Terrarium Adventure - Chapter 26

[Master! Should I load the diamond here?]
[Master! What is this?]
Ya. What was this? From the looks of it, it seemed like something related to the certificate? I stopped the dwarves that were trying to dig and empty out the diamonds with a shovel all of a sudden. I should do something about them treating the diamonds thoughtlessly.
“Take care of it. Don’t just shovel it with diamonds and end up killing it. Take it somewhere with good sunlight and place it nicely then I’ll come over with more diamonds.”
Since I wasn’t sure what it was yet I shall skip out on it. Maybe someday it will be beneficial as long as I keep it aside.
I tapped on the mail icon to see the certification again. This feeling of wanting to repeatedly see this…the process from before repeated and the pop-up window appeared.
After joining this game it had been a while since I saw a game like system screen, so it had been rather unsatisfactory. But to see something visibly presented on a screen made me so proud I could go mad.
What did I have to do to level up more? Was being an owner similar to real estate ownership?
Would I be able to fulfill my unfulfilled dream in the real world of owning my own house? Would I be able to obtain these sorts of certifications other than the 26th terrarium?
I was smiling to myself when elder who looked curious approached me and popped his head next to mine.
“What is it?”
I needed to be wary of elder. He nearly made my heart drop. The difference between seeing his face from a distance away and having it right next to yours was a world’s difference. It was a very wise face and beneficial to look at but harmful for the heart.
I tried to calm my reddening face and showed him the phone screen.
“What is that?”
“It’s a certification. Because we wiped out all the fires near here, this terrarium gave be some benefits. As well as guarantee my identity.”
“That’s good. How timely, Jay. I was worried that we had caused a large scene attracting unwanted attention. For the terrarium, it seems the safety of the village against the fires must have been a bigger concern.”
By large scene, I guess he meant where Mesquite and he wiped out the draiard and drewiards? Afterall my actions were not different from PK, and now that I think about it, it passed by without much trouble.
“Well since we’ve put out the pressing fires the village will turn to my misdeeds. Even if I were to make a scene like before…”
“You must do it in hiding. With better post clean up processes. You should just use Mesquite’s roots and bury them deep in the ground.”
Elder’s answers were expected. Since he didn’t reject the idea of it it seemed another conflict was inevitable. I wonder who exactly my driard took after.
“Anyways they called me a level 5 gardener. It’s interesting to have a title.”
In reality, I wasn’t even a level 9 civil worker and in the game, I was already a level 5.
And just by wiping out a hunting ground. Since they appreciated us with such recognition I suppose it wasn’t often that they saw such occurrences. Normally don’t they wipe out the low-level hunting grounds outside the village? Or was it just mu stereotype?
“Yes, master Jay. to be guaranteed by a terrarium it will be important to the future. There are many existing druids with not much progression and go into hibernation.”
“Then I guess I’m somewhat special amongst the many druids.”
Mesquite looked at me proudly. This was the thrill of the newbie getting ahead with diamonds.
Because I had spent so much time in awe rereading the certificate the sun had already set.
We decided to sleep out as we were in a vague position to return to the village.
It was my first time sleeping out. Even when I was a girl scout in primary school I had never done this before. I was like a well-raised plant in a greenhouse. Although I wasn’t the type that couldn’t sleep without a bed.
I found a better spot not too far from where I was seated. It was surrounded by many trees.
According to Mesquite places with a lot of plants had minimal damage from fires, in other words, had low chances of fires showing up. Of course, there was also the fact that we had wiped out the whole place of fires.
Perhaps it was due to the heavy layering of my equipment and robe the night breeze was not chilly. I leaned on a comfortable tree and watched the three driards engaged in a conversation.
Excluding one watcher everyone else returned to the terrarium artifact to recover the energy. Mesquite decided strong headedly to be the watcher.
“Doesn’t mesquite need to sleep?”
“Driards can live even without eating or sleeping. Although they can’t do much about battle cars. For us what’s important is that you, our world savior, Jay is healthy. We are connected by one soul so if Jay feels tired the other Driards feel tired, and if jay feels refreshed the other driards feel refreshed. So all jay has to do is rest.”
