Starting From the Dragon Tribe
Chapter 67: The White Queen’s Progeny
Lu Chen froze momentarily, then asked puzzledly, “Organization?”
He thought, wasn’t the Secret Party the biggest hybrid organization? So there’s some other organization that could do whatever it wants in front of the Secret Party?
As if seeing Lu Chen’s confusion, Anjou explained, “The Secret Party is indeed very powerful, but isn’t all-powerful. For example, your homeland, China, is mainly managed by the hybrid families there. The Secret Party has an agreement with them, that unless Dragon King-level targets appear or special missions must be performed, then the Secret Party wouldn’t interfere.”
Anjou sipped his tea, then said, “There’s also the Cassell branch in Japan, for example. Though it is called a branch, it’s basically autonomous. Other than that, there are plenty of delusional individuals who wish to join the secret organizations that support the Dragon Raja.”
Lu Chen nodded, “Then the ones behind Albert, where are they from?”
“A small underground group consisting of a bunch of rubbish, but six months ago, they somehow obtained what they consider to be a treasure, which made them brazen. Albert was merely a test subject for them.”
“Albert’s remains were shipped back to the college, and signs of external tampering were found. That so-called treasure should be some sort of genetic drug, which was able to enhance the purity of dragonblood, allowing one to become stronger, but at the same time, more uncontrollable. Albert probably suddenly mutated into that after using the drug. Unfortunately, though, that small group likely did not have the cooperation of any drug development firms—they merely, by chance, got their hands on a few of those drugs, so they didn’t leave us any research samples,”
Anjou tapped his fingers on the tabletop and continued, “The Execution Bureau continued to give chase, but the drug development firm was very cunning, though they’re not the best at covering their tracks. While their drugs are still circulating underground, exposing them is only a matter of time. We’ve found the source of the drugs, many clues point to Japan.”
“Japan?” For a second, Lu Chen lost his train of thought. In his memory, Japan had always been a small country subservient to them and thrashed around a few times, but had its teeth knocked out by the eastern dragon badly.
The army of Mystic Warriors charged within the emperor’s chambers and engulfed the city in fire. The emperor bowed and kissed the general’s feet to show his submission and sent a number of children every year for the Mystic Warriors to select. Thus, Lu Chen’s squad also had members from Japan.
Reality is often more absurd than fiction. He never would have imagined himself getting employed by the empire of the West, and that land of carnage, Japan, somehow became a powerful country capable of stirring things up.
“Yes, there may be someone manufacturing these genetic drugs. Perhaps the intention of the manufacturer is not to make Death Servitors, but to conjure some greater being into existence…” As he said this, Anjou’s golden eyes slightly flared.
“Dragon Raja,” Lu Chen continued. Creating uncontrollable Death Servitors made no sense, and no organization would keep buying this sort of drug in the long-term if it were so. But if it were some drug that contained no side effects, then there would definitely be people who would be attracted by it, no matter how much of the Dragon Raja the Secret Party killed.
After all, not only did the Dragon Raja possess immense power, but they were deathless!
“Yes, perhaps that small organization did not anticipate Albert’s bloodline to be so high, causing so much havoc upon losing control. Had Albert been a weak hybrid and was executed after his first crime by the Execution Bureau, then we would not have bothered to investigate his bloodline. Thus, they were exposed.”
Although the Secret Party was meticulous, it was not possible to bring back every single Death Servitor it killed to properly analyze and study its genes. They simply killed too many of them.
It was because Albert performed too well in such a short period of time, his power rose rapidly, even becoming a half-dragon, with bone wings to boot. Of course the Secret Party would suspect that there was a problem.
“Did the Japanese branch do it?” Lu Chen suspected.
“Not sure, but the effect of such an ‘outstanding’ genetic drug would obviously not have been made by some small workshop. Although it was a half-finished product, even the school board praised the technical skill involved in it. It seems to have come from an established research institution with all sorts of advanced equipment, and seeing how their drugs have gone overseas, the production rate is very high. Since the Secret Party only recently learned of this, it perhaps may have been circulating underground for quite a long time.”
Lu Chen pondered and frowned, “What the principal means is that it is possible that this drug is circulating widely, yet we recieived no reports from the Japanese branch.”
Anjou nodded as he made a face of approval, “So, no matter where in Japan this drug was made, they would have certainly known, yet they didn’t report it to the Secret Party, which in itself is a problem. There is no way they are unrelated to this matter.”
“So, Principal, what are you thinking?” Lu Chen asked uncertainly.
Anjou waved his hand, “I’m not finished yet. This is just one of the things.”
Lu Chen thought, the “Death Servitor drug” is already circulating, but from your expression, Principal, this seems like a small deal compared to what you’re about to say?

“This matter is also related to you. It is the 3rd generation you captured in Namaqualand.”
Lu Chen froze, “Didn’t I already execute her? Did something happen?”
He thought, did the Sage’s Stone not work?
“Don’t worry, it did die, but we found something interesting,” Anjou said asd he took out a stack of documents from inside the drawer and handed it to Lu Chen.
Lu Chen flipped through them, and they were all frequency waveforms that he couldn’t understand, so he looked at the principal with a little embarrassment, “As you know, Principal, I’m not very good at this stuff.”
Anjou laughed, “These are the wavelength logs that Agent Bob recorded with his lifeform detection instrument.”
Lu Chen glanced a few more times and thought, the quality of the iron used by the Equipment is actually quite good. It was so chaotic at the time, and the fight with that 3rd generation was fierce as well. I didn’t expect that instrument to still be intact.
“This instrument, in addition to monitoring the sound frequency, can also detect electromagnetic waves thanks to the Equipment Department. After recovering the instrument, we found a continuous, electromagnetic pattern. Remember how the 3rd generation kept singing a certain song?” Anjou mentioned.
“She wasn’t just doing it to play God. She… was transmitting some kind of signal!” Lu Chen realized. The 3rd generation had been singing the entire time, but it was not a Kotodama. She was transmitting a signal through some special way.
The question was, who or what was receiving her signal? An old pager from the Dragon Age?
Obviously not. It could only be someone the same as her, or some greater ancient dragon!
Anjou nodded, “Although that mission was quite perilous, I must say you obtained a treasure for the college. The other day, the genetic comparison for the 3rd generation species came out. It was surprising—she did not belong to any known lineage.” (Note: Actually, Anjou had long known that the Japanese hybrids might be related to the White Queen.)
Lu Chen pondered, Lord of Bronze and Fire, Lord of Earth and Mountains, Lord of Sky and Wind, Lord of Ocean and Water. These were the ancestors of nearly all dragons, and all of the dragons hunted by the college over the years could be traced to their corresponding lineages, but Principal Anjou said that that 3rd generation species didn’t belong to any of them.
“Eventually, several tenured professors deduced through ancient texts that she most likely belongs to a lineage of the legendary… White Queen.”
