out into the streets.
The streets were more peaceful than ever and everyone seemed to be following the rules!
Joshua was very surprised. Why were these people hiding from him?
But it did not take long for Joshua to understand why. It was all because of Alexia who was so close to him.
So Joshua tried to say to Alexia, “Can you try to hide your dragon presence? People are afraid to come close to me because they’re scared you’ll eat them.”
Upon hearing Joshua’s words, Alexia nodded and the dragon’s presence instantly disappeared.
After the people around him were no longer under pressure, they began to greet Joshua.
After seeing that everyone had returned to normal, Joshua left the place with satisfaction.
“So that’s how it is! Your presence as a dragon actually has such an effect on demi-humans!”
Perhaps because she did not feel comfortable leaning against Joshua’s shoulder for so long in her new form, she began to stretch from her position not long after.
Then she said to Joshua, “I feel that the surrounding forest is very chaotic. Should we intimidate them?”
Facing Alexia’s sudden words, Joshua was immediately stunned!
“You can even sense such things?”
“Of course! Because all the demi-humans are afraid of pure-blooded dragons!”
At this time, Joshua realized that she could actually hear her thoughts and he could not help but feel conflicted.
But in the end, he still said, “Alexia, can you not listen to my thoughts?
If she constantly eavesdropped, Joshua would feel very embarrassed.
After all, there were so many beautiful women in this world. Who knew when he would fantasize about them? Wouldn’t it be awkward for him as well if it were the other way around?
Just as he was thinking about it, Alexia said to Joshua, “Don’t worry. Alexia only likes Joshua. No matter what Joshua thinks, I won’t disturb you or say anything.”
Seeing that he had no way to make Alexia give up on this idea, Joshua could only helplessly give up.
“Alright! How are we going to intimidate the demi-humans in the surrounding jungle?”
Just as he finished speaking, Alexia pulled Joshua to an empty space.
In order not to damage her clothes, she took them off and placed them aside before she transformed.
After that, she turned from her half-draconic form into a small dragon and flew high into the sky with Joshua before her body slowly began to expand in size.
A loud roar reverberated throughout the entire forest. All the demi-humans who were still fighting and panicking in the surroundings stopped what they were doing. After that, they all covered their heads and scurried away.
They felt the most terrifying warning in their lives!
“If you don’t stop, then all of you will become my food!” That was what Alexia’s roar sounded like to them.
The chaos that had lasted for more than a month finally stopped under her threat.
However, what they did not expect was that Alexia’s roar had also attracted many unwanted human guests.
Although Joshua was exiled, many forces had still sent people to spy on the area to observe the situation, just in case of any sudden changes regarding Joshua.
The dragon’s roar made them very interested to know more!
This was because there were not many dragons in their entire continent, and all dragons were under the control of a single entity.
Alexia’s roar made them mistakenly believe that an unknown dragon had appeared in this undeveloped area. Soon, the news spread to all other countries.
They sent people to this undeveloped area one after another, ready to find the dragon’s home.
After ending the conflict between the various demi-human races that surrounded them, Joshua once again sent a patrol team from the village to explore the surroundings.
He asked them to search for more resources, mineral veins, magic ores, and so on…
Although this territory had developed very quickly, it was still not as developed compared to the rest of the world. It did not even have the most basic automatic tools.
Therefore, he decided to start a careful exploration of these areas after the chaos ended.
At this time, on the beach to the south of the village, a ship fell from the sky and landed on the beach.
The merchant group’s captain, Mondette, shook her fists at the sky and roared, “You bastards! I told you to be careful while flying and you even dropped me! How could you be so careless? You didn’t even open the shields!”
The person piloting the skyship immediately ran out of the cabin.
He apologized to Mondette who had fallen to the ground, “Captain, I’m really sorry! I really didn’t mean it!”
“Who would have thought that a dragon would suddenly appear in this place and it would even be a full adult one at most?”
Hearing this, Mondette immediately stood up from the deck. The first thing she did was to rub her buttocks, which had been bruised from the rough landing.
Then, she asked doubtfully, “Was it really a dragon’s roar? Are you sure you didn’t hear it wrong?”
“Of course I didn’t hear it wrong. I saw it with my own eyes through the magic lens in the cockpit! It was a huge white dragon, and its scales were glowing with a faint golden light!”
Hearing the description, Mondette immediately frowned. She had not heard of any dragon from that family having recently snuck out from the Floating Plane!
Moreover, it was a holy dragon. This kind of creature was the closest to a god, so how could it be out here in the wilderness!
Mondette immediately treated this matter as a joke. Then, she said to the crew, “Since we’ve landed, please think of a way to fix the ship!”
As she said that, one of her crew members unfurled a rope that touched the shore. Mondette grabbed the rope with one hand and immediately slid down from the deck to the beach.
Seeing that the captain was acting on her own, the crew felt very helpless.
One of them immediately put up his hands in defeat and said, “I knew you wouldn’t believe me, so I’m not going to bother pushing it. God knows why there’s a holy dragon here!”
He muttered those words and went down the deck to go to the mechanical room to repair the skyship.
