Retrograde Gaming - Chapter 56
Chapter 56: Rumor
“Huailin, have you left the Mysterious Realm?” Red Moon asked, “That was fast, what did you find over there?”
“Yeah, I’m in the main city now,” Li Huailin replied. “There was a boss fight and I got some useless equipment. Before I sell them, do you ladies want to come and take a look?”
“Alright. Give us a moment, we were just farming.” Since Red Moon was curious about the equipment dropped in the Mysterious Realm, she immediately agreed.
“I’ll be waiting at the bank,” said Li Huailin.
When Red Moon and the rest of the ladies arrived, Li Huailin had taken off his Fire Resistant 5-piece armor and put on his signature plain cotton clothing. In his hand was still the same old Level 10 Bronze sword. Red Pennant was also here even though she basically never talked to Li Huailin. And there was also Red Face Drinks Water, who could easily give Li Huailin a headache.
“Brother-in-law!” Red Face Drinks Water rushed towards him and held his arm. “This is so unfair! A Mysterious Realm sounds like so much fun. You should’ve taken me there. Grinding is so boring…”
“You wouldn’t be able to enter there,” Li Huailin said.
Actually, he didn’t even know how he got to the place. He simply assumed that Red Face Drinks Water wouldn’t be able to bear the heat of the magma.
“What did you find?” Red Moon came over and asked him with a smile.
“Take a look at it yourselves. Everything’s here.” Li Huailin sent Red Moon a trade request and gave her all the equipment he got, including those he got from the World Destruction guild.
Red Moon was surprised by the sheer number of the items. There were 6 to 7 Blue-level equipment and more than 10 Pieces of Green-level equipment.
“You can find these everywhere in a Mysterious Realm?” Red Moon couldn’t help and be shocked.
“Not all of them are from the Mysterious Realm, a lot of these came from my friends,” Li Huailin continued. “The Mysterious Realm isn’t a very pleasant place and all I found there was this set of Fire Resistant armor. Here, take a look.”
“It isn’t bad! The stats are good and there’s even a set bonus.”
Red Moon put them on and activated the 4-piece bonus.
“Unfortunately, a piece is missing. If it was a full set, it would’ve been very valuable,” Red Moon commented.
“How much do you think I can get for this?” Li Huailin asked her.
“On the market, a piece of Blue equipment is usually worth about 5 Gold Coins, and a Green equipment is about a single Gold Coin. However, they’re short in supply right now. You should also take into account that good stats can easily raise the price, a set of armor is usually even more valuable.”
Speaking of money, the expert, Red Dust Misty Rain, took a step forward.
“You have 7 pieces of Blue and 17 Green equipment. You can sell them for at least 50 Gold Coins. As Red Moon said, the set is missing one piece. Otherwise, the price would’ve gone much higher.”
“Wow, that’s a lot of money.” Red Face Drinks Water was impressed. Usually, she wasn’t very sensitive to money.
“Huailin, are you going to sell all of these?” Red Moon asked.
“Yeah, I don’t really need good equipment right now, and I guess the price will go down once everyone reaches a higher level. I might as well dump them in the market and make a fortune.” Li Huailin continued speaking, “Can you sell them for me? I still need to meet one of my friends.”
“I can help you with it. I just wonder if I can get paid.” Red Bloodstain stepped forward. She had already helped Li Huailin sell stuff once.
“You ladies go and pick the equipment you need first, you can sell the rest afterward.” Li Huailin momentarily thought about it before making a decision.
“Really?” Red Bloodstain was very surprised as she didn’t expect Li Huailin to be so generous.
“It’s alright as long as the guild can start producing Fountain of Life Potions as soon as possible. Handling the World Destruction guild turned out to be trickier than I thought, but I’m still trying to find another way. At the least, we can always go and buy an alchemy recipe using the money.”
The most important item that Li Huailin wanted was still the Fountain of Life Potion. With a steady production of it, Li Huailin wouldn’t have to worry about leveling up anymore.
“Well, I’ll also try and see what I can do — that’s right! Huailin, l don’t want to sell these Fire Resistant items now,” Red Moon told him.
“Oh, what’s the matter?” Li Huailin asked.
“I know a dungeon where the Fire Resistance attribute matters a lot. Since we have never been there before, I can ask around to see if we can go. If we can enter, these equipment will be of great help to us. You have no idea how hard it is to buy items with special resistance attributes right now. Big guilds are fighting crazily for them. Since this set of equipment can add more than 100 Fire Resistance, pioneer raiders would be craving for it so badly. Although this set of armor doesn’t add constitution, in a fire-filled dungeon, we won’t be afraid of fire attribute monsters anymore!” Red Moon knew a lot about the dungeons in the game, and therefore, she was a little excited.
“Oh, I see.” Li Huailin nodded. “You make the decision, I trust you.”
“Now I’m rich! I’m wearing green all over! Finally, I can get rid of my white equipment,” Red Bloodstain said with a smile.
Indeed, because most players killed by Li Huailin from the World Destruction guild were close-combat players, especially the Rogues, Red Bloodstain was the one who could find the most useful equipment here among them all. Without any doubt, equipment dropped by a big guild was so much better than what Red Bloodstain was wearing right now.
“Bloodstain…” Red Moon smiled. She knew that Red Bloodstain was just joking and wasn’t going to take away a full set of equipment. However, in case that Li Huailin would misunderstand her, Red Moon started explaining, “Huailin, she’s just joking. Red Bloodstain won’t…”
“You don’t need to explain to me, leader. Like I said, I leave these all to you.” Li Huailin didn’t really care about the equipment. “Take whatever you need, ladies.”
“Pervert, did you recently piss off the wrong person?” Red Dust Misty Rain suddenly asked him.
“Uh? Why?” Li Huailin asked as he found this question was very unexpected.
“They were mentioning stuff in the guild… that some people are saying bad things about you on the forum,” Red Dust Misty Rain told him.
“Uh?” Li Huailin was confused. “Forum? What forum?”
“Things like… like you’ve been caught harassing women; that you’re a threat to the safety of the city; that you don’t respect other players and casually kill new players; that you rob other people in the game; that you do illegal fundraising; and that you have evil intentions of doing bad things to your neighbor’s little piglet…” Red Dust Misty Rain listed what she saw out.
“Sh*t! Those are nothing but slander! You ladies have to believe me!” Li Huailin exclaimed. He immediately realized who was behind all these. It must’ve been the World Destruction guild! Since they couldn’t beat him, they were now throwing these filthy slanders at him everywhere. No wonder those players were making strange comments regarding him earlier in the Warrior’s guildhall.
“Of course I do,” Red Face Drinks Water immediately reassured him.
“Although you were never a good person in my eyes, I also don’t think you’re that bad,” Red Dust Misty Rain agreed.
“You don’t need to worry about anything, we trust you.” Red Bloodstain smiled.
“I’ll contact a forum administrator and let him deal with this…” Red Moon said.
“That’s right! Even though these things are basically all true, they can’t let everybody know on the forum!” Li Huailin said in a tone filled with indignation.
“What? It’s true?” The ladies couldn’t believe their ears.
“Sorry, my mistake. I’m not interested in my neighbor’s piglet. That part is pure slander! Shame on them! That’s not me!” Li Huailin explained angrily.
“…”
