Terrarium Adventure - Chapter 17
Boxes the size of my fist were stacked up to the ceiling with a large question mark in the middle. Next to it, there are items that can be acquired with a brochure saying the probability.
“Damn. What are these houses?”
Images of different house shapes had a probability of 0.1% sign located on the top of the brochure.
There is a tunnel, hut, shrine, and an old castle. There were different types.
“It is very efficient furniture to decorate a limited artifact space in an optimal state! If your terrarium artifact hasn’t expanded completely yet, this item is the best!”
Perfect! A mini house! That would go well with Daisy and that would look good on Mesquite and that one would be loved by Elder… There are so many things I want from here and I was going crazy.
As I looked at each picture, I was sorting out the wish list. The house and the white fountain which gushes out clean water were very attractive. There is also a rainbow. The probability isn’t the problem. I can draw until I win.
“Hmm, I will buy all the random boxes here! From here to there!”
“Excessive gambling can harm your mental health. Our workshop focuses on that policy and we sell a limited amount to each druid!”
“Wait! I want to buy them! Is there any reason for it? If you worry about mental health from the beginning, then why is there a drawing system?”
Take my diamonds! I will increase your sales! Despite my irritation, the desk clerk said it was their rule and gave an awkward smile. How depressing. Why can’t I do infinite drawing with diamonds…
I didn’t have any other choice than to accept the reality and paid for a random box in front of me. My limited purchase quantity was 200. With a total of 15 diamonds for each box, a total of 3,000 diamonds disappeared. Also, as a bonus for purchasing, I got bags of lucky tickets.
Then, small amounts of guests came near me. Oh, let’s open a random box. Let’s look! It’s fun to watch someone do a draw.
The first box gave off a wooden fence piece.
What the… Looking at the brochure, the probability of getting a wooden fence was 80%. In other words, it was a dummy item. It was an item used to fill up the quantity and manipulate the probability. I didn’t look back and put it off to the side.
“If you are throwing it away, can you give it to me?” the person who swiftly grabbed the box asked me. Ah, I’m throwing it away so do whatever want. No, wait.
“It’s fine for you to pick it up, but give me the lucky ticket.”
“Well, I didn’t expect to win it, so here!”
I received a star-shaped paper with a number.
“Can I give you the lucky ticket and pick up things you don’t need as well?”
“Sure.”
Since then, people nearby handed me the lucky ticket. It felt a bit like farming by cheating by creating tons of sub-characters…
The lucky ticket was collected well and put it inside the robe pocket. Then I opened the other box.
White fence, steel fence, fence with thorns, golden fence, I will give this to Elder, stone fence, fence with fake flower…
Are you kidding me? I’m going to collect all the goddamned fences in this world.
I know I’m buying it, but this game has a damn low probability. People nearby whispered God of fences with no luck.
Those words were hurting me… I opened many boxes but I didn’t see anything other than fences.
“Is this perhaps a fence box? There are only fences!”
“The items you can acquire are listed on the brochure.”
“There are only fences! It’s not a random box, it is a fence box!”
“I can’t help you with the probabilities. You can’t refund the items after using the box to check the contents.”
Did you think I was going to ask for a refund? Refunds aren’t a problem; the problem is that I have a limited amount of purchasable random boxes and they are giving me only fences! I can build a house with these fences! I would understand getting all the fences, but please remove the limited number of purchases!
“Mr. Druid. What are you doing?”
Daisy and Elder came back from the normal field. Unlike Elder who had an empty box, Daisy still had lots of diamonds. Why aren’t you using diamonds?… Are you saving them?
While giving diamonds to Elder who was asking for more, I looked at Daisy.
Do I need to teach her how to splurge with diamonds? It seemed like she was hiding something behind so she probably bought something.
“Elder. Nice timing. Get me a lucky buff.”
“What are you doing?”
“It’s a box that gives random items and I’m getting dozens of fences! I want to get a water fountain and houses as well. I want something better than fences!”
Fences, fences, fences. It felt like my brain was breaking down.
All of sudden, Elder’s eye rims turned messy. He seemed to see me as an addicted gambler.
“Why are you trying to use my luck buff for such things?”
“Hey, this isn’t for me. Huh? It’s for the best. For the Terrarium artifact huh? Imagine a wonderful fountain with water flowing from it! It’s not made out of gold but there is a shrine as well! Huh?”
Actually, it is correct that it is good for me.
“I gave it to Mesquite just now so I can’t use it.”
Elder, who was convinced by my words, gave a sorry look. Ah, then he is useless other than wasting diamonds instead of me. Wait, the good-looking face is useful in many ways. It made me feel better after getting endless fences.
“Hey, Daisy! Can you open a box here? Just open it.”
Elder, who I thought would use diamonds as soon as he could, seemed to be curious about the random box so he came closer. Mesquite came back secretly looked closer at the random box brochure.
“If I choose a good item, will you feel better?”
“Of course. As long as it’s not a fence! Don’t feel pressured and open the box. Have a look. Just open the box… oh, there is a lot.”
For the first time, I opened a box with lots of things other than a fence. I was excited to open it and it was a set of ten damn white fences!
“Wow, you are improving! Ten-set fences have a 15% probability!”
People who were picking the fences congratulated. What’s the difference between one fence and ten fences? Gosh, they are the same! Anyway, the desk clerk picked up the fence which I threw away.
“See… It’s easy…”
You can do it. Daisy gave me the box with lots of diamonds and grabbed a scattered random box near me.
Then, she opened the lid. Surprisingly, there was an item other than the fence for the first time.
Vine supporter. There was a manual that said it comforted vine-type driards when stationed on a terrarium artifact.
Other things came out but they were useless to me. However, as soon as I threw them away, two watchers had an argument over who would pick up the goods.
“Did a mediocre item come out?”
I touched Daisy’s hair as she seemed a bit sad.
“No, you are doing completely fine! It’s my first time seeing an item other than fences. Open more boxes!”
“I want to open it as well.”
Elder grabbed a box nearby and opened the lid. The box which Elder opened had a weird purple mushroom in it.
The manual said that when it was stationed at a terrarium artifact, it gave off an energy bonus to Driards on a normal field. Oh…
“Wow… Lucky sign.”
“I want to open it again!”
All of sudden, Daisy became passionate about opening boxes and randomly opened more. Daisy seemed to be lucky. Random boxes that continued to give me fences were different in Daisy’s hands as the plastic palm tree, rocks with shells, a net bed, and a parasol came out.
All of them didn’t give a single bonus to driards and weren’t suitable for the background which I aimed for, but the items Daisy picked had single-digit probabilities.
However, the box that Elder grabbed had items that were good for me. He managed to pick trivial bonuses for normal field-wild driards and wood-type driards.
A white steel bench or a light stand with a vine is a pretty item that would look perfect on a normal field.
Mesquite opened a few boxes for fun but she didn’t have much luck and picked up some fences. Ironically, that really comforted me. You could justify yourself when everyone screwed up in drawings. Only the lucky one becomes lucky.
“Hey, kiddo. Jay doesn’t have a river field driard, and where are you going to use a fish chair?”
Elder teased Daisy who was way smaller than him. Daisy turned furious and stared back at Elder.
No wonder the two driards had a bad relationship. It was all Elder’s fault. Daisy was shivering and held the box tightly which she was about to open. There was a breaking sound coming out of the box. Daisy was kind and lovely but she also had a temper.
However, the box which opened to the side instead of the lid released a shining white light. All of a sudden, it felt like a firework exploding inside the head.
“Wow! Awesome! This is the rainbow I was looking for!”
If there is no house, I sincerely wished to get a fountain with a higher probability and it came out finally.
