The first day arrived in advance!
This was something Xu Nan didn’t expect.
His first reaction was – “Xin`er!”
Originally, according to Xu Nan’s plans, he would fetch Xin`er to the underground city tonight. After all, Xin`er’s situation was special. It was quite difficult to communicate with her. Xu Nan had already prepared a multitude of plans and if the situation called for it. He even prepared the spells [Animate Rope] and [Sleep].
After all, he was thinking about Xin`er’s safety. As an elder brother, Xu Nan naturally needed to consider things thoroughly.
However, what Xu Nan didn’t expect was for the gods of the Puluo World to suddenly go crazy and shift the date forward.
Now, Xu Nan’s situation was awkward. He was afraid that Xin`er might be in danger.
In fact, he didn’t even have time to read the other content in the message and immediately rushed out to find Lu Junyi!
“What happened earlier? I might be hearing things due to sleeping too much recently. Or is there someone playing a prank on me?”
Lu Junyi stared at Xu Nan, who had just entered his room, and couldn’t help but ask in bewilderment.
Xu Nan couldn’t be bothered to explain to him. He immediately asked, “Can you use the most basic industry mage’s spells?”
Being equipped with the great demon heart, the flying warship had transformed into the foundation base form, and some of its most basic spells could still be used.
However, Xu Nan needed the cooperation of an industry mage. He had the authority, but he didn’t have the skill set of an industry mage.
If Lu Junyi couldn’t do it, he could only try and find another method.
He had to use the fastest method to get Xin`er to the underground city. For now, this place was temporarily the safest.
Lu Junyi touched his stubble on his chin. “Naturally. I’m, after all, a man that Princess Vanessa looked favorably upon!”
“But why are you in such a hurry?”
Xu Nan dragged Lu Junyi to the no. 4 mage tower. If he didn’t remember wrongly, the spells imbued into the mage tower were all very low grade. Even an industry mage apprentice had the chance to cast some of the spells.
“Fireflow, [short-distance spatial capture].”
Xu Nan didn’t explain as he gave the command.
Very swiftly, at the interior of the no. 4 mage tower, a complete magical formation flickered incessantly.
“This place isn’t far from my house. I want you to help to activate this spell and ‘capture’ Xin`er’s room over!”
Xu Nan’s expression was very solemn. Lu Junyi patted his chest. “There should be no problems. If the spells imbued in the mage tower hadn’t expired yet, I just need to activate it and it should work.”
He began to check the spell formation.
Xu Nan’s heartbeat was somewhat fast. The reason why he didn’t use [Hagrid’s Flicker] to find Xin`er was because the efficiency might be a little low. After all, this teleportation spell of his wasn’t able to bring anyone with him.
He had to use the fastest method to fetch Xin`er over safely.
After half a minute, Lu Junyi gave him an ‘ok’ gesture.
The spell [short-distance spatial capture] actually had very high requirements of the controller. It could only work if the industry mage worked together with the commander of the flying warship. And currently, the role Xu Nan was taking on was precisely the role of the commander.
He needed to provide the spell with the precise coordinates. After all, the navigation system was crippled.
Luckily, Xu Nan was too familiar with his house and Xin`er’s room. After the magical formation was activated, Xu Nan’s eyes suddenly appeared near the district as he looked down at his house.
He swiftly found Xin`er’s room!
“Starting the spatial capture!”
“A while later, ‘transplant’ the second floor of the ninth-residential block to our base. Do not make a huge commotion. Xin`er is such a geek and would be using his computer in his room. He most probably wouldn’t discover anything strange.”
Xu Nan’s mind was unprecedently clear.
Lu Junyi quietly undertook the position of the spellcaster who had to toil bitterly.
At the next second, the magical formation began to spin rapidly. Xu Nan successfully captured Xin`er’s room due to the help of Fireflow and Lu Junyi. They were in the midst of rapidly transporting the room to the center of their base!
The entire process didn’t cause any commotion.
In fact, even people at the base had no idea what had just happened.
Xu Nan patted Lu Junyi on his shoulder in gratification. However, he soon discovered that Lu Junyi was now lying limply on the ground with his limbs paralyzed.
“Within a week, don’t…don’t make your daddy cast another spell. Damn…the feeling of being completely drained isn’t good at all.”
Lu Junyi panted heavily.
On the other residence area, a little deviation occurred in the plan of which Xu Nan thought was seamless.
At the same instant the room was ‘transplanted’, an uproar echoed out from within.
Xu Nan used his commander’s authority and hastened the process by a little. However, he didn’t have time to finish it before an angry voice screamed.
“Who dismantled my house’s internet wire!?”
That howl of anger shocked everyone in the base. The imps cowered back, and even Soupy was startled from her engrossed state of watching a drama.
Everyone glanced toward the noise.
Yet, they only saw an extremely adorable young girl in pajamas pushing open the window on the second floor, currently staring around in anger.
Xu Nan clapped his hand to his forehead.
He had forgotten about the internet wire.
He had thought he could do this without Xin`er knowing, but it seemed that he had underestimated the alertness of an internet addict.
Xin`er’s expression changed swiftly. When she saw the people rushing over, as well as the change in the scenery, a look of shock appeared on her face.
Xu Nan raised his hands, and he greeted her from below. “It’s fine Xin`er. I’m just trying to…”
Bang!
The window was slammed shut by Xin`er who was at a loss!
Xu Nan’s pocket vibrated as Xin`er’s messages rapidly flooded his phone.
[???]
[Are we kidnapped by aliens?]
Xu Nan felt a headache and just when he wanted to reply, a hand tapped him lightly on his shoulder.
“Let me do it.” Shi Fanglin smiled calmly and with confidence.
