Terrarium Adventure - Chapter 19
I thought about it after taking the case out separately while looking at the ring. The performance was for Elder, but the driard I picked was Daisy… Those two don’t get along.
I slightly slipped the ring on while holding Daisy’s small hands. Daisy’s red hair and ruby ring looked good.
Elder looked at it and whispered, ‘It’s mine,’ with an anxious look.
“Mr. Druid. I don’t need this ring. There is a 3-month gap before my battle bonus. I wouldn’t mind if it was a 1-month gap….”
Well, the ring is too good to be used as decoration. Even if it is a special rank accessory, it’s useless when it is not given to the appropriate driard.
“Elder, look at this. Daisy, who chose you, also got an exclusive accessory for you. Shouldn’t you bow to her? Stop calling her kiddo and be nice to her.”
I gave the ring to Daisy so that Daisy and Elder would become closer and re-establish their relationship. I could give it directly to Elder but I needed to make sure that Daisy picked the ring for Elder.
Daisy looked while holding the ring. Elder looked at the ring while ‘waiting’. It looked like a puppy waiting for a snack. It did.
All of sudden, Daisy’s lip angle went up.
“Do you want it?”
Daisy held the ring part with two fingers and shook it in front of Elder. All of sudden, Mesquite burst out with small laughter.
“That looks like… right, Master Jay. It looks very similar to kid Elder sometimes. To be exact, you are the one who is playing with kid Elder while holding diamonds.”
This is why I can’t do anything in front of Daisy. How nice and lovely can Daisy be…! What did you learn from me…
Thinking about the day when unwanted things happened, pride and grade rank had a correlation among the Driards. On that day, unique ranked driards were intimidated by Elder. Of course, Mesquite was beyond recognition.
Elder was a unique rank that the driards look up to and treated low-ranked Daisy like that so Daisy must feel hurt.
As I expected, Elder’s frown expressed his pride. The hand holding the staff had force. Oh, don’t make your pretty face like that!
“Elder, special rank. Special. Blink blink! Battle bonus for July! If you fight with Daisy, she won’t give you the ring.”
Daisy seemed relaxed although she made Elder furious. Daisy was in control. Although she was a normal rank, she seemed to have a high temper.
Right. She could stay anywhere without being intimidated. Unlike the beginning when she looked stifled, it was good to see her confidence.
Elder barely managed to resolve his internal dilemma. Just like what Mesquite did to me, he went down on his knee to Daisy. He put his pride down over a ring.
Now they were sharing eye contact from the same height. Elder put one hand on Daisy. Then he used his handsome face to look at Daisy.
“Give me.”
It looked like he was proposing to her. Although the ring-giving was reversed, I was laughing a lot. I laughed so hard while hanging onto Mesquite.
People all around gave their attention and focus by whispering what’s going on, is he proposing, or begging turned into a rumor as all were focused due to me receiving 1st place.
“I’m gracious like Mr. Druid so I will stop here.”
The sassy look stopped. She gave off a gracious face after having all the fun.
Elder eventually got the ruby ring on his middle finger. There was a light red aurora around Elder after he wore a ring. Oh, a special effect.
Now that he has a ring, he will be calm for a few hours, but he has his personality. I imagined the two getting into an argument shortly.
Now, let’s level up as we’ve got all the items we need! My commitment made an old man who came all of sudden to hand me a piece of paper. The old man who appeared like a ghost scared me.
Mesquite wrapped my shoulder with a surprised face.
“I didn’t know you would be this surprised. I thought he was not harmful so I left you alone.”
“Druid. Are you ready for a journey? Please help me. I’m the administrator of the 26th terrarium.”
It felt like a quest. A quest for beginners. The main quest: tutorial! It looks like an NPC who gives the first quest!
Excited, I smiled to show that I was a very kind person with a face where I would do quests for anybody.
Are you looking for someone to do a quest? Here I am!
I already got the gear, I chose from random boxes, and I picked out characters before the tutorial but Korean users had the tendency of not doing as they are told.
Sometimes, they would go off the road and try a map, kill an NPC with double damage and the manager would send a warning as he’d be upset about the user’s behavior. That’s what you call playing the game properly.
Also, I have more money than those who pay for games so I used money as much as possible. That’s what I call private spending. Private tutor in gaming!
Before receiving the beginner’s quest, I’d skip monsters with specs beyond the beginner level, and I acquired a silver spoon aiming for a high rank!
Still, I should get a quest like a manual! Games are composed of appropriate mundane work and quests! Finally, I get to try a quest!
I wish there was an achievement system as well.
“What should I do?”
“It seems like…. Your soul has not grown a lot.”
Damn, is there a minimum level to start a quest? Perhaps, does this game have a system where I need to reach a certain level by following the instructions to gain experience and level up? But I’m a big player that doesn’t care about doing things the normal way.
The old man tried to take the paper away from me so I dodged it. Miss! Miss!
“No! Look! I’m not sufficient, but my driards are outstanding!”
They aren’t part of the beginner’s deck! Although I’m a low level, I made specifications to cover it up! I appealed by putting Mesquite in front. Look at it. I have a special rank!
Mesquite supported my ideas. She surrounded my shoulder while laughing as she put out her shield to strike a pose. Wow… wonderful…
“It’s a bit risky…”
High difficulty means good compensation!
“You came to the right person! It’s me! Although your head says no, your chest tells you I’m the right person! Let’s get to the point now.”
The old man told me to “open the paper” with an unsatisfied face. The paper was equivalent to the quest window. The paper was quite long so Mesquite held the top part. Thankfully, I was able to read what was inside at my eye level.
A giant tree was drawn in the middle, and below it, there was a picture that looked like an ant house.
Is the giant tree the world tree? The old man pointed to one part of the ant house and said it was 26th terrarium where we were located.
It’s a world map. Then he pointed at X where it has been drawn over with ink. It said number 28.
“Recently, the 28th terrarium has been burnt down due to a fire. It’s strange. The terrarium covered by the tree branch can’t be dared by flame, especially since 20 terrariums are close to the tree. The protection power from the branch is strong.”
Speaking of which, Daisy also said the same thing.
I listened to the old man’s words and looked down at the map. The picture looked fine even if it went over 50. From the ’60’s, the number of Xs increased and it was obsolete after 100.
“The flame is getting stronger but it’s not strong enough to burn down the 28th terrarium. Certainly, there are many druids and driards over there although it may be less than here. If it was really dangerous, the surrounding terrarium would cooperate.”
Mesquite agreed with the old man. Even if the flame was the only threat to the tree, the tree still had strength. Her face was full of pride and trust for the tree. There was no doubt.
“That’s why all 20 terrariums are in an emergency including the 26th terrarium. That’s because we may not be safe as well.”
“You want to know the cause.”
“Correct. It’s better to fix it if you see a clue for a solution and know the exact reason. Actually, we dispatched many druids for investigation before you, however, nobody has returned so far.”
The end of the paper said, ‘For the sake of the 26th terrarium, we request you to investigate the 28th terrarium.’
Finally, it was stamped by a green wooden stamp.
