Retrograde Gaming - Chapter 53
Chapter 53: A New Place
Leaving aside the secret passage, Li Huailin first searched the items dropped by the boss. Unfortunately, Li Huailin didn’t have any luck in finding the land title.
Fire Guard Chest Armor (Silver): Chain Armor, Physical Defense 15-20, Magic Defense 10-10, Strength +14, Fire Resistance +20. Required Level: 15, Class: Warrior, Knight. Set (5/6).
Although the fifth piece of armor was the most difficult one to get, this Blue-level chest armor was basically useless to Li Huailin. The only good thing to take note was that his Fire Resistance had now reached over 90. However, he was still missing the helmet as the last piece of the set.
Red Flame Heavy Sword (Silver): Two-handed Sword, Attack 45-60, Strength +20, Constitution +10. A 33% chance of additional 45 Fire Damage points. Required Level: 20, Class: Warrior, Knight, Hunter.
Even though this sword wasn’t bad… Li Huailin still had to sell it. He also found the Fire Essence that Martin wanted.
“Is the land title here or not?” Li Huailin couldn’t help and complain out loud. He had no idea whether he could find a land title here at all, but it seemed that he could still go deeper into this mysterious realm. He wondered if there was another boss waiting for him.
After thinking to himself, he walked to the secret passage and found that it was actually quite long. Although the lighting was horrible and was dark inside, but at the end of the passage, you could see a bit of light, this meant that the passage had an exit.
Li Huailin was a bit confused as he thought that he was supposed to take the Fire Essence back to Martin. Why was there another exit?
At this time, Li Huailin suddenly realized that he wasn’t in a hurry at all to finish the hidden request, in fact, he could let somebody else complete the request. After all, the reward wasn’t tempting to him at all.
Li Huailin believed that Night Flyer should be interested in this type of quest, this was why he decided to check the secret passage first.
Since he wasn’t afraid of dying at all, Li Huailin bent down and entered without worries.
The space within was very limited. While crouching on the ground, it took Li Huailin almost ten minutes to get to the exit. Fortunately, in this game, Li Huailin didn’t have to suffer from the ache.
“I’m finally out!”
The moment when Li Huailin climbed out of the passage, the area had suddenly become much brighter. This place was completely different from the Lava Crack. With the sunlight being blocked by heavy layers of ash, the sky over this place was even dimmer and darker than that of the Lava Crack.
“Bang!”
The loud sound came from behind Li Huailin’s back. After turning around, Li Huailin realized that the cave he was in earlier had just collapsed. It must’ve been a part of the plot as the cave seemed rather steady when Li Huailin was in it.
With no way to go back, Li Huailin checked around the place. Behind him was a steep mountain cliff. Within his sight, there were more mountains that connected to each other. The place where he was standing seemed to be a basin, and the ground was still the same black wasteland, the same as in Lava Crack. However, the cracks here were deeper and bigger. The magma boiling around him looked even hotter.
Li Huailin wondered if this place was also part of the Mysterious Realm. All of a sudden, his eyes caught an altar.
Since there were no wandering monsters around, Li Huailin easily dashed towards the altar. When he approached it, he found that a huge magic circle was floating in the air over a big magma pool. Only a narrow stairway connected the magic circle to the ground. In Li Huailin’s eyes, this design definitely didn’t comply with mechanics principles.
The magic circle had a radius of about ten meters and was surrounded by a number of black pillars about more than ten meters tall. Lots of strange characters and patterns were drawn on the magic circle as well as the pillars. Upon taking a closer look, Li Huailin couldn’t recognize any of them.
This place did look quite magnificent, and yet the fact remains that Li Huailin had no idea what this place was used for. The only thing he knew was that this place was definitely hiding something.
After checking around, Li Huailin immediately found the treasure in hiding. In the middle of the magic circle, there was a sword. Judging from the unique shape and red glow, Li Huailin could tell that the sword must be extraordinary.
Li Huailin guessed that this was probably the reward for clearing the Mysterious Realm. In order to check the sword’s stats, he reached out his hand.
Before his hand could reach the sword, a system notice popped out.
System Notice: You found a heavy sword giving out the light of flame in the middle of the magic circle. Do you really want to touch it?
Li Huailin found this system notice quite strange. Maybe something dangerous was waiting for him.
However, Li Huailin wasn’t afraid to die at all. Without any hesitation, Li Huailin chose “Yes”. The moment his hand touched the sword, a green number popped out over his head:
+10,000
System Notice: You touched Cyruda, the Divine Sword of Fire. Your body is burning because of the sword’s power. Health Points +10,000.
“Sh*t! This thing is a trap! Other players would have been instantly killed!” Li Huailin exclaimed.
After seeing the damage the sword caused, Li Huailin believed that this sword must’ve been very powerful. But since it couldn’t hurt him at all, Li Huailin pulled up his sleeves and was determined to pull it out.
The moment both of Li Huailin’s hands grabbed the handle, he immediately felt the heat. After having spent so much time here in this place, Li Huailin had gotten used to it.
“Come on!”
Even though Li Huailin used his full strength, the sword showed no signs of budging.
System Notice: You touched Cyruda, the Divine Sword of Fire. Your body is burning because of the sword’s power. Health Points +10,000.

…
…
“Damn! You’re just a sword and you’re pissing me off! You ARE coming out today!” Li Huailin didn’t want to give up.
It seemed that his impertinence actually pissed off the sword since green numbers started to pop out over Li Huailin’s head crazily.
“Why is this fu*king thing not moving?!”
Once Li Huailin realized that the sword didn’t even move an inch, he stopped.
At this time, a deafening voice suddenly came from the sky, it asked in great loftiness, “Who is it?! Who is the rascal that just interrupted the seal on the divine sword?!”
Li Huailin was very surprised. When he looked up, an old man in a full set of armor landed in front of him.
