Chapter 54: Chapter 54: The Figure on the Platform

Jiang Ming’s Phantom Dance Step had an additional 300% increase in its attributes while Jade Emperor’s Step of God only had 200%. The reason why Jiang Ming’s skill had a higher addition to its transportation skill was mainly that Phantom Dance Step was used along with Phantom Steps. When both these skills were used together, he had a faster transportation speed than Jade Emperor.

However, the other equipment of Jade Emperor was much higher than his and his attributes were also top level. With all the attributes added together, Jade Emperor was still able to follow Jiang Ming’s transportation speed.

In fact, Jiang Ming could defeat Jade Emperor by using the ‘Jinx Strike’, but even though he managed to reduce Jade Emperor’s attributes by half, the remaining would still be much more than his. There was no chance that Jiang Ming could defeat Jade Emperor in this state.

Since Jiang Ming wasn’t certain that he could win, why should he risk exposing all his skills to his opponent?

This is also why he didn’t use the Jinx Strike and decided to run.

As soon as Jiang Ming got out of Jade Emperor’s attack range, he would be able to summon the Hawk puppet monster. However, both of them were moving at the same speed. Jiang Ming was only fast enough to dodge his attacks, but it was still a little difficult for him to escape completely.

Now that Jade Emperor had already exposed him and he realised that Jade Emperor was from this novice village, Jiang Ming would never return to this novice village in the future. However, before leaving the village, he wanted to take a look at the Hidden Summit Cliff which was why he chose to run towards that direction.

“This fella is following me so closely? And his steps look so familiar? It looks just like Emperor Tian Shuai’s Step of God from Glory. Is this him or is this just another imitation?”

When he turned around and saw Jade Emperor, who was using the Step of God, he wondered.

He was reminded of that one incident that happened when he first started getting famous in Glory. There was once where he went for a competition with some of his colleagues at night. They were matched with a group of unspecialised characters. Initially, Jiang Ming thought that he could easily finish them, but he didn’t expect that there was a top player among them. In the end, the group that was made of unspecialised characters killed all the other four players on Jiang Ming teams and ever since then, they would hide whenever they saw this player.

What he remembered the most was that this player even managed to kill him once and it was under a one-on-one battle. With the player’s expert precision, steps and his ultimate skill, the player managed to kill Jiang Ming.

That entire battle was recorded and it did cause an uproar in the game back then.

Glory was just a semi-virtual game which meant that only their consciousness would enter the game. The player’s actual appearance would not be there and only the character’s appearance could be seen. Therefore, up till today, no one knew how Emperor Tian Shuai looked like in reality. Soon after that, Emperor Tian Shuai’s team won a few other competitions and Jiang Ming heard that he even established his own guild. He gathered a few top players and their guild managed to come top 7 in the rankings.

Jiang Ming wasn’t sure if the guy following closely behind him was Emperor Tian Shuai, but if it’s the same guy who had once defeated his own self-created skill, he was someone that Jiang Ming should be cautious of.

“Hmph! All you ever do is run! Weren’t you very arrogant before this? I dare you to stop running and have a one-on-one battle with me now!” Jade Emperor screamed at Jiang Ming from behind.

“Huh? Say that to me when we’re on the same level. I’m pretty sure that I’ll be the one who says the same thing to you!” Jiang Ming turned around and mocked.

As the chase continued at an extremely fast speed, most of the players were already far behind and the two of them were now running through the forest.

“Hmph! Even if we’re on the same level, I can still beat you up!”

There was an arrogant look on Jade Emperor’s face as he stared at Jiang Ming who was running away from him.

Jiang Ming didn’t even bother replying to him. He continued dashing through the forest, seemingly towards a mountain. It was obvious that Jade Emperor hadn’t given up yet as he was still following closely behind.

Soon, the two of them reached the Hidden Summit Cliff. Jiang Ming looked down at the edge of the cliff that was covered with a thick fog. Then, as soon as he turned around, he stared at Jade Emperor with a murderous look.

“Go ahead! Run!” When Jade Emperor saw that they had reached the edge of a cliff, he said with a cold smile, “With the amount of HP that you have left, you will definitely die if you fall off this cliff. Don’t you worry. Once you jump off this cliff, I will find a way to get all of your items.”

“Sure. Since you want it this badly, follow me!”

Jiang Ming snorted. Then, he turned around and jumped off the cliff. When Jade Emperor saw that Jiang Ming really jumped off the cliff without any hesitation, he was shocked. He frowned as he didn’t believe that Jiang Ming had the guts to do it.

He quickly stepped forward and saw that Jiang Ming had already disappeared into the thick fog and left with a dissatisfied feeling.

When Jiang Ming was entirely covered by the thick fog, he quickly summoned the Hawk puppet monster that was given to him by Crow Cliff.

“Hu~ Luckily I still have a flight puppet monster. Otherwise, I would have died.”

Jiang Ming sat on the Hawk puppet monster and wiped off the cold sweat on his forehead.

“I guess I’ve found an enemy now. I will settle it with you in the future. I should keep all of my equipment at the warehouse first before I find the stone platform. Money Lover was killed in the cave before this without a reason. What if I get killed in there as well and I lose all of my equipment ? Since the cave is not like the Death Bell Tower where I’ll only get killed without dropping any of my items.”

As he decided, he went to the premium store in the Marketplace that he bought.

He walked in and opened the warehouse. Then, he took out all the valuable equipment that he had and placed them inside. The only thing that he had with him now were only a few bottles of rejuvenation potion.

After keeping everything at the warehouse, he left the Marketplace and headed to that cave on his puppet monster.

“Eh? That is…”

After a while, he managed to find a stone platform at Hidden Summit Cliff, but the thing that surprised him was there was a black figure standing on the platform.

Because the fog was too thick, he couldn’t clearly see the appearance of the black figure.

“Did someone else find out about this place before me?” Jiang Ming was surprised. Then, he summoned the puppet monster and got a little closer to the cave.

As he got closer to the platform, the figure became much clearer.

Ding~ System notification : There is someone looking for you in reality, would you like to log out?

Just as the fog around him became thinner and the figure on the platform became clearer, Jiang Ming held his breath as he tried to see who it was. Suddenly, a system notification popped out which scared him and he jumped.

It was also this small movement that caught the attention of the person who was on the platform.

Sh*t!

The figure slowly turned around and glanced at him. At that moment, he finally saw the person on the platform.

Jiang Ming was shocked as soon as he realized who it was. The person was staring back at him with a cold smile and before the person opposite him had a chance to come any closer to him, he immediately logged out!
