Chapter 25 A Slow Introduction
The Great Golden Tooth in the dusk seemed quieter than usual.
At this moment, the Great Golden Tooth Tavern had long closed the door. However, considering that there were guests who came back late at night, there was still a back door at the back of the tavern.
He entered through the back door and went to his room.
Youyou followed Kane, circling the room, scanning everywhere.
Kane’s body was exhausted. The day’s battle had drained his physical strength and magic.
But the wound in his shoulder still hurt. The pain kept him awake even though he was exhausted.
Lying on the bed with his head and neck against the soft pillow, he made a contented sound.
Kane watched as Youyou walked around. “What are your specific functions, Youyou?” he asked suddenly.
Hearing his master’s call, Youyou closed the scan and turned to slide over to Kane’s bedside.
The big mechanical eye stared at Kane. “Master, I was designed to help people in their work in all kinds of environments.”
A small propeller suddenly popped out of his head and pointed its claw above. ‘Regardless of heaven.’
Then he flew into the sky, and an underwater propeller and tail rudder popped out from his back. ‘Or the sea’.
“I can carry out operations to provide assistance for work. The metal parts on my body are resistant to high temperatures, low temperatures, and corrosion.”
Then, for a small display, he retracted all the parts, leaving only a propeller flying up and down in midair in the room. From time to time, he would do a difficult maneuver.
Youyou’s behavior excited Kane. Wasn’t this the robot he had dreamed of every day when he was a child? How could he not like it?
“What kind of assistance can you provide for work?” Since he said it was a work-assisted robot, assisting in work was his main function.
Kane was also extremely curious about what other abilities Youyou had.
“My soul-connecting core can store words, Image-text” eyes shot out scanning rays “to store the information for the scan so that it can be called at any time.”
can
“I can also scan space and generate a three-dimensional map.”
With that, the eye projected a three-dimensional map. From the layout of the surrounding houses and streets, it showed Kane’s entire path from the time he came out from the map.
A three-dimensional map. Kane was ecstatic.
In the dungeon exploration, there was no doubt about the importance of the map.
There was a huge difference in difficulty between a game with a map and a game without a map.
“I can also identify some plants and animals and some minerals. If similar information is stored in the database, I can also make a simple comparison.”
As he spoke, he shot a blue scanning light up and down Kane.
Then he projected Kane’s characteristic reaction.
(Human) (Soul Drive] [Magic Reaction] [Minor injury]
“It can also perform a simple detection of the surrounding environment and tell if there are harmful substances.”
“These are all the functions of Youyou, Master.”
Then he stared up at Kane.
“Youyou is really amazing. You’ll be a big help to me in the future.” Kane knocked his head.
Youyou spun on the ground at Kane’s praise. Antenna-heart shape.
Finally exhaustion overcame the pain.
A soft snore filled the room.
Seeing that his master had suddenly fallen asleep, Youyou flew to his head and reached out with her mechanical claws to cover him with a blanket.
The sky is clear.
Sunlight streamed through the window and shone directly on the figure on the bed.
The hot sun forced the figure to shed his sleepiness.
Seeing Kane get up, Youyou immediately rolled over.
“Master, someone knocked on the door looking for you this morning.” His eyes shot a blue light into the air, and a short, muscular figure appeared.
The figure projected by Youyou was the tavern owner, Great Golden Tooth Burton.
He got up. He had been so tired last night that he had suddenly fallen asleep without taking off his clothes.
He washed up and left the room.
The soreness in his body made Kane feel as if he had been transported back in time.
At that time, in order to gather magic power, he had to train hard in archery and build up a good physique. This was what he felt every morning
What a long time ago.
He arrived at the tavern hall.
Burton spotted him before Kane saw him.
“Hey, Kane, come here.” Burton waved at Kane from the bar stool.
Seeing that Burton was shouting for his friend, a tall, thin man beside him got up and left.
He didn’t forget to smile and nod at Kane as he walked past him, his eyes darting to Youyou behind him.
He came and sat down next to Burton, who offered him a glass of juice.
He handed the juice over and said, “You can’t drink wine if you’re injured. Here, drink this. The honey juice is sweet and delicious.”
Kane took it and asked in the direction of the man from earlier, “Who was that?” “He’s just a nuisance. Ignore him.”
“By the way, why did you ask me to come over?”
“Originally, I was just checking on you.” He looked at Youyou, who was following Kane. “But now I do have something to tell you. You cleared the first level of the dungeon alone?”
Burton reached for the pipe in his pocket as he spoke, but then he thought of something and put it back.
Kane pointed over his shoulder. “I did pass the first level, but I paid a price.”
“Other Explorers might be injured if they went in a group. You managed all by yourself. This small injury ain’t too much.”
He tapped his carrot-thick fingers on the bar.
“So, any thoughts of finding teammates?”
“Of course there is.” Kane looked over his shoulder. “One person is indeed too risky. The gains are good, but they’re not worth it.”
At his answer, Burton sighed. “You’re mistaken about something. One person’s difficulty is not the same difficulty as five people in a dungeon.
“The difficulty of one person was 1, and the difficulty of five was 3. However, the corresponding benefits would also increase, and the more benefits made the quantity and quality of the equipment better. “Such individuals also have more choices. The different needs of different professions maximize the benefits.”
He nodded at Kane. “That’s why the Lone Ranger seems unnecessary and stupid.”
There are such rules? It seems that I still know too little about Explorers.
In that case, Kane mused, it did make individual challenges seem unnecessary.
“But that’s not the main reason I looked for you.” The dwarf pointed to Youyou behind Kane. “That’s the main reason.”
Kane looked at Youyou with a puzzled expression.
Seeing the question on Kane’s face, the dwarf had no choice but to say, “It’s a high-intelligence magic construct. It’s still an assistant, right?”
Kane nodded.
“Then you should know how important its function is to Explorers, although it will be bound the moment it drops. But there are still many teams who are willing to let its wielder join their team even if they bring a burden with them.”
Kane understood. “So it’s very rare, right?”
“Yes, this high-intelligence magic power structure has its own uses. However, it will only drop in the dungeons of monsters like constructs and puppets. The existing assistant robots will all drop in the Red Mark Silver or the Golden Dungeon.”
After saying that, he couldn’t help but look at Kane with envy. “And you burst out in this kind of copper dungeon. I have to admire you.
“At that time, there will definitely be a newspaper office coming to understand the situation. They will expose the fact that the (Crystal Arena) can produce intelligent constructs.
“This dungeon will be unprecedentedly popular, and my business will be profitable. However, at that time, various teams will come to invite you to join them. There will be endless trouble.”
Kane listened for a long time and almost knew Youyou’s social status.
In that case, he could now lie flat and rely on Youyou to keep him.
“So there will be a lot of trouble in the future,
right?”
“Of course, but this is just a matter of happiness.”
