Chapter 13
Roziel Evelian.
The only son of the Evelian family.
His day was simple.
“Young master. Would you like breakfast?”
“Yes.”
He woke up early in the morning, ate, and trained. After the opening of Agelisk, the training was changed from training alone to being with the trainees. However, his lifestyle did not change much.
He turned to the window. A huge forest filled his sight.
Passing through the forest where tall trees grew, the main house of the Evelian family appeared. And the main building could not be entered except by members of the family and their chosen servants.
“It’s bagels and plain yogurt. No added sugar.”
“Yes.”
The Marquis was strict and did not offer him “childish” things. This was because he was afraid that if Roziel liked sweets, the balance of his body would collapse, and he would become childish.
‘But I still want to eat it.’
He remembered the candy and chocolate he ate at the banquet. It was so sweet and delicious. Roziel became sullen, but he did not show it. He always had to be mature.
It’s sweet. Can I secretly eat it?
Roziel made up his mind to put the food given to him by the maid in his mouth. Being childish in front of others was something only children did.
‘Let’s be mature as Evelian’s successor.’
That was what he promised.
‘Hmm. Hmm.’
Oddly enough, the process was not smooth today.
Even though he emptied his mind and meditated, as usual, it was difficult to concentrate.
Was it because it was a warm day? Or…
Roziel’s gaze returned to the forest outside the window. A forest full of solitude and silence. The forest, like himself, was strangely different from usual.
‘It must be because of what happened in that forest.’
Roziel shook his head as he recalled someone’s face. I just can’t concentrate.
Just yesterday, Roziel had a special experience there.
‘…Yuria… Zeos.’
And the main cause of the special experience was a child of the same age. Who was a female.
Roziel blushed as he recalled her face. He wrapped his hands around both his cheeks. Roziel tried to fan his face, but the heat did not cool down easily.
Now was the time to get excited at the thought of meeting new people. Far from being excited, Roziel’s head was in a mess because of one person.
‘I’ve never seen anyone like that before…’
A variable that suddenly jumped into Roziel’s life. And she led Roziel to the murk. There was a lot of work to be done, and he couldn’t move as if a big stone was weighing on him.
Roziel was ignorant in his own personal matters, but he still knew roughly what the situation was like.
I mean, I mean…
Yuria Zeos, the kid said so herself…
‘What did you call it…A confession?’
She confessed to him!
Since he was born as a nobleman, he was fully aware that he had to pair with someone and continue the family line.
However…
‘I’m…I’m in love.’
He had never even dreamed of being in love with someone, and with such a pretty girl. Didn’t all of that come out of a novel? Was it even possible to date a pretty girl in real life?
‘Even… a public confession.’
Roziel’s face burned even more.
This was a huge thing. The first time he had ever received someone’s favor. Roziel couldn’t help but be thrilled.
Roziel’s hand crept up on the pillow.
Yuria wasn’t expecting it at all, but Roziel was a boy with a lot of interest in romance. He couldn’t help it. Because love was an emotion that made a man dream and enriched his life.
The hand that climbed on top of the pillow tightened.
“No, but… But we shouldn’t do this.’
He was the heir to the Evelian family. Dating in a strict knight training camp. It was something that could never happen. Raised by a strict father, Roziel was forced to suppress his instincts.
So Roziel rejected her confession the other day. He was also really cold too.
But Yuria Zeos didn’t give up. It was ridiculous, but she really seemed to like him.
He didn’t expect her to make a second confession so soon.
Yuria Zeos suggested that they go on a date at night in a crowded place. Roziel was so embarrassed that he stuttered.
“Wow, we’re still young.”
Love was something that could not happen in his life!
That’s how he defended himself and pushed her away. Roziel wasn’t enough of a bad kid to coldly refuse a girl who liked him.
‘What if you’re really waiting…’
Roziel set out on the road with his only friend, the Black Horse.
Her eyes looked so pretty to him.
He was so excited about the feelings that a child of his age gave him. The next conversation with her made Roziel curious.
Roziel grabbed his pounding chest and appeared in front of her, pretending to be defeated.
And after that…
Contrary to his expectations, Yuria was not burdensome. Rather, it was a really fun time.
Roziel’s lips curved up without realizing it.
“Young Master.” It was then when the maid awakened Roziel from his thoughts.
“Yes?”
Roziel suddenly erased Yuria’s face from his mind.
“What are you thinking about?”
“Oh, I’m not.”
“Your face seems to have turned a little red. You don’t have a fever, do you?”
“Really?”
She looked at Roziel strangely for a moment, then brought him a book.
“There’s a little time left before training. Would you like to read a book again today?”
“Oh yeah.” Roziel nodded his head.
He always had to read books when he had spare time. Books on the empire’s history, philosophy, and politics. These were things that anyone would find boring, but Roziel pretended to be indifferent to them.
“Here you go. Master, I brought you a book by a Telnamon historian today.”
“Thank you, Sally.”
Roziel sat on the bed and opened the book the maid handed him. He glanced at Sally and looked into her eyes.
“What kind of training do I have today?”
“Last time it was a swing, so this time it will be a stab or a slash.”
“Okay.”
“You have to work hard, Young Master. Don’t you think that’s the only way we can inherit the will of our ancestors?”
“I know.”
You shouldn’t have fun. Everything Roziel did was for the family. And he had to live for his family. The act of enjoying such trivial pleasures should not be discovered or caught.
Sally made a request and immediately left the room. As the sound of her footsteps receded, Roziel cautiously got up and opened the underside of the pillow.
It was the moment when Roziel became interested in romance and love. The reason which made it impossible to completely reject Yuria, who rushed at him recklessly.
<The Duke’s One And Only Love.>
It was a romance novel that Sally dropped while bringing a book to Roziel. The book, which he opened out of curiosity, completely fascinated Roziel.
Roziel carefully opened the book. It was a book he had read many times already, but maybe it was because he was still young. He couldn’t fully understand the contents of the book.
However, as the novel focused on the relationship between men and women, he was able to learn the basic knowledge about romance.
Romance was the love between men and women. The desire to be someone’s lover and the desire to monopolize them. There were deep relationships like this in the world. Roziel was surprised by this fact.
Roziel held the book tightly with both hands. Strangely, the book made him feel like he was missing out today.
‘It’s probably because of her, right?’
Soft milk-brown curly hair, short bangs, fair skin, plump cheeks, and big eyes that disappeared when she smiled.
Yuria Zeos.
It was her.
‘You want to have a romance with me.’
It was clear from what he read in the novel and from Yuria’s behavior!
…Like that, Roziel had fallen into a delusion.
‘What should I do now?’
There was no one around him, least of all someone of the opposite sex. Moreover, his father, his only family member, was so indifferent to him that he never even had a meal together with him.
In this situation, Roziel did not learn the things he should have learned and did not have the things he should have had. So he felt both happy and unfamiliar that someone was paying attention to him.
‘If someone likes me as the opposite sex.’
What should I do next?
He tried to reread the romance novel that Sally had left behind but he lacked information. More high-quality information was needed.
Roziel snuck out of the room and started walking.
