Terrarium Adventure - Chapter 22
It seemed like a choice to overcome the weakness of having a small body. It looked like an aggressive wasp penetrating a poisonous needle. Daisy seemed totally different, as I thought she was a child. She is a Driard as well. An attack type.
I thought of Mesquite’s fierce eyes when she penetrated the lance on the bad guys on the street corner and Elder, who didn’t care about cutting the opponent with a leaf-like skewer. Among them, Daisy was also a Driard.
There was a loud sound as if there was a bomb, and a dust cloud and black ash were spreading around Daisy. There wasn’t damage, but a wind that bothered my eyes; still, Mesquite held a shield while standing in front of Elder and me.
It didn’t seem that scary compared to my worries. Did Daisy manage to defeat it at once? Looking at Daisy’s strong force, it felt like somehow the fire turned off.
Maybe it was a rookie monster that can be killed by one hit that made Mesquite’s warning less serious.
All of a sudden, Elder raised his staff. There was a huge flame following Daisy as she jumped from the dust cloud.
Daisy managed to dodge by turning her body in the air. At the same time, Elder’s white light followed up. When Daisy’s feet touched the ground, the flame continued to follow.
That dangerous moment made me feel surprised. I closed my mouth to prevent myself from yelling.
When I saw Daisy barely dodging the flame, it felt like my heart was rolling from the stairs.
The three defenses that Mesquite was talking about could be discovered when a sand wall coming from the ground blocked the flame that Daisy couldn’t dodge.
Two more times and there was a sudden insecure feeling.
“What should I do… should I tell her to come back now?”
“Jay. Daisy is doing better than I thought. She has fast steps, so she has already overcome three risks. The battle has begun already. This isn’t something you can take back easily.”
I settled myself from thinking I should send Mesquite as the monster’s difficulty was higher than I expected. If that was the weakest monster, it would become worse, and it wouldn’t be easy.
I can’t exclude Daisy every time from the battle so I should trust her now and cheer for her. It may give the impression that I don’t trust Daisy. Daisy is working so hard!
Daisy avoided the flame rising up once again by slipping to the ground. Daisy knew she couldn’t dodge once she moved to the air as the flame could attack her when she returned to the ground.
Although it is a low rank, it’s the only attack type Driard. It’s clear that it is specialized, but if I’m afraid every time and can’t trust Daisy, then it will be bad for her. My intimidation can’t block the opportunity to grow.
The explosive firework-like flame made the sand defense wall pop up once again, and it almost made me change my mind. The flame’s force must be scary, but Daisy looked for chances while calmly dodging the fire attacks.
Now, there was a valid attack, but the fire seemed like it didn’t receive any damage.
“You need to aim for a critical hit! Fire has strong power! Don’t think about slowly extinguishing the fire!”
Mesquite instructed Daisy with a loud voice.
When small hand wind is waved to the candle, the candle has weaker fire, but it doesn’t turn off. Instead, it burns up again.
However, when a large fan or wind is blown, the fire turns off. That’s what Mesquite made it sound like.
What did it mean when Mesquite said before the battle if you can’t swallow once, swallow many times? There must be a know-how, but why isn’t she saying it out loud?
When the last sand wall popped up, all chances for Daisy to become invincible were depleted. Then, I chewed my dry lips and prayed for Daisy’s victory.
The flame seemed to be angry against Daisy, who didn’t get captured by the fire. It began to restrict Daisy’s movement in many directions by diverting the flame.
Then, the flame caught the end of Daisy’s boots. However, at the same time, Elder’s white light sent by swinging the staff defended it before creating a smoke.
Speaking of which, Elder’s response speed was extremely fast. Whenever there was a risky moment for Daisy, Elder’s white light followed.
“Dodge as far as you can! Once there is a fire, it’s impossible to extinguish!”
Elder shouted while looking at Daisy.
Daisy, who had to dodge many flames at once, was still agile, but she seemed tired. There were many times where she contacted with the flame. Elder’s white light exploded to make a bright scene.
If I become unstable, Elder won’t be able to focus, so I was holding my hand firmly while trying to calm myself.
At that moment, it seemed like Daisy was whispering something. I couldn’t find out what she was saying as she dodged while stepping back and stabbing the knife on the ground.
However, that flame…. It seems like it became bigger than the beginning. Is it just a misunderstanding? I am certain it was my head’s size in the beginning, but now it’s big as a backpack. From afar, it’s big as a campfire.
“The flame got bigger! Mesquite! The fire is bigger! Can it level up instantly?”