Does my physical stamina affect the other driards too…What was the point of having a good computer? When the power was crappy. Cries. The past me will reflect.
Night came. It was a silent night where there weren’t even sounds of insects, only the sound of my own movement.
Unlike in Seoul, the night sky was heavily decorated wITH stars. The only light visible were from the moon and stars, and the dim glowing light from my terrarium artifact.
Had it been the me from before I would not have been able to stand the darkness, but the fact Mesquite was guarding next to me was a huge reliance and didn’t make me so scared.
Perhaps it was the overdose of the energy supplements no matter how I tried it was hard to fall asleep.
I had never imagined sleeping on grass before, and unlike what I’d anticipated it felt rather nice. The grass was soft like cotton and seemed to hug me in.
I could slowly feel lightness in my body, that had once felt so heavy like wet cotton even without having moved much.
Maybe this was like a resting skill
I placed my hand on the soft glowing artifact.
Two driards in their fields were diligently attending to their territory. From a spot somewhere not too far from elder grew daisies small flower.
Red petals and brown sorghum that looked like a doll’s fur. Even though it was one stalk and it was comparable to the two branches of the other draiards it was very cute and pretty.
Elder’s territory was full of new items he had bought from the shop, equivalent to the amount of diamonds I had given him.
It was a pity that I couldn’t set up a house for them, but it seemed they were ambitious about furniture like me as they had surrounded the mother tree with various decorations.
There was a rocking chair with a soft cushion and a shelf, table, and chair made from carving out a tree that was still rooted to the ground.
There wasn’t even one book on the shelf, but Elder seemed to intend placing a singing golden bird statue and a mini gold half as a decoration.
On the table, there was a lamp made from a collection of something like fireflies. Maybe if Elder had books he would read them at the table in the light of this lamp.
Whenever a flower petal touched the sparsely located headlights it seemed as though fairy dust was flying.
Out of the many fences, the golden fence we had set aside surrounded Elder’s mother flower tree.
The mushroom and bench that Elder had picked out from the random box himself, along with the stone bridge, was located on one side. Elder was a driard who was worth investing diamonds on.
As for daisy, she deserted the diamonds she received.
In the grass field, it was cute to see one stalk of red daisy, but in comparison to Elder’s field, it lacked something. And I saw that she had placed something next to her flower and was turning my angle to see what it was when she moved to hide it from view.
But it was impossible to hide from my 360 vision over her.
“J?”
She has been hiding the alphabet J. Why would she…Oh…a nickname?
I took my hands off the glass globe and covered my hand and rolled on the floor laughing. She was really so cute. The only item she had invested in was a trophy decoration.
“Jay, you seem happy.”
Mesquite placed her hand on my hand to prevent me from banging my head while rolling. Mesquite’s hand was the size of my head and though it wasn’t soft it was comfortable.
“Even though he loves diamonds it’s cute to see Elder who is so predictable, and Daisy who is blind for me is lovable. And just by being with mesquite, who is so reliable, it fills up my heart. I think it was a good thing that I came here. I am really blessed with driards. I want to hurry up and go on an adventure with all of you and have fun…I want to do everything we can together!”
“Yes, Master Jay. So do I. Meeting you is a true blessing for me too.”
Even though it was dark and I couldn’t’ see Mesquite’s face I could tell that she was looking down at me lovingly.
Mesquite told me to go to sleep as it was late. She unbuckled her clock from her armor. Then placed it over me and told me to wait for tomorrow.
I had looked into the terrarium artifact as I wasn’t able to sleep, but with Mesquite’s smoky scented cloak I could feel myself relaxing.
I definitely overdid it today. It was the first time I’d moved around so much since the time I used to run around in a uniform. Now that I thought of it I was curious what Mesquite had purchased…
My fading vision turned completely dark. I wished for tomorrow to come quickly. I fell asleep the moment I closed my eyes.
