Starting From the Dragon Tribe
Chapter 87: Skytree
Within the traditional Japanese style room, two old men and a young man were seated, with an iron kettle of water boiling in the center.
“Chisei, you’ve done well this time,” Tachibana Masamune spoke with a smile, causing Gen Chisei to freeze. He had to come to see his old man today to talk about Erii. He hadn’t even done anything yet.
Inuyama Katsu was silent for a few moments before respectfully saying to the grandmaster, “The principal’s thoughts are hard to figure out, but for us, it is a good thing.”
He had only learned of the shocking news today, he had expected that the militaristic youth would come to him the next day, not that he would accidentally abduct the Uesugi clan head by mistake.
“That’s true. If Lu Chen had instantly associated her with us after hearing of Erii’s surname, none of this could’ve happened.”
The water boiled, and Tachibana picked up the kettle and began to rinse the tea bowls.
“Grandmaster, when do you want me to go and bring Erii back?” Only when Gen Chisei and Tachibana Masamune were alone did he call him “pops.” In front of “outsiders,” he remained respectful; this was the rule.
“No need to hurry. It seems those two children are getting along well, and they even went to the Ueno Zoo today,” Chisei looked at the steaming tea and felt a bit puzzled. Before, his old man was very nervous about Erii’s situation. If she didn’t get a serum injection for a few days, it could be very dangerous.
It seems his old man’s intent was to really set Lu Chen and Erii up together, but Pops, do you not know how difficult that is?
Chisei wanted to follow up with more questions, but Tachibana directed the topic somewhere else: the visit of the two headquarters agents.
After a general decision was made, Gen Chisei and Inuyama Katsu left, each with doubts within.
Tachibana was left alone in the room. He picked up an iPad, unlocked it with his fingerprint, and flipped through some information.
There were all sorts of records, as well as some satellite images of a maple forest burning and a strange scene of a sea of flowers…
Tachibana Masamune’s eyes had a hidden fire within.

The sun set in the west, and the bright moon rose.
The world outside the glass was a sea of neon, mingling with the twinkling stars in the sky. For a moment, one could not differentiate the sky from the earth.
The girl stepped out on the parapet to look out. An array of colors reflected in her crystalline eyes, creating the world’s most fantastic gems. The world outside’s fantastic scenery compared to it all looked dim.
The boy and the girl suddenly turned their heads to face each other, the color within their eyes seemingly not fading, a feeling of warmth reflecting off their eyes.
In the end, it was the boy who turned his head back first, and this spontaneous stare jumbled his thoughts.
He had followed Caesar’s advice and brought Erii to the Tokyo Skytree. It seemed like Erii was happy, and so was he.
It was also Lu Chen’s first time going up such a high building. He felt the great power of industrial technology and also the colorful night view of the modern city.
Their daytime tour at the Ueno Zoo didn’t go well, because the two pandas were sick for some reason, so they couldn’t see them.
Lu Chen felt that Erii was a bit disappointed, because she had written in her small notebook on the way there “I want to see the pandas.”
But the pandas were sick. It wasn’t as if he could break in and bring them out, so he could only buy two life-size panda stuffed animals for Erii.
But the current beauty of the scenery that the Skytree offered apparently made the girl forget her regrets during the day. She had been standing in front of the railing in the same position for nearly two hours just looking.
It was as if she couldn’t get tired of this same view, or as if she wanted to look at it a little more, to carve it deep within her memories. Every second, every minute, was precious.
Erii, holding a stuffed panda in her arms, picked up her notebook and wrote, “It’s beautiful.”
Lu Chen smiled and said, “I’m glad you like it.”
He also held a stuffed panda in his arms. The zoo sold them in pairs. The one he was hugging was “Huan Huan,” the male, and the one in Erii’s arms was “Xi Xi,” the female.
Originally, he wanted to send the two large stuffed animals back to the hotel, but Erii liked them so much that he gave up on the idea of it.
It just felt weird to be out and about with the stuffed pandas.
At this time, the lobby made an announcement, saying that it was about to close. Lu Chen looked at the time on the wall. It was almost ten o’clock.
“I’m a little hungry. Wanna go for a late night snack?” Because of the rush, their dinner was half-assed. The amount that they ate wasn’t enough for either of them.
Erii nodded and reluctantly withdrew her gaze, and the two took the last elevator down.
They didn’t hail a taxi, instead strolling through the streets of Tokyo.
It was just that Lu Chen looked a bit funny. At this time, he was holding… two giant panda stuffed animals.
Because he noticed that it was difficult for Erii to write in her book while holding a stuffy, so he decided to hold both of them. His face couldn’t even be seen with two pandas stuffed on either side of him. It was a good thing that the Information Department’s paparazzi weren’t here, or he would’ve been on the headlines.
The young man and woman walked through the neon forest, their shadows stretched very long. Neither said a thing, merely looking around from time to time if there was anything they wanted to eat.
Walking through the streets and alleys, the lights gradually faded away. They seemed to have come to a more quiet street.
Lu Chen wrinkled his nose to sniff and smelled a faint aroma. After eating heavy meals these two days, this smell inexplicably aroused his craving.
He moved a stuffed panda aside to see ahead and noticed a food stand ahead, which seemed to be selling ramen.
It would serve as a good midnight snack, quite filling yet light.
“Erii, will you eat ramen?” Lu Chen asked the girl beside him.
“Eat with me,” was what the notebook said. Erii could see that the other party seemed to really want to eat.
Lu Chen chuckled and took Erii to the ramen stand, took paper cloths that he had prepared and spread it on the ground and apologized to the two panda stuffies for making them lie down for a while.
“Boss, two bowls of your specialty ramen, please,” Lu Chen greeted the owner.
Initially, the owner was sitting on a small stool behind the ramen stand. Upon hearing customers arriving, he got up. Borrowing the light hanging on the stand, Lu Chen saw the ramen chef’s appearance.
He was a really old man. His forehead was full of wrinkles, and so were his hands, but his eyes were full of light, gleaming intensely.
Lu Chen thought, Japan is known as a developed country, but this old man is still selling ramen from his stand in the dead of winter. It really isn’t easy.
