Starting From the Dragon Tribe
Chapter 49: Blood Rage? So you can “Rage” other things as well?
In these two months, Lu Chen used his actions to prove that what he said that day weren’t just empty words.
Clearing 19 A-rank and above missions became a legendary achievement for the Lionheart Society, so despite Lu Chen hardly ever administrating the organization, no one complained. In fact, whenever the president was mentioned, everyone’s faces would light up in admiration.
“What’s this?” Lu Chen noticed a set of neatly folded men’s suit on his seat.
“Student Union’s Caesar invites you to his party tonight. He hopes you’ll show your face there,” Milana winked playfully, but the other was stone-faced.
“Caesar? Remove it for me; I came back to check some documents.” Lu Chen was not averse to attending Caesar’s party: he heard from Finger that Caesar’s parties always had a lot of food; one was guaranteed to be full.
But just because he was back in school didn’t mean he didn’t have business to attend to. At least this matter was very urgent to him.
And that was to study a technique he had found in the Lionheart Club: the Blood Refinement Technique, commonly known as Blood Rage.
Because he had to go out on missions so often, his research would be interrupted frequently. Now, he felt like he was on the verge of understanding it. Only a final verification would be needed now.
Even the temptation of delicious food couldn’t compare to the feeling of being on the verge of unlocking new power.!
“Caesar invited you not because of your identity as the Lionheart Society president. His invitation was mailed to your dormitory, and Senior Brother Finger brought it here. On the invitation, Caesar said that he was only inviting you as a friend who has crossed paths before.”
Milana explained, thinking that Lu Chen was afraid of the trouble of a possible confrontation between the two major societies.
“Is that how it is?” Lu Chen was puzzled, but after thinking some more, it was like Caesar to do something like that.
Milana nodded.
“Then I’ll tell him that I’m putting this matter on hold. There’s no need to send me to the dormitory. I need to make a trip to the Lionheart Society first,” Lu Chen said as he took out his phone to send Caesar a text message. He had exchanged contacts with him after the last confrontation class.
“I have something urgent, if the party is tomorrow, then I can make it.” After sending the text, Lu Chen put his phone away and admired the scenery of the campus.
Upon arriving at Lionheart Society, Milana went to park the car. Lu Chen ran into the society’s secret library. On the way, he bumped into Chu Zihang, who had a spiritual expression on his face, and said hi to him.

“Yes, it’ll work like this!” Lu Chen had been researching for half a day when he suddenly lit up and exclaimed excitedly.
The Blood Refinement Technique left by the Lionheart Society had a flaw. It could be seen that if such a flaw did not exist, this technique’s side effects would be much smaller.
Lu Chen also understood why the principal was hesitant to hand this technique to him. Blood Rage was undoubtedly dangerous; it was like a gift from the devil.
Once you start using Blood Rage, it is like riding upon a slide that leads to death. The more you use it, the steeper that slide becomes, until you fall straight into the abyss.
Continuously dragonizing results in greater power, but the end of that road is to turn into a Death Servitor, an undead fated to wander aimlessly in the world forever.
If one were to say that the dangerous hybrid, Albert, crossed that line involuntarily, then Blood Rage was taking the initiative to refine one’s blood in order to challenge that limit in order to obtain that very power.
If this forbidden technique, in the words of the principal, were to be placed openly where students were able to access it, it would’ve probably have already been used for many years.
Fighting against evil dragons means one must be prepared to face the risk of becoming one himself. It is evident that the Secret Party knew this well.
Principal Anjou seemed to mistakenly believe Lu Chen to be some sort of special hybrid and believed that he could retain his sanity even if he broke through the critical blood limit, so he would be able to safely use the technique.
Lu Chen knew that he wasn’t, but he still dared to try.
The techniques of the Mystic Blood Warriors also by nature tainted the human mind. He was able to avoid becoming a walking corpse back then, and now, he wasn’t afraid to try the Blood Refinement Technique either.
His current dragon blood was far from the critical blood limit. And when he was near that limit, as long as he obtained the so-called Seed of Divinity, he’d be able to keep purifying his dragon blood without a care. It’s just that he didn’t know where the White Queen was yet.
Yet these weren’t reasons for why Lu Chen was so excited. He found that Lionheart’s Blood Refinement Technique was a very magical existence. It was already a gem in and of itself, but it wasn’t only capable of refining one’s dragon blood.
His Mystic Blood of God would also benefit from this!
And based on his years of complete mastery and detailed understanding of his Mystic Blood, he was basically certain that there would be no side effects if he used Blood Rage on it!
Cassell College did not investigate his blood, but one knows oneself best. He had long since ceased to be a normal human being. If the Mystic Blood Warriors had a critical blood limit as well, then he had long crossed it.
He closed his eyes and let go, feeling the boiling of his blood within him. The Blood Rage technique was indeed usable. It was possible for his Mystic Blood of God that had been stagnant for many years to reach the next level.
When he was in the state of Blood Rage, he could feel that his power increased a lot. It could count as his new “little unique skill” now.
As he walked out to the Lionheart secret library, Lu Chen felt light and airy.
“Brother Chu, want to get a late night snack?” Lu Chen greeted as he passed his office and saw Chu Zihang still processing documents.
Chu Zihang obviously had a very strong sense of responsibility. All of Lionheart Society’s matters were well organized by him. It seemed that Chu Zihang was in fact better as a president than he was. He only knew how to fight a little.
Chu Zihang stopped his hands and nodded. He was indeed a bit tired and would stop for today.
“I heard you also registered for the Execution Bureau, and your mentor even approved it. You carried out two solo missions some time ago?”
In the dining hall, the two casually chatted.
“Mhm, but they weren’t difficult missions.” Chu Zihang silently ate a mouthful of potatoes.
“But how come you were only allowed to act along…” Lu Chen remembered what his mentor had instructed the two of them during that first mission, “Is it because of your Kotodama?”
Chu Zihang froze a bit, then nodded, “It’s okay to let you know, to be honest. Number 89, Royal Blaze.”
“Cough cough… Royal Blaze!?” Lu Chen was a bit shocked. It was a high-risk Kotodama. No wonder the mentor didn’t let Chu Zihang reveal it, because then the school would question the danger of his blood.
After that mission, Lancelot had recounted the situation, saying that if his Kotodama had been Royal Blaze instead, then perhaps Albert would not have been able to survive the fire.
“But it’s just my Kotodama that’s sort of strong. You are still more powerful, Brother Lu.”
The way Chu Zihang said this was supposed to be a compliment, but coming from his mouth, it sounded like he was simply stating the facts.
“Why are you so desperate?” Lu Chen was puzzled. No matter what, letting a freshman go on missions to eliminate targets was still too dangerous. If he didn’t want to expose his Kotodama, Chu Zihang could easily have not applied to become an intern agent and just stayed in school.
Chu Zihang stopped cutting his steak. His whole body stiffened, and after a long pause, he said indifferently, “I just don’t want to experience that feeling of powerlessness. It would make me feel very weak.”
Lu Chen finished gnawing on a pork knuckle, then wiped his mouth, “If there’s something on your mind, then say it. We’re friends, aren’t we.”
Chu Zihang froze and looked up at Lu Chen.
Friends…?
