So You Have Loved Me Too - Chapter 50
Chapter 50: Unexpected Time Alone – Part 6
“Anning, this is your primary school monitress, Bai Guo. Do you remember her?”
Pointing at Bai Guo, she made introductions for Ji Anning.
Bai Guo donned a white dress as well, but it was ankle length and appeared remarkably magical. It was entirely different from Ji Anning’s little evening dress style.
She graciously walked out with confidence and pride, brimming from her face.
For a split second, Ji Anning’s face blanched before nodding her head gently, “I remember.”
“Auntie, I was just talking to Jingfeng asking when Anning would arrive.”
Walking up next to Ji Anning, Bai Guo held Ji Anning by her arm affectionately, pretending to be close to her.
Yang Yufang smiled as she nodded, “Why don’t you youngsters run along and chat?”
Let’s go, Anning.”
Bai Guo almost dragged Ji Anning along until they gradually left the crowd and walked out of everyone’s view.
Ji Anning flung Bai Guo’s arm away hard before looking at her coldly, “Bai Guo, what are you up to?”
“Anning.”
Beside them was the bathroom where a familiar silhouette suddenly walked out of.
The voice that called her, “Anning”, sounded familiar, but the way he greeted her was foreign and also bereft of warmth.
He used to call her, “Anan”, but was now calling her, “Anning”. The last time he called her that was in front of Bai Guo.
In a daze, Ji Anning looked over to see Ji Jingfeng walking towards them.
The light blue linen shirt suited his demeanor well. Although he was born into a rich family, there was a scholarly air about him.
Despite being born in a wealthy family too, he lacked Ji Chicheng’s majesty and dominance.
“Feng,” Bai Guo walked over eagerly, hugging Ji Jingfeng by his arm as she pouted and said mincingly, “Anning doesn’t seem too cooperative.”
Looking at them like this in front of her, Ji Anning found it ironic. With her eyes red, she gazed at Ji Jingfeng, “Ji Jingfeng, did you plan this?”
Facing her questioning, a trace of disgust flashed across Ji Jingfeng’s eyes, “What about you then? Aren’t you with some other man yourself? Do you think I’d still want you around now?”
At first, he was worried his family would not condone it if he offended her. Little did he know, she had him cuckolded all this time.
It was the greatest humiliation in Ji Jingfeng’s life.
“Ha.”
Ji Jingfeng’s attitude left Ji Anning in despair. She laughed bitterly before dishearteningly nodding her head, “Fine. I get it.”
“Anan, give me your hand.”
“Anan, please wake up. Don’t leave me behind…”
Why did he woefully beg her not to leave him behind three years ago in that case? Everything would be over if he let her perish in the fire. Why bother saving her?
Although she wanted to ask him, her pride forbade it.
Ha. At this stage, she unexpectedly still wanted to reclaim the dignity she lost at the Jis all these years.
Holding her breath, Ji Anning did her utmost to normalize her trembling body and keep her footsteps steady.
Placing her hands behind her skirt, she clenched them tightly.
Without informing Yang Yufang, she left straight from the side entrance.
The cityscape at night remained as exuberant as ever. Amid skyscrapers, neon lights flickered everywhere.
Despite reflecting into her dark, bright eyes, it was incapable of concealing the loneliness and restlessness in them.
After walking into a pitch-black unlit deep alley unknowingly, Ji Anning got a little startled. As she was a little scared, she hurried to turn and leave.
“Ah…”
Suddenly, two tall silhouettes darted out from the shadows giving her a major fright. Before she collected herself, her head already got covered by a sack.
