As Jiang Ming looked through the attributes of the Book of Confidentiality, he smiled internally. However, he didn’t use it immediately and placed it in his inventory.

“Senior Crow Cliff, thank you.” Jiang Ming smiled as he thanked Crow Cliff. “In fact, even if you didn’t ask for it, I would have helped with killing Sky Wing. Just like what you said before this, I’m from the demon faction. I can’t just let him get away! But it’s a pity that I didn’t get to finish him.”

When Crow Cliff heard Jiang Ming, sharp pain penetrated his chest. Both the things that he gave Jiang Ming before this were not as valuable, because the Book of Confidentiality was something that he really liked. Jiang Ming said to Crow Cliff and took out the Hawk puppet monster. Both Jiang Ming and the Demon Wolf King mounted it and smiled at Crow Cliff.

That’s it? You ripped me off and now you’re going to just leave? No way! Perhaps I should give you a small surprise as well. Crow Cliff thought to himself and immediately called out to Jiang Ming, “Young Brother, wait a minute.” 

“What’s wrong?” Jiang Ming turned around and looked at Crow Cliff curiously. 

“Don’t you want to know what was the information that Sky Wing was talking about?” Crow Cliff raised his eyebrows and showed a mysterious smile.

“Oh?” Jiang Ming paused and asked, “Are you willing to tell me?”

“You’re one of us from the demon faction. What’s wrong with telling you? However, before that, you have to accept the ‘Demon’s Child’ mission. If you accept it, then I’ll tell you.” There was a wry smile on Crow Cliff’s face as he told Jiang Ming about the mission. 

“‘Demon’s Child’ mission? Is this a hidden mission as well?” Jiang Ming muttered to himself. But no matter what mission it was, he would still be rewarded after that. So he nodded his head and accepted the mission.

Ding~ System notification: Congratulations. You have accepted the Demon Saint’s Inheritance Mission from the demon faction.

Jiang Ming said to himself and immediately looked through the mission.

Demon Saint’s Inheritance Mission : The only nightmare level hidden mission of the demon faction.

Intro: The mission has been divided into twelve parts. When one part is done, the next one will be activated automatically. Each part has to be completed within 6 months (gaming time). Unable to complete before the deadline leads to failure of the mission. All levels, attributes, equipment, gold coins and skills would be lost. Once the mission was accepted, it would not be renounced. Otherwise, renouncing would be the same as failing the mission!

First part: Look for the Demon Saint’s heart and become the ‘Demon’s child’.

Second part: Unactivated.

While Jiang Ming was reading about the mission, Crow Cliff’s ‘weak and severely injured’ status was deactivated. He managed to summon one of his flight puppet monsters and was already in the air when he bid farewell to Jiang Ming.

Upon reading the mission, Jiang Ming’s face turned pale. When he heard Crow Cliff’s mockery as he got onto a Phoenix puppet monster, Jiang Ming screamed out loud towards the direction where Crow Cliff headed to.

“You! Son of a b**ch! How dare you trick me! You better not let me see you again or else I’ll chop off your bird and slice you into pieces!”

In Divine Land, the missions were categorized into four levels which were normal, difficult, abyssal and nightmare. The mission of the nightmare levels was basically mission impossible. It would torture you just like a nightmare. Plus, this mission had a time limit and its punishment was extremely severe. Jiang Ming only realised that he was tricked after he read the mission in detail. He was in big trouble!

Every part of the mission was limited to 6 months of gaming time which was 2 months in reality. The mission had twelve parts which meant that he would be stuck with this mission for the next 2 years. If he failed any part of the mission throughout, he would lose everything and that includes both the Divine Deconstruction Technique and the Divine Fusion Technique. This is also one of the reasons why Jiang Ming, who was usually very calm, became so furious and swore nonstop.

Other than this, there was another thing that pissed him off. “Did you see the Phoenix puppet monster he got on?! That thing was so cool. That old man lied to me saying that other than this chicken over here, all his other puppet monsters have been destroyed! That bastard! I should have killed him just now!” 

“Crow Cliff! You son of a b**ch!”

The more he thought about it, the angrier he got. In the end, Jiang Ming stretched his middle finger in the air as he continued swearing at Crow Cliff who was long gone.

Jiang Ming kept the Hawk puppet monster in his inventory and jumped onto the Demon Wolf King’s back. Because of this mission, he already didn’t have the mood to continue staying in the game. Plus, Zhao Long had been calling him multiple times in reality, so he logged out of the game.

“Brother Long, this fellow is being so arrogant. He already entered the game for such a long time and he doesn’t even want to come out of it even after I called him so many times. He’s just doing this on purpose!” The man who was on the driver seat, with a cigarette in his mouth, said to Zhao Long after looking at Jiang Ming who was sitting in the backseat with his eyes closed.

“Smack!”

Zhao Long was annoyed enough already and when he heard the driver talking non-stop, he directly punched at the driver’s face and said, “Try talking again after this and I will kill you, you understand?”

The driver, who received the punch, started bleeding from his nose and half of his face was already swollen. His entire body shuddered and he immediately kept quiet. 

The other man, who was also one of Zhao Long’s subordinates, quietly laughed when he saw the driver getting hit.

“I’m so sorry, I got involved with a ridiculous mission in the game, so it took some time. Sorry for making you wait.” 

When Jiang Ming exited the game, he saw Zhao Long hitting the driver. He really felt bad for making them wait so long and immediately apologized for it.

“Hehe, don’t worry. We just got here.” When Zhao Long heard Jiang Ming apologizing, he was stunned and quickly shook his head.

“Let’s go. I thought there’s something you wanted to talk to me about?” Jiang Ming nodded his head as he asked Zhao Long.

“Your pet… I mean your cat is still sleeping, should we wait till it wakes up before leaving?” Zhao Long looked at Chikage who was still sleeping next to Jiang Ming.

Jiang Ming paused for a minute and looked at Chikage. Then, he picked Chikage up his arms, ready to leave. “Let’s go.”

Zhao Long nodded his head and all four of them quickly got out of the car. As Zhao Long led the way, the group then walked towards a five star hotel.

“Yayue Hotel?” After getting off the car, Jiang Ming frowned as he saw the name of the hotel.

“What’s wrong?” When Zhao Long saw Jiang Ming’s expression, he asked him out of curiosity, “If there’s something wrong, we can change to another location.”

“It’s fine.” Jiang Ming shook his head and asked Zhao long, “Do you have any cigarettes? Pass me one.”

As soon as Zhao Long heard Jiang Ming, he quickly took out the pack of cigarettes from his pocket and passed one to Jiang Ming. Then, he placed the packet directly into Jiang Ming’s pocket. 

“Let’s go.”

Jiang Ming puffed at the cigarette and took another look at the name of the hotel. There was a sense of sorrow in his eyes. Then, he shook his head, puffed at it again and walked into the hotel.
