Chapter 56: Even Dogs and Cats Have a Place to Go

Li Wenyan relaxed a little when he heard that explanation.

At that moment, his phone rang again.

Li Yuan’er came into the master bedroom when Li Wenyan went out and answered the call.

She waited by her mother’s side obediently when she realized that her mother was putting on makeup.

Ou Yangqian sighed when she saw her daughter like that. She got up and stroked her daughter’s cheek softly. She even softened her voice. “You’re the young lady of the Li family. You should be generous and elegant. You don’t have to argue with just any dog or cat and taint your value.

“The dogs and cats…” Ou Yangqian was sure of herself now. “Surely, they will have to go where they should go in the end.”

Tang Li reached the Xia family before Li Wenyan.

The servants were waiting at the door for her.

She pushed open the door and got down from the car before Yuan Jiang could tell her what to do.

Suddenly, she felt something gripping her waist painfully when she stood by the car.

“Are you alright?” The servant asked her immediately.

“I’m fine.” Tang Li shook her head. Then, she saw a figure not far from her among the bushes.

Then, that small figure ran out of the bushes and disappeared in the blink of an eye.

The servant was worried. “Since Second Master Song and Old Lady Song have moved to the house next to us, he always throws his toys at Attorney General Xia and madam. Please forgive him. Let’s go and wipe away the dirt on your dress.

“That kid is rather naughty. He’s not more than seven years old. A few days ago, he had climbed up a tree with a fishing rod. When Attorney General Xia went to work, he used his fishing rod to lift his wig up.” The servant explained what she knew to Tang Li while leading her into the house. She even pointed the Pagoda Tree to her. “I just don’t know how he got up that there. The two families are neighbors and they always give each other gifts during festivals. “Minister Song?” Tang Li asked.

The servant was quite frank with her for fear that Tang Li would be displeased by what had happened just now. “Yes, it’s the Minister of Finance, Minister Song Boyan. That kid is Minister Song’s younger brother.”

In her former life, Tang Li did not encounter such an incident when she had reached the Xia family.

She stood in front of the sink and used a slightly wet towel to wipe away the dirt on her dress.

Suddenly, she felt that somebody was watching her so she turned around.

Through the half-opened window in the washroom, she found a kid lying on the window-sill at the villa opposite her.

Now, Tang Li could see how the kid looked like instead of the glimpse she had had of him at the bushes just now. It seemed that he was rather exhausted. His hair was soaked in sweat and it was quite messy. His soft apple-like face was flushed. He was holding a piece of beef jerky with his two hands and was eating it as he watched her curiously.
