Chapter 24 Playing the Game
There were nine people at the changing KTV. Other than Wang Hao, there were two young male designers.
When Kong Zhao entered, the sofa was filled with people.
Kong Zhao glanced around and realized that other than the empty seat beside Wang Hao, there was only enough space between Fang Wei and Li Wen. Kong Zhao subconsciously wanted to walk towards the two of them, but was stopped by Jiang Yun halfway.
Jiang Yun, who was sitting and singing with Li Wen, pointed at the empty seat beside Wang Hao and warmly greeted, “Kong Zhao, come over quickly. There’s an empty seat beside me.”
Jiang Yun used her microphone to shout. Everyone looked at Kong Zhao. If she rejected her now, it would be a slap to Jiang Yun’s face. Kong Zhao could only sit over.
The waiter pushed a few dozen beers in and placed them on the coffee table. The two young men immediately filled their glasses and toasted Wang Hao. Wang Hao smiled and took a sip. The other old employees went forward and toasted him.
Kong Zhao had never drunk wine before, so she didn’t know how much she could drink. She poured a cup of tea and said with a smile, “Supervisor Wang, I don’t know how to drink. Let me toast you with tea instead of wine!”
The smile on Wang Hao’s face faded a little. He didn’t say anything and just looked at Kong Zhao.
Just as Kong Zhao was about to play dumb, Ou Jing said gently, “I won’t drink either. How about this, Kong Zhao, I’ll pour you half a glass of wine to toast you. Mr. Wang, I hope you can take care of us since we just graduated and haven’t gotten used to drinking.”
When Wang Hao heard this, he smiled again. “No problem, as long as you have sincere intentions!”
Ou Jing helped Kong Zhao out, but she didn’t ask if Kong Zhao was willing to or not.
Wang Hao personally poured half a cup of wine and handed it to Kong Zhao. Kong Zhao had no choice but to drink it, so she took the cup and toasted with Ou Jing.
Kong Zhao wasn’t used to it and frowned as she drank a few mouthfuls.
While Jiang Yun and Wang Hao left their seats and stood in front of the screen to sing, Kong Zhao moved to Jiang Yun’s seat and whispered to Li Wen, who was sitting beside her, “Does Manager Wang treat his team members to meals often?”
Li Wen chuckled. “How can a miser be so generous? There will be a department’s year-end bonus at the end of the year. We probably haven’t used up last year’s bonus
yet.”
Li Wen’s words exposed the truth about Wang Hao saying that he treated them often.
Kong Zhao wasn’t familiar with Li Wen, so she just casually found a topic to talk about. She didn’t expect Li Wen to be so direct. However, when she thought about the rumors that Li Wen’s father was a small shareholder of the company, it wasn’t surprising. Wang Hao was just a small supervisor in comparison.
After Wang Hao finished singing and returned to his seat, he glanced at Kong Zhao, who was sitting at the side, through Jiang Yun. He retracted his gaze and leaned back against the sofa. “Only two to three people can sing at a time. The interaction isn’t strong enough!”
Jiang Yun said, “Shall we play a game?”
Someone immediately agreed.
“Let’s play 5, 10, 15, 20!”
“Sure, that’s fun!”
This was what Wang Hao was best at, so he said, “This is it. The loser has to drink a glass!”
Jiang Yun smiled at the two newbies and said thoughtfully, “Kong Zhao and Ou Jing, have you guys played this game before? It’s actually very simple. The two of you will choose a number from 5, 10, 15, and 20. As you shout, extend your fingers. You can only reach o, 5, and 10 with both hands. The one with the same number of fingers as both sides wins. The loser will be punished with drinking, and the two of you will continue.”
After introducing the rules, the game began.
Although Kong Zhao had never played it before, she was very good at digital games. After one round, she was invincible in the private room. Even Wang Hao lost and had to drink a glass. Kong Zhao pursed her lips and chuckled. At this moment, Wang Hao said, “You can’t keep playing the same game. Change it to dice!”
There was a lot of luck involved in rolling the dice. Kong Zhao had a bad feeling. If she got drunk after two glasses, since she had just met these colleagues, who knew what would happen? There were many examples of accidents after drinking.
Thus, Kong Zhao smiled and said, “I’m going to the bathroom.” With that, she walked to the bathroom in the private room.
Kong Zhao sat on the toilet lid and called Cheng Fang. After picking up, she said softly, “Call my phone in five minutes!”
Cheng Fang didn’t say anything else and agreed.
Kong Zhao got up and pressed the flush button. She washed her hands and was about to sit back down when she realized that Jiang Yun had vacated the seat beside Wang Hao.
Through Wang Hao’s glasses, Kong Zhao could only see a pair of mirthful and gentle eyes. She calmly sat beside Wang Hao.
This time, the rules of the game were to roll two dice together. If the number thrown was more than six, it would be considered a loss. It started from the left to the right.
Kong Zhao lost in the first round. The two dice added up to seven. She drank a full glass.
The outcome of this game was decided very quickly. The round ended in a few minutes. Kong Zhao had just drunk a glass, but she already felt a little weak. She felt somewhat delirious.
