Starting From the Dragon Tribe
Chapter 99: Cassell’s Confidential Talk
On the other side of the ocean, Schneider and Anjou sat opposite each other across the office desk, their expression grim.
Even the steady Anjou’s wide yet powerful forearms bulged with veins upon seeing the report and photos.
Japan indeed harbored a hybrid organization unbeknownst to the Secret Party, and not only had they developed incomplete evolutionary drugs, but they even created armies of Death Servitors!
They received a total of two reports, one that Lu Chen and co. sent, and one from the Japanese branch.
The contents were more or less the same. In fact, the Japanese branch was even more detailed, noting that the “unknown” hybrid organization’s leader had been killed, so the college should rest assured.
Hehe.
The Japanese branch knew that this matter couldn’t be concealed anymore, so it took initiative to report it, as if to say, “the problem has been handled perfectly, so the college no longer needs to intervene.”
“Would you like for the Secret Party to pressure Japan? Although from the unknown hybrid organization’s attack on Ganryuu Institute, it seems that the Yamata no Orochi isn’t in cahoots, but there must be a deeper reason for them to keep this matter hidden,” Schneider said, his voice like a worn-out bellows.
“Pressure? That has no meaning. Those bunch of Japanese still believed in the so-called ‘righteousness,’ ‘morality,’ ‘loyalty’ to this day,” Anjou’s words left Scheider somewhat confused.
Upon seeing his confusion, Anjou added, “They’re a group of completely stubborn guys who won’t back down just from a little pressure. I have a feeling that because of certain key factors, even if the Secret Party declared war on the Japanese branch, they would never give in.”
Schneider was silent for a few seconds and said, “They’re keeping a secret, and that secret… may have something to do with a thing on the level of the Dragon King.”
At the mention of the Dragon King, Schneider felt the old man across the long desk straighten a bit, the gnarled muscles under the suit tensing violently—that was an avenger, waiting to set out.
“I will consider a trip to Japan in the near future, but for the time being, I’ll leave it to the boy,” Anjou calmed down and took a sip of hot tea from the white porcelain cup in his left hand, then pushed the tablet in front of him with his right hand. After performing this series of actions, he gave a silent chuckle.
Schneider looked at the tablet. It was a series of photos from inside the computer from the Ganryuu Institute. The corpses of the serpentine Death Servitors piled up all over the floor, each of them designated by the Execution Bureau to be A-grade or above, but they were crushed by a stronger violent power and could not fight back.
This was from the Japanese branch’s report. At the end of the series of photos were words “thanking” Agent Lu Chen for his help as well as “praising” his powerful strength.
He also laughed out loud.
The intent of the Japanese branch by doing this was more than obvious—it was for alienation.
It meant that your headquarters has this little monster—are you guys really fine? If you have time to worry about our Yamata no Orochi, then why don’t you take a look at your internal problems first?
But the members of the Yamata no Orochi, who were responsible for compiling and drafting this report, obviously never had the honor of having afternoon tea with the principal, and never had they looked closely at Principal Anjou as well as the Secret Party’s Execution Bureau’s procedures.
As long as Lu Chen wasn’t the Dragon King, then no matter how abnormal and monstrous he was, Anjou wouldn’t care and not even bother to find out the reason for the teenager’s abnormal power.
As long as Lu Chen was on the side of mankind, even if he were a devilish monster, Anjou would gladly accept him.
“The data that Chu Zihang and Caesar stole has been analyzed. Ganryuu Institute captured the location of that electromagnetic wave frequency located on Mount Fuji, where there may be an underground river. They had already scheduled the start of the excavation. It’s just that the particular area of Mount Fuji is a bit special, as it is located in the vicinity of the attractions, so they are doing some preparations right now,” Schneider changed the subject. Lu Chen’s matter wasn’t worth discussing. His student’s work was always satisfactory, and the Japanese branch’s attempt at alienation was meaningless. As long the dissenting voice wasn’t within the Secret Party, it was all right.
“If that place really is hiding something, it’ll be troublesome,” Anjou put down his white porcelain cup and looked a bit grave.

Mount Fuji was one of the world’s largest active volcanoes, located west of Tokyo, across the Shizuoka and Yamanashi prefectures.
Once Mount Fuji erupted, it would be like the wrath of the gods. Tens of billions of tons of magma would be shooting straight towards the sky. The entire Japanese people would witness the sins of the gods as the thick smoke covered the sky, concealing the sky, and the thick volcanic ash accumulated on the ground as much as thirty centimeters, and the days-long acid rain that would ensue would be like the disaster of annihilation.
This was no less than a disaster like the Dragon King’s awakening, and despite the current rift between the Secret Party and the Japanese branch, no one would want to see this happen.
“Will it be… the Dragon King?” Schneider said hesitantly, but actually, what he wanted to say was whether or not it could be the… White Monarch.
But this thought was just too horrifying and horrible, so much so that he didn’t even want to think about it.
The secret history annals said that the White Monarch was defeated by the Black Emperor and had its remains trapped on the copper pillar and sunk to the bottom of the ocean, where Ghost-toothed Dragon Vipers gnawed relentlessly on them. It should be dead through and through, never to return.
“I’ll send a notice to the Japanese branch. Tell Norma to update those kids on the mission. The Secret Party must be involved in this geological investigation through and through. No concessions on that,” Anjou gently knocked the desktop. To Schneider, it was like the devil himself knocking on the door. The Yamata no Orochi should be trembling, for the devil was knocking on… their door.
Things like the unknown hybrid organization or even the Death Servitor army could be exposed to the Secret Party, but the awakening of a 2nd generation ancient dragon would be something they would never give way to.
Both sides had their own bottom line—if there was no room for negotiation, then Anjou would personally go to Japan and let the Yamata no Orochi relive the memories of being dominated by the Secret Party.
And by then, it wouldn’t only be Anjou, but a full-blown war by the Secret Party against the Japanese branch.
Hopefully, the Japanese branch would make the appropriate judgment. With Schneider’s understanding of the old man in front of him… No, the Japanese branch may know even more about the old man’s fearsomeness than himself.
This was the legendary dragonslayer himself, Hilbert Ron Anjou…
He had lived one hundred and thirty years old and faced countless enemies, yet still was living well to this day, because his enemies, whether hybrids or dragons… all died.
“I’ve already arranged it. I believe they should have already received the news of the mission by now,” Schneider replied and slid his phone to Anjou, “A message from Lu Chen. He’s applying for a better alchemic sword because he says that the Red Maple can’t stand up to his vigorous wielding.”
Anjou read it and also burst out laughing, “‘That’ thing should be ready soon too. I’ll have that old drunk catch up on work and send it to him in the next few days, but remember to tell him to keep the sword he has right now, since I recall that the Equipment Department equipped it with the Sage’s Stone.”
Schneider nodded. This really was their mistake. Perhaps they shouldn’t have recast the Red Maple. Plating the Sage’s Stone on it was like “possessing a precious pearl and throwing it away.”
