Chapter 49: I Want Your Reputation Ruined(3)
“What made you so insanely jealous? You learn so much in school. Knowledge, talents, ideals… did they not teach you how to carry yourself properly? The tongue has the power of life and death, don’t you know that? How many people out there have been trampled over by your words and weren’t able to fight back? You see a girl walking next to a rich man and you conclude that she must have been a sugar baby. Only when they take their lives to prove their innocence do you suddenly start to sympathize! Oh, it must’ve been just a rumour then!”
Every sentence coming out of Quan Jin’s mouth drained a little more blood from the berated girl. Even the crowd surrounding them started to look at her differently.
“There are so many people in this world wrongly accused everyday, how many of them can actually pull through and make it out on the bright side? Show some appreciation and sincerity, and stop the hate and spite. Gain some good karma. Stop demeaning people with your tainted perspectives! How hard is it to stand up for someone when they haven’t been proven guilty? Why be an accomplice in this murder? Trampling over those who are vulnerable must have really satisfied that inferiority complex of yours, right?”
Right? Right!
That’s what the reality was.
Quan Jin turned around sharply and shouted, “And all of you here!” The crowd could have sworn that they hadn’t and never would see anyone as outstanding as Quan Jin was.
“So polished and fancy! Is your materialism satisfied by that high-end branded outfit you’re wearing, that lipstick you just bought and the phone you own? Think about your parents, who have worked all their lives just so they could provide for your materialistic needs. Would it kill you to earn your own money so that you can buy the things you want? Why squeeze them dry just to prove your richness? Once you get a rich boyfriend, you do around boasting about the expensive things he has just gotten for you. Those are not yours! To put it bluntly, you exchanged that with your own body! And you’re proud of that, apparently. Do you have no self-respect?”
Watching those students who had lost their dignity by constantly comparing themselves to others, Quan Jin could no longer hold her anger in and cursed them out, “You all are just a bunch of useless fuckers!”
Damn. That was a good one.
Many of the students went pale as they looked at the expensive clothes they were wearing and gripped tightly onto the new phones they had just received.
The butler watched Quan Jin in awe. He whispered in her ear, “Miss Quan, you were so cool.”
Quan Jin replied, “Sometimes I get intimidated by my own charisma.”
The butler was speechless.
“Whatever you just said will not change the fact that you’re still a sugar baby! Now that the Ans are bankrupt, I don’t see you helping them with the money you have earned from sleeping around.”
The student had felt guilty at first, but seeing the butler exchange such intimate whispers with Quan Jin made her change her mind.
Quan Jin was simply a peasant, there was no way she could be so close to this old fellow if he wasn’t her sugar daddy.
“Make way everyone! Who’s making all this noise?!”
Right then, the Dean was rushing over with the security guard.
The students gave way as the Dean approached the scene. He cut through the crowd and fixed his eyes on Quan Jin, who was in the middle of it all.
“Quan Jin? It’s you again!”
The Dean strided toward her, looking at the sports car behind her. He was slightly angry, ashamed, and embarrassed for her as he exclaimed, “Why! Why are you so pathetic?!”
Quan Jin was stunned and confused.
Pathetic? She was flamboyant.
The Dean looked at Quan Jin in disappointment. At this stage, all he could do was to turn this into a sob story to gain some pity for her.
“Quan Jin, I know that the Ans are bankrupt and you really want to help them. You had good intentions but becoming a sugar baby is just–”
“By the words of the Dean, Miss Quan must have been defamed quite often, hasn’t she?”
