Red Dragon Emperor - Chapter 12
Chapter 12: Three Dragons Battle against a Mage

Jose did not want to be at the mercy of others. He squeezed out the last bit of strength in his body and struggled with all his might.
Move!
Unfortunately, the magic was unmoved by his tenacious will to live, and he failed.
Just as he was feeling hopeless, a wave of heat suddenly surged out from his heart. The heat quickly spread to every part of his body, and the binding feeling immediately disappeared.
At this moment, the magic formation was taking shape, and the humans started to relax. They seemed to be able to see the scene of selling the two young Five-Colored Dragons and splitting the money amongst themselves.
But now, Jose suddenly launched an attack as a scorching dragon flame surged out of his mouth. The dragon flame’s target was the strongest member of the enemy team — Oluke.
“No!”
Oluke was very confident in the Dragon Immobilization Spell and was focusing his attention on the Golden Dragon and the White Dragon. He certainly did not expect the Red Dragon to suddenly break free.
Caught off guard, the mass teleportation that was about to be completed was interrupted. The disorderly magic energy moved everywhere, and there was a violent energy reaction.
Bang!
With a loud bang, the guards of the Holy Altar and the three dragons were blown away by the violent magical energy shockwave.
Jose rolled a few times on the ground and quickly got up to assess the situation.
Humans did not have such a strong body and magic resistance as dragons. The flame breath had burned three of them to death, and the violent blast had sent the rest flying into the stone wall and onto the ground. Some of them lay motionless on the ground, while others struggled to get up.
There was only one person who was unharmed, and that was the red-haired mage — Oluke. The protection magic that had been triggered automatically saved him. He was only covered in dust and had messy hair.
Reality was not a game. There was no such thing as balance between classes. As long as there was enough distance, a high-level mage could defeat a group of warriors of the same level, not to mention that there were only three young dragons here who did not have the ability to cast spells.
There was no chance of winning!
Jose turned and fled. The dragon’s roar outside the cave was getting closer, so he only had to get to O’Neal to survive.
He had never thought that he would be so desperate to see O’Neal one day.
Oluke raised his staff, and an orange fireball the size of a wheel appeared out of thin air. The air around it became illusory and distorted in the heat, and the fireball shot out with a long trailing tail behind it.
Pyroblast!
The target of the pyroblast was not the running Red Dragon, but the rock wall above the cave entrance.
Boom!
There was a loud explosion that was like a grenade going off. The rock wall disintegrated in the dazzling light; stones fell down and blocked the entrance of the cave.
“We’re doomed!”
Jose looked back just in time to see the mage cast a flash spell to illuminate the cavern. Oluke stared at him with red eyes as words filled with hate and murderous intent squeezed out from between the gaps of his teeth.
“Now! No one can save you!”
The low and soft incantation turned into the melody of death. The three dragons felt their scalps tingle when they sensed the magic energy gathering.
“What… what should we do?!”
Hearing Cassie’s anxious cry and feeling the mage’s deep hatred, Jose forced himself to calm down and think of a plan. He glanced at the sealed hole, and an idea came to him. But he quickly dismissed it.
Distant water won’t quench immediate thirst!
He saw the unconscious adventurers not far away and suddenly had an idea. He grabbed the nearest adventurer and said, “Stop! If you continue to chant, I will kill him!”
Unfortunately, Oluke paused only slightly as the incantation continued.
“Don’t you care about your companion’s life?!”
The red-haired mage answered with his actions as a fireball tore through the air and came at Jose.
Jose was quick to react and threw out the adventurer in his hand. The adventurer collided with the fireball and was blown into pieces by the blinding flames.
Jose felt some kind of liquid fall over his face like rain as part of it landed on his lips. There was a metallic taste that was distinctly bloody.
The bandit, who was struggling to get up, exclaimed in disbelief when he saw his companion being blown up. “Captain?!”
“Shut up!” roared the furious mage as his face turned red. “Could they have escaped?! Let’s make sure the enemies die with them!”
The bandit’s expression changed drastically when he heard that. He looked at his teammates beside him. Other than himself and the captain, the rest of them had already lost their mobility. In a situation where they were almost wiped out, they could not care about their injured teammates indeed.
Roar!
Hearing the dragon roars coming closer and closer, he finally made up his mind. He pulled out the dagger tied to his thigh and hid in the darkness.
“Cassie! Use your dragon breath to deal with the other human! Hold on! Victory belongs to us!”
The icy dragon breath was released violently as Cassie fought with the bandit, who had now been forced to come out. One side was extremely strong, while the other was agile and swift, and it was impossible to determine who would be the victor at that moment.
On the other side, Jose and Yaligos looked at each other and separated tacitly, forming a triangular formation as they advanced towards the mage.
Physical strength was the advantage of the two dragons. The two of them hoped that through close combat, the mage would not have time to chant.
Yaligos was closer, being one step ahead of Jose. She took advantage of the mage’s immobility when chanting and leaped up. Her dragon wings flapped and struck down, but hit an invisible force field that numbed the wings.
“Mage armor!”
Jose heard his companion’s warning and then realized that the chanting of the mage was about to end. He opened his mouth to spew a raging inferno that engulfed the enemy.
Under the protection of the invisible force field, Captain Oluke was like a reef in the middle of a tidal wave. He looked to be in danger but was as steady as a rock.
Jose had never thought that his dragon breath could kill the enemy. His goal was simply to use the dragon fire to interfere with the enemy’s vision and increase the probability of avoiding the magic attack.
While maintaining his breath, he kept moving left and right to increase the difficulty of aiming.
A moment later, his caution saved his life.
Some sharp stone spikes flew through the conical dragon breath, their tips burning red.
Jose felt a chill between his eyebrows and quickly turned his head to avoid a spear. The scale armor on his forehead was cut, but no blood flowed out. The flesh on the wound had been scorched by the red-hot stone spikes.
It was as if they were dancing on the tip of a blade. The two dragons tried their best to interfere with Oluke’s casting, but their efforts were futile.
In fact, the two dragons’ tactics were correct. Unfortunately, they were too weak, so weak that they could not even break through the invisible force field around the Advanced Mage. In other words, before they could even shatter the force field, it would be restored by the mage.
But their efforts were not in vain. They had succeeded in buying time for the arrival of reinforcements. The two dragons had already felt the overbearing draconic aura emanating from O’Neal. He was getting closer and closer.
Boom!
When the heavy object landed, the entire cave trembled.
The three dragons were ecstatic. They could hear the sound of digging outside, signifying that O’Neal had finally arrived.
On the other hand, the red-haired mage and bandit looked to be in despair. Even though they seemed mighty in front of the young dragons, they could be killed with a dragon breath by an adult dragon.
Boom!
There was a sound that was even louder than the Black Dragon landing on the ground. Everyone in the cave heard the angry roar of the Black Dragon. Then, the energy waves from the magic explosion spread out, and the entire cave trembled.
O’Neal encountered a powerful enemy?!
The three dragons felt their hearts skip a beat.
The tables had turned as Captain Oluke turned ecstatic. “The alliance army! It’s the alliance army!”
The energy fluctuations were becoming more and more frequent, and the intensity was also increasing.
Both sides in the cave realized something — the final battle had begun!
However, the decisive battle between the Human Alliance Army and the Red Nest would not affect the sealed cave for the time being. The three dragons and the mage glared at each other.
Now, only the victor had the chance to walk out of this cave.
“Damned young dragons! No one can save you now!”