“Jay, that’s because the flame absorbed Daisy’s power. Driards can become a source of food for the flame. Now, Daisy is the same as a log in front of a stove. That’s why I said it’s bad when things get dragged out. The flame is getting stronger by burning Daisy.
How cruel…! I need to call back Daisy regardless of growth or experience. I don’t want Daisy to die again. When I was trying to shout for her to come back, Mesquite stopped me by raising her hand.
“My master, Jay. Your insecure feeling is being sent to Daisy by the strongly connected soul. I know you are nervous. However, you need to trust her more. That’s what you need to do.”
“Don’t worry too much. It seems like Daisy knows what she is doing. Now she understands Mesquite’s advice. The reason Mesquite didn’t give precise advice is that it’s her first time seeing derivatives of Daisy’s kind. Giving advice without knowing Daisy’s characteristics can be harmful to Daisy so that’s why Mesquite wanted Daisy to discover it by herself.”
Elder spoke in a soft voice, which calmed me. However, his eyes were focused on Daisy. Although they trusted Daisy, the owner felt scared.
I shouted, ‘I trust you,’ although Daisy probably couldn’t be able to hear my voice. That’s the best I could do without bothering her during the battle.
The flame turned thinner. It was spreading and started to oppress Daisy in every direction. I tried not to become nervous while thinking that Elder would use his recovery skill on time if there was danger.
Daisy straightened her back after keeping herself low to dodge all the time. Then, she turned her upper body and swung the sword like a baseball bat.
A strong wind made of red flower leaves… the fire was cut into half.
Wow! The fire acted up against Daisy’s valid hit for the first time.
Did it disappear? I was trying to do a ceremony by holding two fists in happiness… The fire moved after splitting into two. Damn, it doesn’t die.
It became smaller as it was split, but the flame moved well. Daisy was looking to see if the flame merged again still, but she sent a sharp wind once again with the flower leaves.
The fire became smaller and became four small flames. Isn’t it more dangerous if the number of flames increases?
All of a sudden, Mesquite swung the lance by stepping forward. The sandpile coming from the lance hit three flames.
The flames hit by the sand stopped attacking Daisy and headed towards Mesquite by changing direction.
“Step back further.”
Elder dragged me towards the back. Meanwhile, he was giving a buff to Mesquite by swinging the staff.
Is this trolling? I just witnessed provoking skills that tanks use in real life! For a moment, I thought I was watching a trailer video for the game.
Daisy stabbed the sword at the center of a small flame. The struggle, in the beginning, disappeared in a matter of moments. Then, without delay, she ran toward the fire that was aiming for Mesquite.
When two knives were stabbed into two flames, the fire was extinguished like a candle fire.
The dashing speed didn’t decrease. There was a plant stem coming out of Daisy’s hands. She held onto the knife’s holder like a whip and put force into both of her hands while stopping.
The stem that held the knife gave a strong final shot to the flame-like an iron mace.
Now, all the fire was extinguished!
At that moment, there was a pleasant feeling deep inside my heart. It felt like something that removed nervousness and fatigue.
Daisy was out of breath as she was still passionate and looked at Mesquite’s shield.
“Outstanding! It’s a great performance for the first battle.”
Mesquite complimented Daisy while laughing. Then, she looked at me for a bit. I was focused on the battle that ended rapidly. I woke up after seeing Mesquite’s attention.
“…Proud of you! My Driard! Daisy!”
I hugged Daisy by running into her. Daisy was full of injuries. Now I understand why the dealer was surrounding her. There was a flame in every direction so you couldn’t fight without protection.
Daisy gave a sigh and relaxed. Her body became loose after releasing the tension in her body.
“Haha…”
“It was really cool! You looked like a bee while flying! I couldn’t catch up as you were very fast!”
I hid my nervous feelings and intensively complimented Daisy.
I told how agile she was when she dodged the flame, how awesome it was when she gave a valid hit, not to mention the braveness despite being scared and the intuition skill to find ways in such a dangerous situation.
Even now, I’m explaining every single scene of the fierce battle, and Elder came up close.
“You struggled with the small flame. You still have a lot to do, kiddo.”
“Daisy, he talks like that, but he is good at healing. The best supportive character!”
If there was a meter level in this game, Elder’s healing quantity would skyrocket. There was a reason why he seemed arrogant all the time.
“Thank you. It was really helpful! Lights appeared whenever there was a risk, and it helped me face it comfortably!” Daisy laughed and told Elder.
They didn’t get along in the past, but now it doesn’t seem like it anymore.
Elder said that he was just paying off the ring.
It seemed like Elder was rushing me for the diamonds because he was shy against Daisy’s gratitude.
