Chapter 47: Master Jun’s Cooking
Feng Sujin didn’t know what the situation between Jun Mohan and her was, but her head was still in a mess from the kiss. Although she couldn’t describe how she felt, she knew that she didn’t hate it and felt shy.
She recalled her sad past experiences and the lights in her eyes dimmed. She sighed secretly, realizing what Jun Mohan had done for her as she took in Doctor Qiu’s words. If it wasn’t for Mr. Jun, she didn’t know if she could stay alive until now!
Hence, Feng Sujin decided to say goodbye to the past, let it disappear like smoke. She will be Mrs. Jun, treat Jun Mohan well, and a good wife.
Although Jun Mohan was driving, he watched Feng Sujin’s expressions closely.
Seeing that her expressions change from loneliness to joy, Jun Mohan asked softly, “What are you thinking about?”
Feng Sujin smiled brightly at him, “I’m thinking that Doctor Qiu really cares about you as a friend. He wants you to be happy.”
Feng Sujin’s smile was light, as if she had let go of many burdens on her.
Jun Mohan’s eyes flashed, “You won’t misunderstand him anymore?”
Feng Sujin shook her head, “No, I hope you have friends who care for you.”
Jun Mohan smiled silently, but he was obviously in a good mood.
When they returned to the manor, it was almost dinner time. Jun Mohan asked Feng Sujin, “What do you want to eat?”
Feng Sujin was thinking about some things and replied without thinking too much at the sudden question, “According to the custom, shouldn’t we eat noodles to welcome us back?”
After she finished speaking, Feng Sujin felt awkward. Was it appropriate for her to make a request? But she thought that since Jun Mohan just came back from traveling to other places for so long, it was only natural to have noodles to welcome him back!
Jun Mohan replied gently, “I know how to make noodles if you want to have it, but my cooking skills aren’t good enough if you want to eat other things.”
Feng Sujin widened her eyes and looked at him, “You… you know how to make noodles?”
There weren’t many boys who knew how to make food nowadays. Especially in Beiquan City, the children of rich families all stayed away from the kitchen. Most of them heeded their ancestors’ words; a nobleman stayed clear of the kitchen, and argued that their time should be spent on doing more important things instead of wasting it on cooking!
Even at university, with Nalan Yunqing, he didn’t know how to talk nor make noodles. As for Lan Beichen, Feng Sujin was always the one who made food and sent it to him. However, she didn’t know that Lan Beichen later made soup for Liu Shiya. Feng Sujin quickly shook her head at the thought of those two, removing them from her head.
Jun Mohan, judging from the atmosphere, thought that Feng Sujin shook her head because she didn’t have any confidence in his cooking, “You don’t believe me? I can make it. Try it, you might think it tastes good.”
Feng Sujin was excited and her eyes were filled with expectations.
She put the newspaper down and stood up, “I’ll help you.”
The couple worked with each other in the kitchen in a well-coordinated fashion. They didn’t look like a couple who just knew each other, but a couple who have been married for a long time. They worked in a comfortable atmosphere. Suddenly, Feng Sujin’s phone rang.
Jun Mohan looked at the noodles and spoke to her, “Go pick up your call, the noodles will be done in a while so there’s nothing else much to do.”
When Jun Mohan carried the noodles onto a small dining table, he saw Feng Sujin sitting on the couch while staring at her phone blankly, “Why aren’t you picking up?”
Feng Sujin declined the call, “It’s from Lan Beichen. I don’t want anything to do with those from my past.”
Jun Mohan saw her childish move and persuaded, “You don’t have to do that, let nature take its course.”
