Chapter 39: Hero Saving the Damsel in Distress in the Middle of the Night

Yu Minglang stood by the window feeling troubled.

His mother came over. Her heart ached for him but dared not say anything. She left without saying a word. Two hours later, she returned and brought soup for him. The soup smelled suspiciously weird.

The soup remained by the window untouched.

In the morning, mother Yu wanted to come and meet the girl ‘accidentally’, but was to no avail. Mother Yu thought, something must be wrong.

Furthermore, her daughter-in-law reported that he bought many things but did not send them to the lady straight but asked Hai Zhao to send them for him. They were holding a few gas barrels. One of them kept watch, the others looked around.

Right at this spot, there was no one on the street and there were no street lights. There were only lights from the houses and the reflection of light from the moon.

The man who they called brother Fa was half naked. There was a big dragon tattoo on his back. He was slightly fat. A typical gangster look.

“Right here, pour the gasoline here. The moment it’s lit, we run. Don’t let others see us.”

“Would somebody be hurt?”

Brother Fa slapped his head.

“This is a two level building. The moment there is fire, people will come out. Nobody would be harmed! The people that gave us the money said that this family offended someone. We are only here to burn the house to scare them. Move quickly!”

The gangsters started to pour gasoline.

Yu Minglang parked his car by the entrance of the village and walked here.

The sound of the car was too loud in the evening and he feared that she would see him.

All he wanted to do was to stand near her house, take a peek at her and he would be relieved to return to his department and continue to work.

As he walked closer to Xiaoqian’s house, he saw a few people sneaking around and Yu Minglang heightened his sense of alertness.

After Yu Minglang was sure about what they were doing, Yu Minglang squinted and…

“Move faster, light it and run…Aiya! “The half naked man had not finished his sentence and everything went dark. He did not have the chance to see what was going on and someone karate chopped his neck from behind.

These gangsters were no match for Yu Minglang. The gangster fainted straight away!

The other two gangsters were lighting the newspaper on fire. When they heard a noise from behind. They saw that their boss fainted. They took a fruit knife from their pocket, facing Yu Minglang and charged at him.

Xiaoqian was admiring the stars in her attic. Suddenly she smelled gasoline and heard faintly someone say ‘stab him!’

She opened the window to the attic, climbed out of the attic onto the sloped roof top carefully and looked down. She saw Yu Minglang punching a bad guy and another one charged at him from behind!

“Behind you!” She shouted. However, her voice did not reach him. Yu Minglang reacted as though there were eyes behind him. He reverse kicked, he kicked the guy’s hand and he dropped the knife.

He settled the three bad guys in an instant. The newspaper that they lit fell not far from the location where they poured gasoline. It was still burning.

You can tell just how quick Yu Minglang was.

When Xiaoqian saw this, her brilliant brain concluded that someone wanted to burn her house. Yu Minglang took care of them.

However, why was Yu MInglang there?

This was an interesting question.
