Chapter 30: Kobold Army

Murloc Tidehunters and Murloc Raiders were comparable to Rogues while Bluegill Warriors was equivalent to Warrior. The Grimscale Oracles, Coldlight Oracles, and Coldlight Seers were Casters.
The ratio of battle classes to regular Murlocs was similar to that of the Humans. It was a common sight to see dozens of Murlocs forming a group with only one Grimscale Oracle or Coldlight Oracle and two to three Murloc Tidehunters, Murloc Raiders, or Bluegill Warriors. It was also common to find a Coldlight Seer in a combination of several small groups or a large group.
As for the powerful Murloc Warleader, there was no guarantee of encountering one within several miles of Murloc Shallow.
A Murloc Warleader, as the name suggested, was the leader of an army of Murlocs. How many Murloc groups would need to band together in order to gather enough Murloc battle classes to form an army?
So far, the most powerful battle class in Murloc Shallow seemed to be the Coldlight Oracle.
Despite that, it would not be an easy feat to clear the Murloc Shallow Dungeon.
The absence of clear conditions made the Dungeon difficult to beat as this usually meant that one had to work hard and massacre all the Murlocs, unless the Spatial Garrison decided to show mercy by announcing a Quest.
No matter how low the ratio of Murloc battle class was, there were dozens, if not hundreds of battle classes in the entire Murloc Shallow. Sean shivered at the thought of dealing with over a hundred of these battle classes.
It was an impossible mission.
With his hand on his forehead, Sean sighed deeply.
Sean tried his hand at it. With a swoosh, a knuckle-sized Fireball crashed into a Murloc Raider, sending it to its doom.
However, a large group of growling Murlocs bolted towards Sean thereafter.
“OMG, the Murlocs share Aggro! Hit one and the entire group comes?”
Without another thought, Sean made a run for it.
In Murloc Shallow, where there was no place to hide, he was in danger of being spotted by Murlocs no matter which direction he chose. Hence, having considered the disparity in strength and finding no hope, Sean dashed straight for the spawn point. He left Murloc Shallow and returned to reality.
This was Sean’s first taste of failure. It had also cleared Sean’s swollen head.
“Indeed, these so-called Dungeons aren’t really Dungeons! I’ll actually die if I perish in one of them. I must take caution, my life is more important than anything else!”
Sean was ashamed by his reckless act. After partaking in 3 seconds of humility, Sean closed his eyes and pondered in silence.
Compared to Kobold’s Nest, the difficulty of Murloc Shallow was on a whole new level. With Sean’s improved abilities, Kobold’s Nest would not be an issue. However, Murloc Shallow seemed absolutely impossible at his current power level.
Nonetheless, was it really so?
Sean put on his thinking cap and was conflicted.
In the very beginning, there had only been one option above the Gate of Spacetime; Kobold’s Nest. This was a Dungeon that Sean was capable of completing.
Due to the Class Advancement Quest, the Stromgarde Keep of 2800 years ago had appeared as a second option. Obviously, the Class Advancement Quest was completable.
The option to Murloc Shallow had not come after Sean’s completion of the Class Advancement Quest, rather it had appeared after he had cleared Kobold’s Nest. Perhaps this was a sign that the Gate of Spacetime, or even the Spatial Garrison itself, believed that Sean already possessed the ability to clear Murloc Shallow after completing Kobold’s Nest.
Nevertheless, Sean had not obtained anything apart from some White Common Equipment, Kobold Shaman’s Staff and Dalaran Apprentice’s Robe, as well as 2 Stat points after clearing Kobold’s Nest. What caused the Spatial Garrison to think that he possessed the ability to clear Murloc Shallow?
Oh, right. He was in possession of one more item…
“Kobold War Horn (Westfall)!”
Sean’s eyes lit up.
Could it be that the Kobold War Horn was the deciding factor for clearing Murloc Shallow?
The Kobold War Horn was only effective on Kobolds. This meant that…
Sean abruptly stood up.
The situation in Westfall came to mind. The distance between the Kobold-dominated Jangolode Mine and the Murloc-dominated Gold Coast was not large. Then…
Perhaps, there was a community of Kobolds living a stone’s throw away from Murloc Shallow?
At that thought, Sean eagerly entered the Spatial Garrison and arrived before the Gate of Spacetime.
A certain amount of Garrison Resources was required to enter the Gate of Spacetime. Sean was unclear as to the amount of Garrison Resources exhausted nor how the cost was calculated.
His first trip had cost 10 points of Garrison Resources while the second time was the same. His trip to Murloc Shallow, however, cost 15 points of Garrison resources.
He had already entered once so his second time almost wiped out all of his already scarce Garrison Resources. The moment he entered Murloc Shallow, Sean immediately ran in the opposite direction of the Murlocs.
Sean may not have the constitution of an adult Human, but he had enough strength for the journey. Half an hour later, Sean came across a mine. There were two Kobolds guarding the entrance.
Sean dithered for a while but soon made up his mind and pulled out the Kobold War Horn.
The reason behind the hesitation was that the Kobold War Horn was limited to Westfall. Although it might have some effect on Kobolds outside of Westfall, the results would not be as promising.
His subsequent decision was due to the realization that Murloc Shallow somewhat resembled part of the Gold Coast. The mine before his eyes also shared similarities to Jangolode Mine… Even though there were distinct differences to the styles and features between here and Westfall.
Could it be that Sean’s current location was actually Westfall’s Jangolode Mine?
Just that it was not in the same timeline. Perhaps, it was the Westfall of a different space and time?
Sean did not know what exactly was going on, but he planned to give it a try.
Even if he were to fail in his attempt, the Kobolds were incapable of catching up to him. He could still make it back to the spawn point.
With that thought, Sean sounded the Kobold War Horn.
Luck always sided with transmigrators.
After sounding the Kobold War Horn, the eyes of the two Kobolds in front of Jangolode Mine turned red. Hurling their trashy mining shovels to one side, they bolted towards Sean and fell on their knees with a thump. They kowtowed towards Sean, mumbling in the Kobold language.
“!@#@!#¥%#¥…”
Though Sean could not understand a single word, it did not stop him from starting his plan.
Sean growled out loud. His fiery voice ignited a flame within all the Kobolds who heard him.
Aged Kobolds, young Kobolds, adult Kobolds, they all dashed out of the mine.
These Kobolds were of one mind, under the leadership of a great warbringer, they would restore the glory of the ancient Kobolds of Westfall!
