SSS-Rank Mechanic Player - Chapter 3-2
Now even “it” was swearing.
Taejeong was able to lower his guard with this conversation.
For some reason, he felt a sense of closeness.
“Is it good?”
-Of course. The Awakening Stone inside of here is not the ordinary Awakening Stone that you’re used to seeing. It’s a bit weird for me to say it, but you could say it’s a masterpiece of the universe. Just having this isn’t enough to change the world.
“If it’s that good, why don’t you use it…?”
-Tsk tsk, ignorant fool. I am the awakening stone itself, and now you’re asking me that question.
“Ah. Then you should have just said that from the beginning.”
-That’s what I was going to say, but you’re actually nicer. Sirius’s clone was at his wits’ end from Taejeong’s calm words.
An human that he met in an empty place, in a semi-abandoned state.
It thought of it as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and decided to go all out.
But who knows, maybe this human isn’t human.
He had too much suspiciousness!
‘There’s not much time left…’ it was about to give up in its anxious heart, but Taejeong’s mouth opened as if he had made a decision.
“Yes. Let’s try it once. I am in a situation where I had no choice anyway.”
-You thought well. You’ll probably be thanking me a hundred times a day.
“If I can just survive.” With that, Taejeong bravely entered the space.
As soon as he did, a huge amount of light poured out, and the inside of the bathroom became bright.
And a small object that emitted a clear light.
It was the stone of awakening.
“It was really…” Taejeong, who was looking at the stone with a dazed expression, reached out and picked it up.
As the light emanating from the stone flowed towards him, an alarm sounded.
[You have awakened to the Mechanic class.]
-Finally. I was about to lose everything I’ve worked so hard for. Sirius’s clone said in a trembling voice, “Does that mean I’m a Hunter now?”
-That’s right.
“I’m a Hunter…”
-There’s no time to be dazed by that. Listen well. The class you’ve awakened to is actually an incomplete class. Because of structural problems, most of the power is sealed. However, you don’t need to worry too much. You’re already stronger even with that.
“I don’t really understand what sealing is or what the structural problems are.”
-There’s no time to explain. Just remember this one thing: don’t die, stay alive. And get stronger, until you reach your full potential. Then, at some point, you’ll find your singularity.
” Singularity?”
-Yeah.
And that’s when you’ll take your first steps into the world of Eons.
“What? What’s Eons? I have no idea what you’re talking about…”
-Remember what I said. Everything is in your hands. Everything…
“Hey! Hey! Can you hear me?”
I called out to him several times, but there was no response.
Just the sound of him moving around in the dark bathroom.
“What the hell is going on here…”
The surreal conversation and the feeling of reality again.
I was so confused that I felt uneasy.
Maybe I was just seeing things because I was so tired.
Among all these thoughts, he opened his mouth and spoke.
“Status.”
Class: Mechanic Grade [Cannot be Measured]
LV.1 Experience 200
Attack [1~5]
Defense [1~5]
Penetration [1]
Accuracy [1]
Magic [200]
Gloves [0]
Shield [0]
“…This can’t be real.”
The bright and vibrant status window hovered in front of me.
There was no doubt that it was real.
I was in shock for a moment.
Soon, a question popped into my head.
“Wait, was there a class called Mechanic?”
Taejeong scratched his head as he tried to remember.
It’s not an exaggeration to say that there’s no class that a Porter wouldn’t know after a year.
There are only differences in grade and level, and there are only a limited number of jobs that are classified.
But Mechanic was something he had never seen before.
“Well, that’s because it’s a new class. Now’s not the time to think about things you don’t know. Let’s see. Should we check the equipment first? Inventory!”
He had seen Hunters do this so many times that he immediately checked his equipment window.
And one familiar object that he couldn’t quite place.
He reached out and touched it, and the corresponding information window appeared.
Beretta 56 [Handgun]
Sealed Speed [156km/h]
Ammo: 9mm
Energy bullet range: [10m]
Base damage – 120
“What the hell? A gun… really?
All of the military equipment that modern civilization was proud of suddenly had inexplicably exploded.
The reason was unknown. It just disappeared as if it had never existed in the first place. But there was an even bigger problem.
Regression.
Civilization as a whole regressed.
From 3020 to 2020.
All of the advanced beings in the world disappeared and humanity regressed.
The geniuses who said they were long-lived gathered together and tried to figure out the cause with their heads together, but no one could find any clues.
Humanity started to recover the weapons to use against the monsters as quickly as possible.
However, for some reason, the weapons that were produced didn’t work.
Even the common, old-fashioned guns couldn’t be used for unknown reasons.
So, without knowing the cause, modern weapons disappeared into history along with the appearance of the Awakeners.
That was already 100 years ago, when the regression had just begun.
But at that time, guns?
“I never thought I’d actually see one of these. It looks like something out of a comic book. Do they actually work?” Taejeong picked up a gun from his inventory and examined it.
It was quite solid, but it seemed to weigh more than it looked.
Holding the gun in his hand, he saw a small window in the upper right corner.
[Slide back and forth on the top to cock the gun]
[Activate the energy gun skill at level 1]
[Pull the trigger]
There was a click.
“So that’s how you do it. Skill data.” Taejeong, who had learned how to reload, immediately opened the skill window.
[Energy bullet] lv1 [Gun]
A bullet powered by magic.
1 bullet: 10mp
*The destruction power increases according to the stats.
“Activate.”
[The energy bullet has been activated.]
[Applicable weapon – Beretta 56]
“Oh. So now I can… ”
