Golden Agent of the Adonis (62)
The fans finally got their phones back as they immediately couldn’t help but post lengthy texts in their respective artist’s celebrity pages, describing the things that they saw on the set. Even so, the fans knew better than to describe the activities in detail. If some plots were revealed in advance, those recordings would be cut off by the editing team of the program. In order to make sure that everyone gets to watch a good show, all the fans mutually knew how to pay close attention to the amount of details that were eligible to be disclosed. Should any news that tethered on the borderline of being a spoiler be found, other fans would be quick to advise the poster to delete them.
Usually, the posts would be talking about how their favorite artists were handsome today— artist A would have a cute face, B had very fair skin and C’s legs were really long, etc. Most of the other fans who couldn’t come to the scene were all eagerly waiting for the fans on set to make posts about their artist’s good looks. Surprisingly, apart from posting about their idols, almost all of these fans brought up Fang Zhenxuan as well!
[Ahh, Fang Zhenxuan is so, so handsome! Let me say it responsibly: he is not photogenic, not photogenic, not photogenic! The reason is because he looks 100 times better in person than in pictures!]
[Fang Zhenxuan tempted me today. I can’t hold back my words— when you watch the show, you need to prepare tissues. Trust me, you’re all going to have nosebleeds!]
[What kind of celestial being is Fang Zhenxuan? His body proportions are just too perfect! That skin, that face, thefigure, those long legs, those hands, ahhh! For Fang Zhenxuan, I can do my best to support both artists, so I’m going to climb the wall! Sisters, please don’t hit me; it’s not the fact that I’m easily swayed, it’s just that Fang Zhenxuan is truly mesmerizing!]
[I won’t talk about how handsome Fang Zhenxuan is, so I’ll just talk about how good he is at playing. He’s not at all reserved when he’s with his seniors and he’s good at answering questions. For me , I think he’s a definite diamond in the rough. Believe me, you must watch the show when it starts broadcasting!]
Chu Xiang felt the enthusiasm of the fans when she was at the scene. As Chu Xiang got into the car, she opened her Weibo app and checked the news. Sure enough, there were posts praising Fang Zhenxuan in several MC’s celebrity pages. Fans who haven’t been there were a bit reluctant to believe those claims, but with so many praising his looks and skills, there was no reason for them to doubt their own fandoms!
Soon, these posts were shared all over, including into Fang Zhenxuan’s own celebrity page, stunning the Legislative Legion. Why did the other MCs have fans supporting them in-person on set, but their own Xuanxuan didn’t receive anything on a similar scale???
Judging from the many compliments in the posts, they could tell how good Fang Zhenxuan’s performance was. In the end, if his fans weren’t supporting him when he was doing so well, what was the point of being in the fanbase?!
The Legislative Legion immediately held an emergency meeting amongst the major fan groups, agreeing that they must go to the scene to support Fang Zhenxuan next time.
This program was then filmed and broadcast at the same time. Generally, after 3 to 4 episodes were edited, the 1st episode would start being broadcasted. All 12 episodes of the series were filmed in one consecutive timeframe, so for the past 20 days, Fang Zhenxuan was always with the other 5 MCs.
During the break, Fang Zhenxuan chatted with them naturally, laughing all over the place. Although he had just graduated from a tertiary-level institution, he was very mature at heart. He had worked many jobs and accumulated a lot of experience from them. Hence, he could converse with them very well and get acquainted with everyone as quickly as possible.
During the filming of the 2nd episode, the program team recorded a certain clip in advance. They looked for Fang Zhenxuan in private and provided him a special identity, giving him the task of being the traitor. For that episode, he would have to go through brain-wracking scenarios, deceive the others and betray them in order to win the entire game by himself.
The era assigned to them in this issue was set in the ancient times. Fang Zhenxuan’s outfit was a moon-white traditional hanfu(3) embroidered with brocade patterns as he held a folding fan. Upon seeing this, Chu Xiang had an idea and immediately discussed it with the program team and the crew of ‘The Legend of Consort Jing’. She suggested that they dressed Fang Zhenxuan as his character in the drama, Zhou Yanjun, to stir another wave of heat in the future when the episode aired.
(T/N: Ancient Chinese traditional clothing and it usually involves long robes that are made to look ethereal. It’s very beautiful, Google it for reference)
Dressing up was nothing more than a trivial matter, so both sides were very happy to cooperate with her as it was easy to reach an agreement. This was why Chu Xiang seemed more trustworthy to the crew— her talents as an agent were truly shining.
The plot of this episode resembled a case that needed solving like kids would a puzzle set. Besides, it also contained small elements of an escape room. Among them, there were links to find fragmented maps that needed to be pieced together, levels where a Klotski puzzle had to be solved to unlock the door and also portions where all 6 of the MCs needed to work together in order to create a solution.
Fang Zhenxuan did not show any flaws from start to finish and was clear of suspicion the entire time. He was good at analyzing and looking for clues. Plus, his words carried weight in the team of 6. He led them to find two map fragments and was also the main force who unlocked the doors by solving the Klotski puzzle. With all those contributions, everyone else believed that he was one of them.
