So You Have Loved Me Too - Chapter 43
Chapter 43: Entering His Condominium – Part 7
After finishing, she turned to raise the empty bowl for Ji Chicheng to see, “Little Uncle, I finished.”
It was a force of habit. As a child, children who obediently took their medication when they fell sick got commended.
Back then, after first arriving at the Jis, she strived to do her best at everything from important matters like school grades down to minor things like taking medicine when ill.
She always made sure to never let her mother have any cause for concern.
Each time she obediently took her medication, her mother would praise her for it. Since young, due to her poor constitution, she often fell sick, so she was in the habit of seeking acknowledgement from her mother, who was the only person that truly cared about her.
“Wu…”
Seeing the man motionlessly standing there with a cold expression, Ji Anning swiftly pulled her hand back, at the same time ceasing even to smile or show a shred of mischief on her face.
Ji Anning, are you insane?
To her surprise, she made such a childish gesture in front of Ji Chicheng.
It was too late to be annoyed. Lowering her head blushing, she said muffledly, “Little Uncle, I’ll go and get the bowl washed.”
At that, she headed for the kitchen. When entering the house earlier, she checked out the entire apartment and knew which direction the kitchen was in.
Just as she was about to leave, Ji Chicheng abruptly reached out and grabbed the bowl, placing it back on the coffee table, “Someone will come by and clean up.”
Someone will come by and clean up… Is it the owner of this dress?
“Let’s go.”
While Ji Anning pondered, Ji Chicheng told her mildly and already started walking towards the door.
Observing his statuesque form from behind, Ji Anning quickly ran to chase after him.
Once they were in the lift, the two stood abreast of each other with some distance between them.
Ji Anning’s face still felt burning hot while her body seemed on fire, and she was a little dizzy.
She was aware these were no longer signs of awkwardness but symptoms of a cold.
As the temperature in the car was a little high when Ji Anning got in, it felt a little warm. For a long time, Ji Chicheng did not turn on the air conditioning. Worst still, since he locked the windows, she was incapable of even opening the windows to enjoy some wind
Her body was burning up badly, with clear signs of fever.
“Little Uncle.”
Finally, she spoke up boldly. Due to the fever, even her throat was a little hoarse.
“Mhm,” replied Ji Chicheng from in front without even turning back for a look.
Pursing her lips, Ji Anning considered briefly, “I’m warm. Can you open the window a little?”
When she was with him since she did not have even basic human rights, she required his permission before opening the window.
Without trying to make things difficult, Ji Chicheng opened Ji Anning’s window halfway.
Although only her side of the car window got opened and there were no strong gusts of wind, after fresh air gushed in, it became both cooling and comfortable.
With her head tilted, leaning against the car window, her eyelids started feeling heavy. Narrowing her eyes, she gazed at the man in the driver’s seat.
“Little Uncle.”
As she was light-headed, Ji Anning started having difficulty controlling herself, so she whimpered to Ji Chicheng softly like a cat purring.
Sending tingles through even Ji Chicheng’s bones, he could not resist turning around to look at the girl in the backseat.
With her body limp, she snuggled into a tiny ball, making him lose guard instantly, “Mhm. What is it?”
In a tender tone that Ji Anning had never heard before.
But in her giddiness, she failed to notice anything peculiar at all and said, “I heard you’re going to T Uni to be a lecturer?”
All of a sudden, losing balance of her head, it charged forward, making her swiftly regain consciousness a little for a while. As she hurried to sit up straight, she used both hands to pat her searing hot face.
