Chapter 31 Goblin Killer
The goblins in the arena roared continuously.
Dozens of goblins surged toward Kane and his partner at the edge of the arena, but they were blocked by invisible walls as they approached.
Squeezing and pushing against the transparent wall, they finally found an opening
But this opening was small. In this case, the goblins behind were pushing and the goblins in front staggered through.
The narrow opening could only allow one to two goblins to enter to fight with Clea inside.
Kane made a semicircle around the edge of the arena with clear plasticine, leaving only a narrow opening.
With the simple intelligence of the dungeon monster, if there was a path, he would walk it. If there was no path, he would smash it.
In a situation where the front was not completely blocked, squeezing through the only opening was inevitable.
Clea was inside, swinging her mace mechanically, smashing the goblins assembly line at the door.
The goblins who were smashed left room for those behind, and so on.
Meanwhile, Kane was firing at the distant sentries from the one-meter transparent platform.
The sentries’ arrows were blocked in the air.
This way, they would be able to deal with the many enemies, as they were outnumbered and were no match for the enemies.
Seeing that there were still goblin centurions who wanted to cut in, Kane even considerately helped them line up with spider silk.
Everyone had to be smashed and sent flying. There was no rush. One by one.
As for whether they could get up after being sent flying, that was not his concern.
With such an efficient cleanup, this wave was quickly disposed of.
This way, he could clear the monsters quickly and reduce the risk of injury.
The only flaw, or problem, was that it was a big drain on Kane’s magic. Even with his magic, he might not hold out till the last wave. Fortunately, there was still the blue potion.
He took advantage of an interval to recover his strength.
Then he waited for the next wave to continue killing monsters mechanically.
There was soon only one last wave of this process.
Kane’s magic was basically exhausted, but he had preserved his strength well.
Clea’s situation was the opposite of Kane’s.
He looked at the crystal hourglass in the sky, leaking the last of the sand grains.
Kane couldn’t help but warn her, “Clea, this is the last wave. Be careful.”
Clea shook her arm, which was already sore from swinging, and nodded vigorously.
Glimmering magic gathered and solidified. The final number of monsters was 100!
A goblin regiment consisting of 60 privates, 20 sentries, 15 thieves, and five centurions.
Seeing so many goblins, Kane dissipated the semicircular wall.
Looks like I have to fight it out.
Such walls were useless. So many goblins could crush their way in. When that happened, Kane and the others would be in danger.
He could only pull back.
After Clea felt the walls around her disappear, she instantly understood what Kane was thinking
“I’ll hold back the sentries behind these goblin soldiers. I’ll leave them to you.”
Nodding, Kane took out a bottle of blue potion and downed it.
It was watermelon-flavored.
Clea also drank a bottle of stamina potion.
“Lion Heart, Armor!”
The lion heavy armor she had used to spar with Kane appeared on her body.
But it wasn’t over.
“The glory of our fathers.”
She called out, her hand already holding a huge battle ax.
The weight of the battle ax made one think that it should have smashed people to death, not slashed them to death.
Clea swung her ax horizontally and charged at the monsters.
Kane took the lead by firing clusters of spider webs at the goblins, limiting their movements and alleviating the early stage pressure on Clea.
Then he jumped into the air and used the shoe skill to jump twice. Then he swung the spider silk and pulled himself towards the back of the monsters.
He threw a few flying daggers in the air and killed a few unlucky sentries.
The moment he landed, he took out his huge hammer and smashed the goblin sentries.
The sentries at the landing point turned into pancakes, and the other surrounding goblins were sent flying by the impact.
The smoke and dust kicked up by the impact filled the air.
In the smoke and dust, Kane kept condensing his daggers with both hands and throwing them at the surrounding sentries.
When the smoke and dust cleared, the sentries and a few bandits who had tried to sneak up on them were lying in pools of blood, and the wounds on their bodies were still spouting blood.
Looking the other way, Clea was wearing heavy armor and wielding a battle ax.
She fought fiercely with the goblins. All the goblins who tried to block her assault became fragmented pieces.
Meanwhile, the centurions could not keep up with her speed at all. Their simple combat intelligence made them disorderly and unable to organize an encirclement.
They could only swarm after Clea. Then she would find an opportunity to charge again.
In the previous battles, Clea had learned that these monsters were not intelligent. Simple, effective tactics worked very well for them.
The goblin bandits who wanted to sneak up on her from the shadows were discovered one by one by her terrifying intuition, slashed, and sent flying
When Kane cleared the sentries to come to her aid, there were already fragmented pieces of goblins on the ground.
There were only five centurions and more than 10 soldiers behind Clea.
Kane shot the spider silk to bind the legs of three goblin centurions, then bent his bow and shot at one of the remaining centurions.
Three full arrows instantly pierced the goblin centurion’s head and neck.
The running centurion went down in a cloud of dust.
With Kane’s backup, Clea turned to face the remaining centurion.
She swung her ax and sent the surrounding goblin soldiers flying.
Dragging her ax, she slashed hard at the goblin centurion. The centurion raised his machete and tried to block the attack.
This ax was the equipment that Clea had obtained when she shouted for a changeover of equipment. Running and exerting her full strength, she gave a furious shout, and the goblin centurion was split open. Stinky blood sprayed in all directions. Then she came to the goblin centurions Kane had trapped and killed them one by one.
Meanwhile, Kane used his Eagle Eyes to snipe at the goblin bandits who were still foolishly hiding in the shadows, looking for an opportunity.
As the last bandit was hit, the hourglass reversed and the bell for the end of the competition sounded.
There was another thunderous cheer from the stands. This time, with Clea’s participation, the bloodiness had increased significantly.
There were clearly more roars among the cheers.
Broken limbs turned to sand. Thunderous cheers turned to golden light.
Then the beams of light falling from the sky gathered in the middle of the arena.
It was time for the exciting opening of the chest.
As the light faded, the treasure chest in the middle revealed its true appearance.
It was still made of iron and had some simple relief sculptures on it. It looked a little more ornate than the one at the first level.
The two of them came before the treasure chest.
Kane looked at Clea and suddenly asked, “You haven’t tried it yet, have you? The feeling of opening boxes.”
“Yes.” Clea nodded vigorously.
“Try it. You might have better luck.”
Clea sat down. She was excited as she placed her hands on the box.
Gently, she opened it.
The treasure chest drifted away with the wind. Such a sudden situation left Clea at a loss.
“It’s alright. Once the box opened, it would disappear. See what comes out of it.”
There were four glowing objects on the ground.
