Chapter 60: I Won’t Stand By Idly And Allow Anyone to Harm Me Anymore
Madam Xia did not continue speaking but what she meant was quite obvious.
If Madam Xia and Ou Yangqian did not rush to the scene on time, Xia Lang would surely have raped Li Yuan’er.
Surely, both Ou Yangqian and her wife would be unwilling to let her youngest daughter to be married to their son.
By then, they would not be in-laws but sworn enemies instead!
Tang Li watched the mess coldly. She did not feel that Li Yuan’er was pitiful. In her former life, what was waiting for her was even worse than what Li Yuan’er was enduring right now.
Nobody hugged and consoled her. Li Wenyan had even slapped her.
She had held back her tears and put on her clothes again with trembling hands under everybody’s stare.
No one gave her a hand.
It seemed like Li Yuan’er was in heaven now.
Moreover, Tang Li was the one who had designed the heaven for her.
Somebody nudged at Tang Li’s body at that moment. She titled her head and found that it was not the servant. She lowered her head and saw a boy with a pair of binoculars around his neck. There was a short-legged corgi beside him and were trying their best to get into the room.
Tang Li recognized him as the boy who lived next to the villa.
How did he get in here?
The boy noticed her stare. He looked up at her.
Then, he sneered at her. He sounded like he was doing something right. “Can’t I come and take a look?”
Tang Li was speechless.
The childish voice soon captured Li Wenyan’s attention.
Tang Li stopped staring at him but she soon realized that Li Wenyan was staring at her. “Did you lock your younger sister in the bedroom?”
He seemed calm but it was only the calmness before the great thunderstorm.
If Tang Li nodded her head and admitted to that, surely Li Wenyan would give her a slap.
Tang Li looked at Li Wenyan calmly. “Yuan’er has always liked to shift the blame to the others and it’s not the first time she has blamed me. You’re our father and you can act unfairly. But, can you please stop showing your bias so blatantly?”
“She’s denying it!” Li Yuan’er grabbed Ou Yangqian’s hand and screamed aloud. “I’m not lying. She locked me up in the bedroom.”
Ou Yangqian hugged her daughter tightly. “Don’t get anxious. Listen to me, calm down first.”
Tang Li laughed at herself when she heard that.
“What are you laughing at?” Li Wenyan scolded her coldly. “How could you laugh when your younger sister is like that?”
Tang Li retorted. “Otherwise, should I cry like her?”
To the servants from the Xia family, they could see clearly that one of the young ladies from the Li family remained quiet by the door even when she was sad while Li Yuan’er was crying loudly.
Li Wenyan’s bias was quite clear.
The younger sister on the bed did not respect her elder sister at all.
Who would treat her elder sister so rudely?
Madam Xia voiced out now, “Ah Li, don’t make a joke like that. Yuan’er is your younger sister. If you have any opinion, you should tell us. You shouldn’t be playing a prank like this!”
Now, what the Xia family needed the most was a scapegoat compared to the Li family.
Tang Li was just the right one for them.
If it was the Li family’s fault, then surely the accident could be forgotten as time went by.
‘Your daughter’s the one who has made a prank here. Moreover, our son is a victim too. How could you blame us?’
The Xia family decided to take that move.
Then, everybody turned to look at Tang Li.
It was not a trial but a conviction.
Tang Li felt that it was rather ironic given how things were now. They always liked to blame her, be it in her former life or in this life.
But, she would not stand by idly and allow anyone to harm her anymore this time around.
“If I’m not wrong, this door can only be locked from the inside.” Tang Li touched the door and took a deep breath. She glanced at Li Wenyan and the others. “Who could have locked her up if Li Yuan’er was unwilling?”
