Sigrid - Chapter 26
Chapter 26: Misunderstanding
A pang of guilt pierced at Sigrid’s heart. Especially, when she thought about the insults she had said in the past. She thought he was a guy who was flirting around with women and trying to attach himself to nobles. She never thought he would have a family. And on top of that, he was a head of a family?
“Is there anything I could do to help?”
Alkerto and Morris looked at her astonished.
Alkerto blinked his turquoise eyes a few times and then shook his head with a smile. “Thank you, but it’s okay. The wound would heal after I have a rest for a few days. You, too, are not free enough to take care of others.”
“Yeah.”
It would take some time to fill her aura core.
“But it would over soon, so if there is anything I could help you with, I’d like to help.”
Morris frowned hearing Sigrid’s words. “What do you mean ‘it’s over soon’? You should not say like that.”
“Huh? No.. uh… it will be over soon.”
“Hey.”
“Morris.”
The flustered Alkerto tried to stop Morris, but Morris shook his head. He had waited long enough.
“No, I had to say this. Sigrid, you should think about trying to live little longer.”
“Huh?” Unable to comprehend Morris words, Sigrid blinked.
“You’ve been sick right? A deadly disease. I know everything.”
“Uh…”
“Don’t even think about hiding it.
“I’ll send you to the healer, so make sure you get treated.”
“No, I’m—”
“That’s it. No refusal.”
“That’s…”
“Morris is right. Even if it costs some money, the money is spent well for good healer”
Even Alkerto spoke with a serious face.
Sigrid fell into confusion. A deadly disease? Her? Did they say that she fell ill without realizing it? Wasn’t that a bit odd? After fumbling in her head awhile, Sigrid then said, “I don;t have a deadly disease.”
“What?”
“What are you talking about now?”
“I’m serious. I’m fine.”
Morris and Alkerto looked at her, feeling suspicious.
“I’m sorry for digging into your life without notice, but.. But aren’t we friends now?” Alkerto looked at Sigrid with a sympathetic expression on his face.
Sigrid, although still in bewilderment, swung her hards around. “No! I’m not sick. I’m totally energetic. Why? Why did you think I’m going to die?”
It wasn’t until Sigrid showed a desperate move of swinging both arms, and spinning and jumping,
“….”
“…”
The two men lost their words.
A moment later, Sigrid covered her face and let out a groan. “Was there a rumor like that spread around?”
“I’m sorry.”
“That…umm.. If it’s not that, well..what type of rumor would be possible …”
“Ugh…”
Hearing Sigrid groaned, Morris felt a bit guilty. “I’ll clear it up for you, okay?”
“Yes, we also have a responsibility in that.”
“As long as you keep calm, you would be fine.”
“Really?”
Morris nodded his head when Sigrid was peeking through her fingers and asked with her scarlet eyes looked at him. He was scared of what Marisuez and Rowen Green would say, but he was the one who made the false rumor….
“So that’s why… for some reason, I felt that Marisuez was strangely kind.” Now that Sigrid thought about it, it seemed that Marisuez thought she had a deadly disease and gave a sympathy. Sigrid took a deep breath. She felt she had to write a letter to Marisuez and Rowen Green. However, there was an anxious feeling in her mind. She worried that they would feel they were deceived by her, and she would lose the joy of having female friends that she just got.
“Don’t worry, those two, it would be me that they would hunt down.”
Morris spoke in a grave tone, and Alkerto for a moment thought ‘i’m glad I got injured.’
After talking for a while, Morris decided that it was to go. “It’s not good to stay too long, so we’ll go.”
“Wai, can I talk to Sigrid? Just two of us?”
At Alkerto request, Sigrid nodded her head.
There was a frown on Morris’ forehead. “Then I’ll wait outside.”
Then Morris went out of the room.

As soon as the door closed, Alkerto opened his mouth. “You—”
“I know. Are you talking about the first knight order?”
“Yeah. Why did they say it was killed by those kids?”
“Well.. I asked Veramood to claim it for himself. But he then asked the first knights order.”
“Why?”
“Huh?”
“Why did you pass the ball? Did Veramood make any threats? Didn’t that bastard take off your clothes? DId he do something after that?!” Alkerto’s voice gradually started to rise up.
Sigrid shook her head. “No. he didn’t. I just didn;t want to announce that I had an aura core.”
At that, Alkerto bit his mouth.
Sigrid looked at him. “I don’t want anyone know for the time being. I hope you could keep a secret about it.”
“If that what you want, then I would do it. But why? It’s a good thing, you could go up.”
“I need time to really think more about it.”
“You’re a little weird these days. Though, it’s weird in a good way. But, if it’s not a deadly disease, that what is the reason?”
“Well.. it just happens.” It was an inexplicable phenomenon, so Sigrid just shrugged.
Alkerto sighed. “Okay.”
“Thanks.”
“Nahh.. it should be me. Thanks for saving me. I would have died if you hadn’t come.”
“Thank you too. For living.” With this, she knew she could change the future, one less thing she regretted.
Alkerto smiled and held out his hand. “Let’s do well, fellow commoners.”
Sigrid smiled and clapped his hands.
“I’ll go.”
“Okay.”
“Rest well.”
“Yes. You go home safely.”
After waving her hand, Sigrid left Alkerto’s house. She thought Morris would ask, but he did not.
“Sig.. ribs..you have to see a healer.”
“How do you know?”
“How could I not?”
“Okay.”
Sigrid nodded her head obediently, and Morris smiled, then closed the carriage door.
