The Body Swap Game - Chapter 55
Chapter 55: Paying Attention
After the young guy spoke, everyone in the bubble tea shop looked toward Xia Yu and his group.
People were easily deceived. They often believed whatever they heard first and held on to their preconceived notions.
Everyone in the bubble tea shop looked at Yan Wei in shock.
Even Xia Yu’s mind was shaken for a moment. This Yan Wei girl in front of him had a kid?
This was impossible. Judging by the girl’s panicked expression, she wouldn’t have planned this as a prank.
He turned to look at the young guy.
The guy’s eyes showed a bit of satisfaction.
He was right. This guy was an idiot.
The guy probably watched some prank videos and wanted to hurt others.
Xia Yu asked Yan Wei, “Do you know him?”
“He’s from another class,” Yan Wei answered.
Her panicked heart had slowly eased after seeing Xia Yu’s calm demeanor.
“It’s quite exhausting for you when an idiot like this is stalking you.” Xia Yu’s voice was quite loud. Everyone around had heard it.
Everyone drinking in the bubble tea shop was young and knew of various pranks, so they all reacted.
Their gazes all focused on the young guy.
Now it was his turn to panic.
He had always had a crush on Yan Wei. After the cultural festival, he was happy for a long time when he heard her confession of love for Xia Yu failed.
Today, he was following Yan Wei when he noticed they were on a date. He instantly felt deceived and wanted to make things embarrassing for them.
According to that overseas prank video’s plot, Xia Yu and Yan Wei should have been panicked and out of sorts, and he could get away, leaving them a mess.
In fact, Yan Wei was very panicked. If Xia Yu wasn’t so calm, he’d have reached his goal.
Now, he was in a difficult situation.
‘The worst would be a shouting match. They would be embarrassed and angry this way,’ the young guy thought to himself.
Yet, Xia Yu ignored him and changed the topic, diverting Yan Wei’s attention, giving her no time to pay attention to him.
When Xia Yu and Yan Wei ignored him, the young guy couldn’t do anything either. He just squatted on the side like a random comic character.
“Sir, if you don’t need anything else, could you leave this shop?” The middle-aged shop owner came out of the kitchen and told the young guy.
Afterward, before the young guy reacted, the shop owner and a male waiter dragged him outside the door.
“We’re very sorry. Here’s a free dessert for you.” The shop owner delivered a cake to Xia Yu and Yan Wei’s table.
Someone started to clap, and everyone else followed.
“I took a video, I’ll go put it online!” one guest said.
“Thank you.” Yan Wei was still a little stunned.
After finishing the tea, Xia Yu and Yan Wei left the bubble tea shop.
“Thanks for that,” Yan Wei told Xia Yu.
“It’s alright. It’s actually funny seeing someone like that.” Xia Yu told the truth.
“I didn’t know he would do something like this!” Yan Wei looked angry. “I have to tell his teacher about this. This is ridiculous!”
“The world is a big place. There’s always a few idiots.” Glancing at Yan Wei’s figure, Xia Yu wasn’t surprised she’d attract people like this.
She was wearing a loose-fitting tee under a dirt-yellow jacket and she was still noticeable. And if she changed into other clothes…
So it was necessary that Yan Wei dress unfashionably.
After ending this topic, the girl felt a little trepidation. “Where do we go next?”
“Go home,” Xia Yu said.
Moving so fast?! Yan Wei instantly blushed.
“We came out for our sisters, if they’re not around, we should go home. Goodbye”.
Are you not taking me?!
Yan Wei was despondent, watching Xia Yu walk away.
Am I not even a little attractive?
She took out her cell phone and saw a message from her younger sister.
Yan Li: “Sister, how did it go?”
Yan Wei: “You’ve lost your allowance for a week!”
Yan Li: “What? What happened? I’m not doing anything like this anymore. I’m not making you go tomorrow either!”
Yan Wei: “Where are we going tomorrow?”
Yan Li: “Youxue asked me to take you to her place tomorrow, I refused.”
Yan Wei: “You’ve lost your allowance for a month!”
Yan Li: “???”
…
After Xia Yu got home, he saw Youxue and Yan Li playing on the sofa.
Since Yan Li was there, Xia Yu couldn’t interrogate Youxue.
Youxue was aware of this too, so she didn’t make Yan Li leave until Xia Yu had to leave for his job in the afternoon.
It was Tuesday. When Xia Yu arrived at the coffee shop, he’d noticed a guzheng in the middle of the store.
The shop owner made him change into Han-style clothes and put on a wig.
When he came out, the young people in the shop all started to jeer.
However, they calmed down after Xia Yu sat down to play.
In this world, the guzheng wasn’t a rare musical instrument. Thanks to the powerful economy and culture in District 1, guzheng, erhu, long flute, and suona were all instruments on the same level as the piano and violin.
Piano players were often seen at tea shops as well.
Although none of those players were as handsome as Xia Yu.
Xia Yu’s looks among the pianists in Zilang City was the best.
This was one of the reasons the shop owner wanted Xia Yu.
The shop owner nodded with satisfaction when he saw the guests’ reaction. It seemed like guzheng-playing was also a popular show.
After his job, Xia Yu went to Kong Hanyue’s place to learn new music pieces.
At 11 p.m., he logged onto An Siyao’s body to learn piano.
The game had a new chance to log-in every day, which meant he could log-on before midnight on the first day, come back by 8 a.m., and then log-in again. He could play for 16 continuous hours.
When he came back at 7 a.m., he was preparing to log-in at 8 a.m. He should start to work on the Zhong Yunxin issue.
Then, he heard some noises outside.
It wasn’t Youxue but some other people talking.
He opened the door. He saw Youxue’s classmate, Yan Li, and his own classmate, Yan Wei.
Yan Wei was in the kitchen, working on something with Youxue.
“Brother, Lili and Sister Weiwei came over to visit today!” Youxue spoke first to cut him off.
“Great.” Xia Yu was happy that Youxue would have friends over.
After he used the bathroom to wash up, Yan Wei had already put four bowls of noodles on the table.
“Sister Weiwei’s noodles are delicious.” Youxue sounded like she was doing a read-aloud.
Sitting down, Xia Yu used the chopsticks to take a bite.
The noodles were delicious.
They were almost as good as the noodles he had at the East Land School.
“See? Sister Weiwei’s family owns a noodle shop!” Youxue said.
“My sister also makes pastries,” Yan Li added.
“What kind of pastries?”
