Talent Store - Chapter 6
The Cloud’s Dungeon (3)
Evan tried to look up at the gray orc, struggling with his dizzy head.
The gray orc grabbed the sword in his eyes and was approaching Evan, with furious eyes.
“Damn it.”
His attack seemed nothing to the gray orc, and it looked not even a little bit unfazed. Evan was running out of ideas.
‘It is impossible to deal with gray orcs without aura talent.’
He felt desperate. However, he couldn’t sit down like this.
Still, the reason he was able to fight this much was because of his efforts. If it hadn’t been for that, he would have already been torn into pieces.
Evan gritted his teeth and clenched his fist. Without a sword, he was going to fight with his bare hands. He had no intention to sit down and accept death in vain.
It was then.
“It’s Martin!”
“The wolf in the cloud!”
People cheered. Martin, who appeared soon, had a great sword and overpowered the gray orcs at once.
The aura of Martin’s sword shook the gray orc’s outer shell. As he looked at it, Evan thought that what he did was in vain.
He had to risk his life for something so easy to overcome for Martin. Even so, the loser that he is was now falling with blood.
After processing the gray orc, he noticed Martin coming for him. Perhaps he was relieved that the danger had disappeared, and Evan was finally relieved by looking at Martin’s appearance.
* * *
“Are you okay?”
Martin said as Evan opened his eyes. The familiar scenery came into view, and the disgusting smell from Martin’s medicinal herbs stimulated the tip of his nose.
‘It’s Martin’s house.’
It was a place he frequently visited while learning sword fighting, so he quickly recognized it.
Martin said with a smile.
“Why did someone who doesn’t have aura rush to the gray orc? Fortunately, your injuries are not deep, but just in case, you should drink this. Even if the smell is a little disgusting, the effect will be good.”
The shock that hit his abdomen was quite massive. While he faced the Gray Orc, he persisted at will, but Evan lost his mind as soon as the battle was over.
Martin gave Evan the needed treatment rather than taking him to the Cloud family. In fact, some people’s words annoyed him so much.
It was Evan, not anyone else, who stopped the gray orcs until he heard the news and came.
He did a great job without having an aura, but people’s sunglasses did not come off. Some praised Evan’s courage, but many thought that it was also stupidity.
In fact, gray orcs are not a difficult opponent for aura-based swordfighters. Martin quickly overpowered it.
Looking at Evan, who almost lost his life against such a monster, people thought of Evan’s image they were familiar with, a loser. Instead of praising Evan’s courage, they looked down at him. And again, Martin, who couldn’t bear hearing what the people said, brought Evan to his home.
He was wondering if Evan, who was treated like this, would be able to receive proper treatment if he went home. That is why he treated him.
“thank you.”
Evan got a black medicine that Martin gave him. His stomach was throbbing because of the disgusting smell, but he drank it because it was good for recovery.
Martin, who gazed at Evan’s face, said what he was thinking suddenly.
“Oh, while sleeping, an old man came.he said he wanted to talk to you, so he went into my house, but would you like to see him?”
“old man?”
No one came up in Evan’s head. Evan nodded and told him that he would meet the man.
After a while, an old man came into the room. The gray-haired old man wasn’t anyone Evan knew. The old man who faced Evan approached him with a smile.
“You saved many lives because of your courageous actions. You did an excellent job.”
“no.”
Evan had mixed feelings about the old man.
Martin showed a slight embarrassment when the person in the house seemed to have no face with Evan.
“It is not easy to be willing to give your life for the greater good. I saw how good you are on the inside, apart from your helplessness.”
The old man’s story was strange. The old man, who spoke for so long, immediately stopped talking, then hesitated for a moment and opened his mouth.
“I think your good deed deserves compensation. That’s why I will reward you on behalf of the people who were there. How do you want to be rewarded?”
With the question, Evan felt confident seeing the eyes of the old man staring at him.
‘I am not an ordinary person.’
The old man was not an ordinary person. Is that so? Evan was unsure.
“Thank you.”
* * *
It was the outskirts of Yeongji, where he got cold and left Martin’s house and followed the old man. On the way together, the old man said he ran a store.
He said that he usually doesn’t go outside, but sometimes he can’t pass up when he sees those who do good things like Evan.
While talking about this and that, the old man arrived at his destination.
“Here it is.”
The old man said, pointing at the run-down building. Evan looked at the building and the signboard and shook his head.
‘What kind of store are you running? I don’t think you’re dealing with ordinary things. ‘
The signboard was not even readable because the letters blurred over the years. After that, he could confirm that it was a store because he read the word’ Store,’ but he couldn’t figure out exactly what the store was for.
Evan followed the old man into the store. The old door opened with an unpleasant sound.
Good profit.
The inside was quite clean, unlike the exterior. However, even after checking the interior, Evan’s question did not disappear.
It is because he could not find the exact information about the store even though they came inside. If the items sold by the store are on display, he may have guessed something, but the inside was quite empty.
He thought the store might have been ruined by the fact that there were no products on display. Evan said carefully.
“That… … I don’t think you are running a store anymore.”
“No deal hasn’t been made recently, but it’s still a business. But there are no customers.”
“Is that so? May I ask what kind of store you are running?”
He thought it might be a store that sells illegal items. That’s a sufficient explanation of the products that are not on display.
The old man stepped forward to Evan’s question. The old man stopped walking in front of the desk, which looked like a counter, and then turned around to face Evan. The old man said, meeting Evan’s gaze that was full of questions,
“This is a place to sell talent.”
“Talent?”
“Yes.”
The old man’s laughter grew thicker. Evan couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
“Welcome to the Talent store.”