Xu Nan heaved a sigh of relief. “I will have to trouble you then.”
Xin`er didn’t talk to people at all. Even for him, when Xin`er sent text messages, Xin`er would only send a few sentences at a time. The only one Xin`er would talk to was Miss Shi San.
When Xu Nan called Miss Shi San back, he also wanted his help to build Xin`er’s character and explain the invasion of the Alter World to Xin`er. This matter was simply giving him a headache.
“Wait a minute, why are your fingers bandaged?”
Xu Nan was puzzled.
Shi Fanglin calmly retracted his beautiful hands into his sleeves. His smile stiffened. “No matter.”
“It’s just that Vet Lu doesn’t really know how to use a nail cutter. I’m now suspecting that he bites his nails to trim them.”
…
With Miss Shi San agreeing to help with the matter, Xin`er could finally accept the current strange setting of the world during dinner time.
It was just that her emotions weren’t stable. According to Shi Fanglin, an internet-addict who got cut off from the internet would find it very hard to stabilize their emotions in a short time.
Fortunately, she obediently hid in her room. After eating dinner, she soon fell asleep.
Xu Nan gathered everyone and had a simple meeting, explaining some of the dangers that might possibly happen in the following days.
Overall, the attitudes of everyone were more inclined to believing him. After all, everyone had heard the announcement of the ‘first day’ earlier.
Xu Nan naturally didn’t directly reveal the scenes he had seen. He used Kaiser’s message bottle as an excuse. After all, his words about the future would seem more reliable if he obtained the information from Kaiser.
For the next few days, he suggested for everyone to keep a lookout in the underground city.
After all, he also had no idea what monsters the gods of the Puluo World would release. He didn’t know their numbers and the degree of impact they would cause to the current Earth!
Early last week, he had already prepared several rations. The food he stored was sufficient for a group of people to stay for a month in the underground city.
In order to mend the problem of electricity, Xu Nan still sneakily went to the surface and purchased a few generators. Shi Fanglin and Lu Junyi kept experimenting on the power furnace with the generators. In the end, they managed to create a small-scale power plant for him.
At the very least, when everyone’s mobile phones needed to be charged, they no longer needed to go to Grandpa Zhong’s house to steal the electricity.
Everyone spent a boring three days in the underground city.
During this period, they played all the board games available and watched all the old movies they could watch. They discovered that there were basically no traces of any monsters at all!
Xu Nan successfully completed [I ardently love nature 2]. However, the initial-grade transformation spell of druids that he obtained didn’t really cause him to feel satisfied. Why? Because his spellcasting form was actually a mountain goat!
“Why would there be such a dumb transformation spell? The mage lords would always polymorph people into goats, but my transformation spell would actually turn myself into a goat?”‘
Xu Nan couldn’t be bothered to ridicule this. He directly resolved to place this spell in the ‘cold palace’ and would never use it.
“Xu Nan, time to eat!” someone below called out.
Today, Shi Fanglin was the one responsible for purchasing food ingredients outside. After all, everyone felt a little sick of eating fast food for three days straight.
They were also not truly isolated from the world. When they went online using their mobile phones, they discovered that everything was calm outside. There were basically no traces of a monster invasion at all.
This caused Xu Nan to be extremely depressed. Did he make a mountain out of a molehill?
In the future, would he gain the title of ‘Fighting courageously in terms of wits and valor against the thin air’?
However, Kaiser’s message confirmed that the gods of Puluo World had already released a large number of monsters into Earth. Kaiser had no reason to lie to him.
Xu Nan then read through the letter meticulously again before heading down to join everyone for the meal.
“Eh? There’s a new dish today!”
Qin Lele’s eyes brightened.
Shi Fanglin nodded. “These [green-skinned crayfishes] are recently extremely popular, and are much more delicious than the normal crayfishes. I see many people buying them; hence, I joined the queue. Everyone, come and give it a try.
“Oh yes, Xu Nan. Today, when I went to the surface, there didn’t seem to be any problems. Although many people said that they heard the [First Day] announcement, nothing strange had happened. Some comrades from the province next to us did say that there are suddenly many more wild games in the mountains. The standard of living for everyone actually increased.”
Xu Nan couldn’t understand no matter how hard he thought about it.
Right now, he could only choose to properly eat his meal.
…
In Puluo World, the heavenly divine kingdom. All the gods were in discussion.
“The first step of our invasion plan can be considered successful. We managed to prove the level of civilizations on Earth. However, there’s a region where a huge number of creatures we sent are being eliminated. According to what we learned, that region is named China.
“From the current estimate, we have grossly underestimated the combat strength of people from China! The species that invaded there are decimated heavily. In fact, there isn’t any word from them at all.
“We seriously suspected that the region contained an immense power that we have no way to learn of. I suggest that we raise the level of invasion.”
A divine servant in a western suit was currently reporting the results meticulously.
“What about the cromers? We placed so many of them in the South-Eastern water region of China. Although these creatures could do no damage, their breeding ability is very strong and they should be able to destroy the ecosystem of that region in a short amount of time…”
A young god doubted.
The divine servant fell silent for a moment. “The cromers were ineffective.”
“Impossible!” The god coldly spoke, “I need an explanation. Cromers are something I invented after I shed blood, sweat, and tears. How could they be ineffective?”
The divine servant bowed deeply. “This subordinate will use his fastest speed to investigate.”
“In any case, I personally feel that we have underestimated the people of China.”
…
Earth, Underground City.
“Wow!”
“The green-skin crayfishes are so delicious!”
“Go and buy another 5 kg worth!”
Everyone ate joyfully.
Only Xu Nan felt a little strange as he stared at the [Green-skinned crayfishes]
A while later, a light flashed in his mind as he tossed an identification spell over.
…
