RPG: The Divine Deconstructor - Chapter 40
Chapter 40: Chapter 40: Leaving
Zhou Wenzhong was a sergeant of the H city police station. A few days ago, the Horned Dragon Gang suddenly appeared in H city and wiped out the three forces originally here, leaving a bunch of mess for them. When the police were having a headache trying to resolve the mess, they suddenly received calls informing them that a rowdy mob had gathered to cause trouble. Since it was his duty, Zhou Wenzhong had to rush over in a hurry.
As soon as he got out of the car, he saw hundreds of people dispersing to every corner of the hospital. His eyes fell on Zhao Yayue and he was slightly startled. Frowning, he thought to himself, ‘Damn, who is it that offended this tigress. Looks like the next few days will be even more awful.’
Zhou Wenzhong lamented in his heart, but seeing that he was noticed by Zhao Yayue, he had to bite the bullet and walk over.
“Yo, isn’t this Sister Yue? Have you brought your subordinates here for medical examinations today? Not sure which bastard called the police and told us that people are gathered here for making trouble. If I knew, I would catch him and peel his skin off.” Zhou Wenzhong forced a smile as he talked to Zhao Yayue.
“Hmph, since Officer Zhou knows that I’ve brought my employees here for a medical examination, then why have you mobilised so many people? Even the Flying Tiger team has come. They frightened me.” Of course, Zhao Yayue knew that Zhou Wenzhong said this to do her a favour, and that he wished to leave here as soon as possible so as not to get involved with this affair. Obviously, she was not stupid to tell him that she was indeed here to kill someone either. That would not only cause her trouble, but would also put Zhou Wenzhong down, and neither of them would have a good outcome.
Hearing Zhao Yayue’s reply, Zhou Wenzhong nodded with satisfaction. “We have been deceived. Since you are here for a medical examination, please hurry up and don’t affect other patients.”
“I know, the medical examination will be over soon.” Zhao Yayue walked to Zhou Wenzhong’s side, almost pressing against him. Before anyone could notice, she quickly took out a paper bag and stuffed it into the inner pocket of Zhou Wenzhong’s clothes and smiled. “Officer Zhou, we’ve caused you inconvenience by making you come here in vain. Take these and invite your brothers for a tea. I won’t send you off.”
Zhou Wenzhong scanned the surroundings and stuffed the paper bag further inside. Clearing his throat, he said to the police and the Flying Tigers behind him, “It’s alright now. The boss had brought her employees over for a medical examination. Let’s leave.”
After he finished talking, Zhou Wenzhong left with the policemen and the Flying Tiger team.
As for the traffic police, they evacuated after seeing that the police had left. After all, those who violated traffic laws would have been recorded on camera, and they would be fined as per the normal procedure. As for the trouble here, even the police did not even dare to get involved, so they didn’t dare to get mixed up with it either. That would be no different from seeking death.
After both the police and the traffic police left, Zhao Yayue’s lips curled up into a sneer as she led a small group of people into the hospital.
…
“Squeak~”
The door of the operating room opened. Jiang Ming, who was waiting anxiously, stepped forward and grabbed the elderly doctor’s hand and asked anxiously, “Doctor, is my girlfriend okay?”
“Your girlfriend is fine. She was just a little frightened. But you are not fine!” The old doctor frowned and looked at Jiang Ming.
“Huh~” Hearing that Lan Xin was alright, Jiang Ming heaved a sigh of relief. Then, he asked the elderly doctor, “Why am I not fine?”
The elderly doctor pointed out the window and said to Jiang Ming, “If the three of you don’t leave immediately, you may be the next one to enter the operating room.”
Hearing the elderly doctor’s words, Jiang Ming hurried to the window and looked out around the hospital.
Seeing that the outside of the hospital was surrounded by a dozen people at each few meters distance, he frowned slightly. “Doctor, you’ve said that my girlfriend is alright now. Can I leave with her now?”
Although the current society was chaotic, it was still a society ruled by law. If the people below rushed towards him, he would inevitably cause injuries or even death with his current strength. If he got surrounded by a group of police armed with firearms, no matter how strong he was, he would still be sent to the prison.
So he intended to leave this place with Lan Xin and take her to a quiet place, so that she would not be harmed again.
“Yes. But remember, don’t let her get frightened again. Otherwise, there may be psychological issues. And remember to give her this medicine according to the instructions I wrote on the bottle.” The elderly doctor continued. “There is a back door behind the operating room. Leave quickly, I don’t want the hospital to become a battlefield!”
“Thank you.”
Jiang Ming took the medicine bottle with a handwritten label. After thanking the doctor, he rushed into the operating room with Shao Long, the driver and Chikage following closely behind.
Gazing at the Jiang Ming’s back as he left, the elderly doctor sighed and shook his head, muttering to himself, “Such a good girl, what a pity…”
…
A few minutes after Jiang Ming left, Zhao Yayue led her people to the operating room. When she saw that the doctors in front of the operating room were prepared to leave, her expression changed. She quickly stepped forward and grabbed a doctor’s collar, asking coldly. “Where are those people who were here for surgery earlier?”
“They… they rushed into the operating room and left with the patient through the back door,” answered the doctor in a shaky voice.
“Hmph, chase them down for me!” Zhao Yayue ordered the dozens of people behind her, who immediately headed towards the back door of the operating room.
…
On the Hanning Expressway, a Land Rover was driving at high speed.
“Leader Long, have Lan Xin’s parents been escorted to another place? And where are we going?” Jiang Ming asked Shao Long.
“Yes, it’s all settled.” Shao Long continued. “You can’t live any longer in your original residence, and you can’t stay in Hanyang County either. I just bought a house in Ningshang County some time ago, and no one knows about it. I’m going to send you there to live for a while until it becomes safer.”
Jiang Ming frowned. He knew what Shao Long meant by taking him to Ningshang County. Shao Long probably wanted to use some means to get him to help him get rid of some forces in Ningshang County. But Jiang Ming did not oppose this. After all, it was indeed very dangerous for him to continue staying in Hanyang County. If he were alone, he had nothing to be afraid of, but he had Lan Xin with him.
When Jiang Ming thought of Lan Xin, he looked to his side. Lan Xin seemed to be really overwhelmed by fright. Her face was a little pale and she seemed a little weak as she sank into deep slumber.
“Brother Jiang Ming, it will take around three or four hours to reach Ningshang County, so please take some rest.” Shao Long looked at Jiang Ming as he spoke.
“Okay.”
Jiang Ming nodded, but instead of sleeping, he kissed Lan Xin on the forehead and entered the game.
After all, the nightmare level Demon Saint’s Inheritance Mission had a time limit. Once the mission failed, he would lose everything. Now he was counting on the game to make money as he had to pay his sister’s tuition fee and future expenses between him and Lan Xin.
Although he could just ask Shao Long for money, he did not want to do it.
He already owed Shao Long a favor. If he asked for money, the favors he owed would accumulate. Since Jiang Ming never liked to owe others favors, he naturally would refrain from asking Shao Long for money.
Additionally, if he asked Shao Long for money and Shao Long asked him for a favour in return, he would be too ashamed to reject it. In order to avoid Shao Long using his favor to persuade him into doing something illegal, he had to enter the game and by himself find a way to complete the mission. At the same time, he needed to sell those equipment he saved up for some money.
