Starting From the Dragon Tribe
Chapter 66: The Principal’s Afternoon Tea
After an afternoon of playing, there were both wins and losses, but towards the end, perhaps because he was growing from playing with an expert, Lu Chen’s wins started to increase.
Suddenly, the dormitory door was furiously banged on, causing Lu Chen’s hand to shake a bit, resulting in a K.O. This infuriated him a bit, who is being so rude right now?
Finger went to open the door, but came face-to-face to a large, muscular man. He seemed to be a former Navy SEAL who was working as a school employee. He was here to run errands, as he was holding a long black box in his hand.
“The alchemic blade recast by the Equipment Department. Please check the receipt, Student Lu Chen,” the employee saluted towards Lu Chen, who had come to the door as well, and handed the box to him.
“Thank you for your troubles,” Lu Chen thanked. Originally, he had wondered whether or not he had to pay the psycho Equipment Department another visit.
He had to admit that the Equipment Department was quite efficient. They were able to deliver Red Maple to him in just a week. After the employee left, he enthusiastically opened the box. it was still the familiar sheath, the pitch black hilt seemed to have changed into a dark red, and was also printed with a skull pattern.
Lu Chen laughed, thinking, the Equipment Department is so chuuni to add this sort of pattern.
But Finger, who was looking beside him, took a few steps back in horror, pointing at the red Maple as if he saw something dangerous, “J-Junior Brother, this blade of yours, has it been modified by those people in the Equipment Department?”
Lu Chen unsheathed Red Maple, admiring the perfect blade after refinement. The blade had a faint red aura, which was probably the result of the infusion of a Sage’s Stone.
“Yeah, I didn’t expect them to be so good at their craft. It’s just that they’re a bit chuuni, they added little skull patterns to the hilt.” Lu Chen gushed.
Finger’s lips trembled as he took a few more steps back, “Junior Brother, the Equipment department never makes things with aesthetics and comfort in mind. That skull is a warning that it will explode.”
Lu Chen’s hand shook, and Red Maple fell to the ground, as he realized with a shock that if he had even gently grabbed it—beads of sweat formed on his forehead—if he was a bit more careless… he and Finger’s mancave would’ve disappeared.
The fucking Equipment Department!
They had clearly promised him that they wouldn’t add any weird features to Red Maple; even Minister Abdullah had agreed. He didn’t expect him to be so untrustworthy…
Huh?
He nodded his head?
Lu Chen suddenly snapped back to his senses. Minister Abdullah was an Arab, which meant nodding was an act of denial…

“Senior Brother, do you have any way of getting me a new hilt…” Lu Chen held his forehead in pain. He was afraid to wield a blade that had hidden explosives.
He looked at the description of the spatial introduction. Red Maple had turned into a purple quality item, but there was a very conspicuous notice below.
~~~~~
[Tip: This equipment contains a slight risk. Extreme violent vibration has a 0.001% of causing an explosion.]
~~~~~
Fucking insane!
“Leave it to me… I’ll get back to you in a few days,” Finger gingerly took the Red Maple and put it into the shock-absorbing box, stabilized it with two rods, and hung it out of the window, during which Lu Chen did not say anything. Neither of them wanted to sleep with explosives at night.

Countless steel nails fell off a man wearing ancient robes of nobility. His face was sunken, like a thousand-year-old corpse, but a pair of peircing golden pupils swept the lake darkened by night.
Wind and rain, lightning and thunder. What had occurred on the day of his burial occurred again today on his awakening. It was a grand ceremony to welcome him… or… it should have been.
But he did not see the courtiers of the audience. In place of them was a young man, a pair of pure-gold pupils looked dully at him. Before he was even able to be angry, he felt the world spin as his vision darkened
It was another 3rd generation, who was one of those who were sealed and buried in ancient times, weak to the point that Lu Chen was not even interested enough to exchange blows with him, and he couldn’t let him revive in front of the other Execution Bureau agents.
He exhaled, creating a cloud of steam. It was now the end of January, and the weather was very cold so that couch potatoes like Finger were reluctant to go outside… Well, he usually didn’t leave home either.
Lu Chen sheathed his blade. Red Maple’s sheath was swapped by some unknown alchemist thanks to Finger. It was very good, and now there was no more risk of explosion.
He waved for the agents to take care of the aftermath and walked towards the ship dock.
“Agent Lu, the academy has sent a message for you to return,” The officer in charge of the mission said to Lu Chen.
“It’s still winter break, right? Why would they want me back?” Lu Chen was puzzled. He was basically working two jobs, earning both Origin Coins and scholarship money together. He didn’t care much about the scholarship anymore, because his student card credit was raised very high, at least enough for him to eat and drink as much as he wanted.
School wasn’t in session, he really had no idea why they would want him back.
“The principal wants to have afternoon tea with you,” the officer said, and at the same time he was a bit envious. He was also considered an outstanding student back then, but never got the honor of having afternoon tea with the principal, while the kid in front of him got two opportunities in the span of a few months.
Lu Chen nodded, thinking that it was never as simple as others thought. Last time he captured the 3rd generation, the principal didn’t summon him. It seemed like something big happened, which was why that old guy was calling him again.
……
In the quiet afternoon time, it was the elegant office again.
“Oolong tea from your hometown’s Mt. Wuyi, it’s not aged.” Anjou poured a cup and set it in front of Lu Chen.
“Principal, what is the reason for recalling me here so urgently?” Lu Chen was not too interested in tea. The snacks at the principal’s place were quite delicious, just that the portions were too small. He was now concerned about whether there was something stronger for him to chop a little. He had yet to chop anything using Diamond. The best thing would be some giant fully draconized ancient dragon for him to try his hand.
“There is indeed something urgent, and quite troublesome as well. It’s a long story, but I must say it, as these series of events are related to you,” Anjou was not averse to Lu Chen’s impatience—quite the opposite, he actually liked the boy’s belligerent spontaneity. On the battlefield against the Dragon Raja, such daring warriors were needed.
“Related to me?” Lu Chen froze, scared that he may have accidentally left something unfinished in one of the missions.
No way, but I’ve killed every single target.
“Do you remember the mission in England?” Anjou picked up his own cup of tea and took an elegant sip.
“Birmingham? Albert?” Lu Chen thought a bit. He had performed two missions in England, but his instincts told him that the principal was referring to the first one.
“Mhm, during that mission, your Senior Sister, Lutecia, pointed out many dubious factors in her mission report. The Execution Bureau definitely isn’t careless when they do things, so they did a follow-up investigation about Albert and found some interesting things,” the principal said casually, but Lu Chen saw a hidden flash of anger in his eyes.
“There really were people helping Albert?” Lu Chen recalled what his Senior Sister had said.
Anjou nodded, and what he said was shocking: “Someone helped him, and it was an organization.”
