- Chapter 23 - Regret it Yourself ~Be Happy with the Saint you Chose~ Chapter 23

“Your Highness Freddie, what do you think you’re doing!?”
As I spoke with Prince Freddie, Ryan breathlessly rushed towards me.
Since Prince Freddie had begun engaging in a conversation with me, the number of spectators had only increased. As of the present, it was as if the full student body was listening to us. However, the moment Ryan arrived, they made a path for him. Soon, he was by my side.
“Daisy, are you okay?”
Ryan asked me with concern.
“Yes, I merely wished for the happiness of His Highness and Lady Lula.”
“Haha, well, that’s important.”
When I answered with a smile, Ryan laughed at my words.
But then, he gave a stern look to Prince Freddie.
“I’ll clarify with Daisy later, but someone told me that Prince Freddie approached her, saying that you came to pick up the pitiful Daisy who had been engaged by a royal decree. I’ll be formally filing a complaint to the royal family under the name of the Duke of Sommerset, so please be prepared.”
With so many eyewitnesses and a formal complaint from the duke family, would Prince Freddie even get to keep his position?
Prince Freddie, who went pale, simply looked dumbfounded at Ryan.
“No, I…” He muttered inaudibly.
That was my first-time seeing Prince Freddie in such a state. Before, he was always full of confidence.
“Your Highness Freddie, you’re free to regret letting go of Daisy. But no matter how much you regret, just know that she’ll never go back to you.”
Unimpressed, Ryan looked straight at Freddie and spoke.
Meanwhile, Prince Freddie seemed about to collapse.
Upon see Prince Freddie like that, I discovered that I… felt nothing in particular.
“Don’t you agree, Daisy?”
Ryan stared at me with an adoring expression—one the complete opposite of his previous expression.
At that, the surrounding girls swooned while my cheeks heated up.
“Yes, I shall spend the remainder of my life with Lord Ryan.”
I gazed at Ryan
For some reason, as the boys erupted in cheers, Ryan became flustered.
Then, before I knew it, the entire courtyard was overflowing with applause.
“This is…?”
Ryan smiled at me who was confused.
“I’m sure everyone is congratulating us.”
…Are they congratulating us? But, this many…?
I felt embarrassed, but also touched. As Prince Freddie’s fiancée, I had attended many parties, but that was my first time being genuinely blessed by many.
“Daisy, the sky is clear today.”
Ryan’s words made me look up.
The deep blue sky was accompanied with groups of clouds.
“Under this blue sky, you’re basking in the sunshine while being celebrated by everyone.”
“…Surely, I’ll cherish the blue sky from now on…”
Ryan laughed at my words.
“Together, let’s strive to discover more of your favorite things.”
I didn’t even doubt that I’d fall in love with everything I’d see with Ryan, everything I’d eat with him, or everything I’d listen to with him.
…When I was with Ryan, my world was filled with everything I loved.
…I’m very happy.
Until now, I had only lived while abiding to the words of my father and Prince Freddie.
Suddenly, my life was filled with joy and anticipation.
After waking up from two months in a coma, I no longer cared about what’d happen to either my father or Prince Freddie, or whether they’d regret it like Ryan told me.
…Because for the first time ever, my life was brilliant.
From now on, I’d live for myself—
—Together with Ryan who gave me hope to live.
