The twins seemed to know their parents were leaving. When Zi Yi wanted to put down Guoguo, Gugoguo pouted her little lips.

Tangtang also grabbed Lu Jingye’s clothes and refused to let go.

Mrs. Lu felt speechless. “Just look at them. The twins are just over a month old, but they try to stop you from leaving home.”

Zi Yi kissed Guoguo on the cheek again and said, “From now on, your grandmother will watch you during the day and Mom and Dad will come home at night.”

Second Master Lu came back sweating from his morning exercise wanting to carry Guoguo.

Guoguo unexpectedly buried her head into Zi Yi’s chest. Second Master Lu promptly felt jealous at the sight. “Guoguo, does this mean you don’t like me anymore either?”

Guoguo moved her head out and looked at him.

Mrs. Lu pushed Second Master Lu and said, “You’re covered in stinky sweat. I’m sure Guoguo doesn’t want you to carry her. Go wash up before we eat breakfast.”

Second Master Lu nodded and went to wash his face.

After Second Master Lu was done washing his face, the four of them sat at the dining table.

Tangtang and Guoguo were also placed in the crib.

The crib was right by the side, so as Zi Yi ate breakfast, she played with the twins.

Second Master Lu said, “If anything happens after you get there, be sure to tell the higher-ups about it and ask for help. Don’t try to settle everything on your own.”

“Dad, I got it. Don’t worry.”

Second Master Lu naturally trusted them. He pondered and said, “After I’m done making arrangements in a couple of days, I will go over to the aviation research base as well.”

He asked Zi Yi, “Little Yi, can we go for training at our age?”

Second Master Lu hoped he could do something to contribute. He also harbored fantasies about outer space and hoped he could travel into space one day.

Zi Yi pondered and said, “If you want to go for training, you can do it with the candidates who failed the test. They are undergoing very intense training, so I’m sure you’ll like it.”

He nodded on hearing what Zi Yi said. “Okay then. We can decide when we get there.”

After they were done talking, Lu Jingye asked while standing by the side, “If dad is going to the aviation research base. Then what about Mom?”

Second Master Lu froze briefly on hearing this.

Mrs. Lu stood by the side nonchalantly. “What about me? I hardly see him already anyway. When Yiyi is done making the space shuttle, he can come home anytime he likes. It won’t be any different from him working in the capital. Moreover, I have to look after the twins now. Do I look like I have time for him?”

Zi Yi and the others spent two months at the aviation research base. During this time, they only left the base when Dou Yurui and Dou Xiangling got married. Other than this, they went home every night to sleep with the twins.

It seemed as though they could sense their parents were staying in today, so they woke up first thing in the morning.

Guoguo sat there gurgling.

Zi Yi had not slept in for a long time. But not before long, she was woken up by Guoguo’s babbling. She pushed Lu Jingye in annoyance. “Make your daughter keep the noise down.”

Zi Yi currently had trouble opening her eyes. Lu Jingye smiled looking at her. He got up from bed, got changed, and picked up Guoguo.

Guoguo promptly gave him a toothless smile.

Lu Jingye could not help smiling back at her. He said softly to Guoguo, “Your mother still wants to sleep. After I wash up, I’ll come back and carry you out, okay?”

Guoguo gave him a toothless smile again.

Lu Jingye put her down. He paused and said to Tangtang, “Tangtang, I’m going to take your sister downstairs. Why don’t you continue sleeping with your mother?”

Tangtang also reached his hands out.

Lu Jingye carried Tangtang and walked up to the bedside. He said to Zi Yi first, “Little Yi, Tangtang is on the bed, so be careful not to squash him.”

“Uh huh,” mumbled Zi Yi. She automatically lifted a corner of the blanket and Lu Jingye placed Tangtang beside her.

Tangtang genuinely did as he said. After placing the baby beside Zi Yi, Zi Yi carried him. The moment she did, he closed his eyes and curled up in her arms sleeping.

Lu Jingye looked at the two of them for a while. Guoguo kept babbling in annoyance hurrying him along, so he finally washed her face and hands first. Once he was done, he quickly washed up and carried the baby out of the room.

Mrs. Lu and Anya were downstairs in the living room.

Anya had been going to the aviation research base as well, working as a doctor. She was planning to take a break for a couple of days as well.

When they saw Guoguo, Mrs. Lu smiled and waved at her. “Guoguo, come to Granny.”

Guoguo unexpectedly ducked into her father’s arms.

Mrs. Lu smiled and scolded her. “You’re heartless. Do you know that your parents aren’t going to work today? Is that why you refuse to let me carry you?”

She put on a sad look. “I’m sure Guoguo doesn’t like me, right? I’m so sad.”

Guoguo reached her head out from Lu Jingye’s embrace and smiled at her.

It seemed as though Guoguo was trying to comfort Mrs. Lu.

Mrs. Lu could not resist smiling.

“I know you’re trying to make me happy.”

She asked Lu Jingye, “Where is Tangtang?”

“I told him to continue sleeping with Little Yi.”

“Haha! Tangtang is such a thoughtful young man. I’m sure he’s sleeping as you said.”

“Uh huh.”

Lu Jingye carried Guoguo and sat on the couch. Guoguo laughed happily as Anya played with her.

Mrs. Lu felt so happy inside that she could not stop smiling. She asked Lu Jingye, “Since it’s your day off, why don’t you visit Zi Yi’s grandfather?”

Lu Jingye nodded. “We’ll go after breakfast. We happen to be going to Metropolis University today as well. The Futuristic School of Technology is ready. It’s the perfect time for Little Yi to select some candidates while we have the time.”

“Sounds good.” Mrs. Lu said to Anya in concern, “Anya, don’t go anywhere during your break. Just stay home with me. You haven’t seen Yunxiao in a very long time, so we should make him come back at night. He’s simply terrible. Once he started training, he completely forgot about his wife.”
