That would be worth it.
He bent his back slightly and his eyes gleamed darkly. He then placed his palms beside the pillow to support his weight.
He asked softly,
“Can you… fall in love with me?”
The eyelashes of the girl beneath him shuddered and she opened her eyes slowly. A pair of gentle and clear brown eyes stared right back at him with an inexplicable emotion.
The young man fluttered his thick eyelashes as tiny, adorable dimples appeared on his cheeks.
He bent over slightly and placed his hands beside her shoulders. Taking his time to climb onto the bed, he pressed his beautiful face against the crook of her neck. He brushed against her lightly. His usual soft voice rang. “Lai En, you’re awake.”
He paused before speaking softly again,
“Since you’re awake, why did you pretend to be asleep?”
Yu Chu allowed him to hug her as she gazed blankly at the ceiling. She thought absentmindedly, Of course… That’s because I wanted to know your thoughts.
She tossed and turned in bed the entire night, feeling worried about the pain he felt as he walked. She wondered if the dagger would end up in her body… She pondered in a daze about the reason if he stabbed her. And what it would mean if he didn’t hadn’t.
She continued wondering until a kiss landed on her forehead, accompanied by the young man’s voice which sounded like a sigh…
The dust had finally settled.
The young man moved away from her and narrowed his icy blue eyes to watch her. Yu Chu returned his gaze, looking dazed. Her mind was in a mess right now and she was at a loss for words.
“It’s good that you’re awake.”
The beautiful young man suddenly smiled.
An Moer’s clear eyes, which resembled the peach blossoms that filled the air in spring, were bright and loving. He gently held her wrist, and placed the other hand on her head. There was an odd smile on his face.
The young man gently tapped her with her long, fair fingers as his eyes gleamed darkly. In a low voice, he spoke,
“For you, I have reduced myself to this plight. You obviously don’t hate me, so why do you have to…”
He didn’t finish his sentence.
Yu Chu unconsciously shook her head. “I…”
“Lai En, don’t say it.” The young man suddenly smiled as soft dimples appeared subtly on his fair and smooth cheeks. Gently, he said, “I don’t want to hear such words.”
His bright eyes twinkled as he studied her quietly. Softly, he said,
“I like you the most.”
The girl widened her eyes.
She gazed at An Moer in disbelief.
A long, fair hand covered her eyes. The young man said softly,
“Lai En, what should I do? I really like you so much. I really want to hide you so that I can be the only one to see you.”
