All the major actors attended the end-of-filming celebration that took place at night. After three to four months of seeing each other on a daily basis, they all felt a reluctance to part and go their separate ways.
Furthermore, they all cared for one another and had a great time working together. Hence, they all had a little bit more to drink that night.
Nevertheless, Su Xia still remembered that she had to attend Lu Jingyao’s fansign tomorrow. Therefore, she stopped drinking before she reached her limit and left after spending some time chatting with the others.
The apartment she currently resided in was rented by her company. It was located in the most well-developed district of the Imperial Capital. She had just moved in less than six months ago. Despite having plans to purchase a property for herself, she had been busy with work in recent years. Furthermore, she was yet to decide which city she wanted to live in. Thus, she had been living in a rented property so far.
The Starhill Court was an area that consisted of a high-end community. The area was protected by strict security measures, and most of the residents were either celebrities or illustrious entrepreneurs. Besides, the surrounding environment was peaceful and quiet. There was only one unit per floor, thus the residents all had immense privacy.
Su Xia received Han Yue’s voice message after getting down from the car. “You have arrived home, right? Come over for some hotpot.”
She followed Lil Yi into the elevator. “Nope, I have plans tomorrow. I will break out if I have hotpot so late at night,” she said.
“I am not afraid although I have a full-day schedule tomorrow. What are you afraid of!” Han Yue replied.
“Lu Jingyao’s fansign is taking place tomorrow,” Su Xia said firmly.
Han Yue’s response came a little later.
“Oh…alright, I get it,” she said.
Su Xia smiled a little as she detected the hint of anger in Han Yue’s tone. “I am free tomorrow night. I will bring some food over,” she said.
“If I do not see you after finishing my schedule tomorrow, you shall be blacklisted!” Han Yue exclaimed.
Su Xia was already used to her threats. She put on a pair of slippers and turned around toward Lil Yi. “You should go back now. It is already very late. Thank you so much for your hard work. Rest well tomorrow,” she told her.
Lil Yi put down her luggage in the living room and waved at Su Xia with a grin on her face. She then greeted her, “See you on the day after tomorrow then. Bye, Sister Xiaxia!”
Su Xia nodded with a faint smile on her face.
The large apartment fell into pin-drop silence after the door closed.
The apartment was cleaned and tidied up periodically by a housekeeper. Knowing that she would be arriving home soon, the housekeeper had set up an aromatherapy diffuser for her in advance. Her favorite scent lingered around the entire apartment.
After washing up and applying some skincare, Su Xia lay down on her bed and fell into a deep sleep.
——
The fansign venue was not far from where Su Xia stayed. She arrived on the dot and quietly lined up at the end of the long queue. She pushed down her cap and lowered her head. She then pulled up her facemask as well.
The weather was rather chilly at the start of autumn. She had put on a denim jacket over a white dress adorned with floral designs. The light colors of her outfit and her wavy, black hair made her look youthful, gentle, and quiet.
Su Xia stood there silently while listening to the fans in front chat away happily. She then raised her head slightly to glance at the front of the queue. Just then, the girl in front of her turned behind and made eye contact with her.
A sense of awkwardness encompassed her.
She lowered her head immediately. Her heartbeat began to race.
Just as the line started moving forward in an orderly manner, the girl in front of Su Xia approached her. “Is this your first time attending a fansign event?” she asked, her voice clear and crisp.
“Nope, I have been to many fansigns,” she said while shaking her head. She clutched tightly onto her handbag.
“Oh…” the girl said while looking her up and down. “I think I know you!” she suddenly exclaimed.
Su Xia’s heart lurched. She was on the verge of breaking out into cold sweat.
