So You Have Loved Me Too - Chapter 47
Chapter 47: Unexpected Time Alone – Part 3
Observing no change in her attitude, a touch of hate flashed across Bai Guo’s eyes, “But what’s the point of relying on his mother for backing just because she likes you now? Although his mother became the Jis second Young Madam for life, won’t she remain unpresentable for the rest of her life? You will meet with the same fate as her.”
At the sound of that, Ji Anning’s face sank. Turning around, she glared at Bai Guo as she coldly pulled back one side of her lips, “Bai Guo, just based on how disrespectful you are to my mother, there’s no way I’d take the initiative to let Ji Jingfeng and you be together either.”
In reality, she was dreadfully surprised Bai Guo was capable of saying this. It absolutely overturned the impression and notion of scholarly families in her heart.
As for Ji Anning’s attitude, Bai Guo was not agitated and laughed instead.
“Ji Anning, I investigated the hotel’s CCTV footage yesterday. You came out of room 804. Before you left, a man wearing a cap and mask came out, so you were unfaithful to Jingfeng with some other man too.”
Upon finishing, she crossed her arms, looking conceitedly at Ji Anning with ambition in her stance.
Along with a tremble in her heart, Ji Anning’s expression altered.
After the brief shock, she collected herself and shook her head in denial, “I don’t understand what you’re saying. I didn’t come out of any room.”
Though she did her utmost to suppress the anxiety, the guilty conscience in her eyes was undisguisable.
With a cold laugh, Bai Guo said slowly, “It doesn’t matter whether you understand, you just need to know it in your heart. If you obediently let go as I suggested, then you might still be able to continue staying at the Jis and enjoying a luxurious life in the future.
As she spoke, her expression and the subject of the conversion changed abruptly, “Otherwise, I will hand the CCTV footage over to Jingfeng’s grandfather. You and worse yet, your parents will probably be incapable of bearing the consequences.”
Striking Ji Anning at the Achilles heel with a single comment, it made her heart tremble slightly while her face turned pasty.
From the looks of it, Bai Guo did not appear to be lying and probably genuinely had the footage in her possession.
With the footage and the truth in Bai Guo’s hands, it felt impossible for her to give a convincing explanation. Now she had to either do as Bai Guo said or wait for her to let her grandfather see the CCTV footage. Either way, none of them were positive outcomes for her.
“I now possess the hotel’s CCTV footage during that timeslot and deleted the hotel’s copy. I’ll give you 48 hours to consider. At this time on Saturday, I expect your answer.”
Bai Guo offered her final ultimatum to Ji Anning before swinging around to leave without turning back.
Staring at her in a daze, Ji Anning suddenly fell towards the railing by the side. Leaning closely against it, she gradually squatted down and sat on the staircase weakly.
…
In a convalescent home that appeared like a villa, surrounded by lush greenery, birds sang while a refreshing and natural scent filled the air.
Standing at its main entrance, Ji Anning gazed inside at the groups of people dressed in hospital gowns, some even on wheelchairs, as they strolled around here leisurely.
Unknowingly, tears glistened in her eyes.
“Miss, who are you looking for?”
Perhaps after standing there for too long, the old security guard came out to ask her good-naturedly.
Gathering her melancholy thoughts, Ji Anning sniffled before shaking her head gently, “I’m not visiting. I’m just looking around.”
As she spoke, she glanced deep into the courtyard once more then turned dejectedly.
Although it took over six hours to travel back and forth by car, she was too useless and did not even have the courage to enter.
