Super Spender - Chapter 481
Chapter 481: Chapter 475: Decision
Originally, Finn Lewis wanted to directly distribute dividends, giving them a certain amount of money each year. However, he later thought this method might create some good-for-nothings like Jason Wells. So, he decided to arrange jobs for them instead.
Although most of his elders lacked education, his eldest uncle was a college student, and his two younger uncles were educated and capable of doing some work. His brother-in-laws and sisters were also university graduates, so there was no problem there.
Finn Lewis could also find suitable jobs for everyone else – this was certainly better than them doing nothing at home. Simply giving them money without assigning them tasks was definitely not healthy.
“Well, Finn, I know you mean well for us, but you only need to arrange things for your sisters and brother-in-laws. We don’t know how to do much, so we won’t be of much help to your company. We won’t add to your burden,” some family members protested.
“Auntie, you’re wrong. I believe you all have your own strengths and abilities. As for yourself, you’re older, so I won’t arrange any work for you. But here’s the thing— I naturally trust my family members when assigning tasks within my company, just like the case with Jason Wells. Uncle, I’m sure you’ve noticed the massive changes in Jason Wells,” Finn Lewis responded with a smile.
“Yes, that brat. He now speaks as if he was born with Federation Language. Before, let alone the Federation Language, he couldn’t even speak Mandarin properly,” his uncle laughed, joy gleaming in his eyes despite his grumblings. This just goes to show people can be forced to improve. Jason Wells, a man who didn’t even finish middle school, can now speak the Federation Language fluently. When pushed to the brink, anything can be achieved. The potential of human beings is limitless.
However, Finn Lewis didn’t expect his family members to accomplish great things– he just wanted them to lead happy and fulfilling lives.
“Yes, I will arrange jobs that each of you can handle. Don’t worry. Additionally, I will establish a family foundation. Each family will receive a dividend of one million every month,” Finn Lewis thought for a moment and then added.
“But isn’t that too much?” questioned his uncle, “You’ve already given each of our families at least two houses, all valuing in the tens of millions. Now, you’re giving us money.
“There’s nothing wrong with that. Let’s just settle on this. If it feels wrong, everyone can help me a little more at work,” Finn Lewis said with a chuckle. He had so much money that if he didn’t lend a hand to these relatives, he could live with himself, “Additionally, if anyone wants to start any ventures of their own, they can invest the money that’s distributed each month. If the money is not enough, I can give temporary loans.”
In truth, Finn Lewis had considered all of this meticulously. Ultimately, he decided to be blunt and straightforward. Talented people would find their ways to success regardless, while arranging jobs meticulously for those without talent would be pointless. Besides, with Finn and Olivia keeping a vigilant eye on things, they would immediately be alerted to any inappropriate behaviour. If anyone turned out to be a hopeless cause, Finn wouldn’t mind gradually severing ties after all he had done his best.
Naturally, the family didn’t refuse such a generous arrangement. Kay Lee also readily integrated into Finn’s familial circles. To Finn’s parents, the expectation wasn’t to see their son get married to a fairy-like daughter-in-law, even an ordinary girl would have been perfectly acceptable. The true concern for these kindly elderly folks was to see their son get married and start a family.
Finn didn’t stay at home for long, merely for two nights. He then traveled to Legacy City with Kay Lee. Fishy Wells and Sarah Wood, along with Andy Terry who had already arrived here, followed suit. There were five cars in total in the convoy. Finn Lewis and Andy Terry rode in one car driven by Fishy Wells while Kay Lee and Sarah Wood rode in another car driven by Lewis the elder.
“… The autonomous region has given us their support. Mr. Lewis, you can choose whichever plot of land you fancy, we will support your decision. We will also do our best to fulfill your land area requirements,” Andy Terry said.
“… Hmm, I might need a rather large plot of land for my plans. We have already shortlisted some suitable locations,” Finn Lewis began, having already chosen locations confirmed by Olivia Thatcher. The land underneath these locations had enough mineral deposits, especially the additives required for constructing graphene CPUs.
“What size are we talking about?” Andy Terry swallowed nervously. Although they had the support of the autonomous region, the required area was still uncertain.
“We will need around 2000 square kilometers in total,” Finn Lewis admitted, hesitating a bit before disclosing his demand.
“Gulp,” Andy Terry choked. 2000 square kilometers! That was normally the size of a common industrial park in acres, not square kilometers. The enormity was overwhelming – all isolated provinces combined didn’t even encompass 2000 square kilometers.
“Mr. Lewis, could you clarify which areas you have designated?” Andy Terry asked, having composed himself.
Finn Lewis didn’t mince words and promptly pulled out a tablet. He brought up a map of Bale City on it and pointed out the designated areas to Andy Terry.
