Although Sean was underage, he held a sharp dagger in his hand.
He had no reason to be afraid since he was fighting a Kobold that was half his size.
Sean rushed towards the Kobold, not uttering a single word. He stabbed the Kobold, exerting all his strength to pierce its heart. In an instant, he had sent his victim to meet the Kobold God, assuming it existed. Only those who died would know if it did.
Killing the living meant nothing to Sean. It did not matter whether it was the Sean living in Azeroth’s chaotic era, or the Sean who slaughtered pigs and dogs back when he still lived in 21st century Earth. Furthermore, even though the Kobolds had entered their stone age, the humans had never considered them as intelligent beings.
However, the corpse was certainly rather disgusting to look at…
Sean continued further and encountered a few more Kobolds.
The Kobolds did not have high intelligence. They were weak and timid. They would still be afraid of Sean, who was twice their size, even if they had superior numbers. As long as Sean’s attacks were swift and decisive, the Kobolds would scream and disperse in fear. All Sean had to do then was chase them down.
As Kobolds had short legs, they moved slowly even when they ran. Hence, chasing them down and killing them was incredibly easy for Sean.
There were many intersections in the mineral cave, and it was incredibly complex. Although Sean had a good memory, he was worried that he might get lost. Fortunately, the Spatial Fortress had unlocked a new ability when he arrived – Map.
Yes. Whether it was a first-rate game or a third-rate game, there would always be the feature known as the map.
The entire map was pitch black and only a small portion of it was revealed. It was the location Sean had already explored. According to the size of the map, the Dungeon was as big as a village.
For a mineral cave, it was decently sized.
If Sean were to explore the entire mineral cave, he would be so tired and hungry that he might just go crazy.
Fortunately, Sean could leave the mineral cave whenever he wished.
It cost 10 Garrison Resources to activate the Gate of Spacetime. Furthermore, he could stay in this mineral cave for as long as two full hours. If Sean wished to leave before time ran out, he could do so. However, he would have to sacrifice 10 Garrison Resources.
Sean had to obtain at least 10 Garrison Resources within 2 hours to make the trip worthwhile.
This Quest might be rather difficult for him.
Nevertheless, he kept moving forward.
Ten minutes later, Sean saw a fiery light appear. The end of the tunnel was an incredibly spacious hall.
As Sean approached cautiously, he realized that there was a small bonfire at the center of the hall. On top of it was unknown being’s flesh being barbecued. The meat seemed to be almost done cooking as it exuded an incredibly thick and tempting aroma.
Three Kobolds surrounded the bonfire. Six eyes were glued onto the cooking meat, saliva drooling from the edge of their mouths.
There were two strong-looking Kobolds that were larger than average. Both of them held an old dagger in their hands and were dressed in oil-stained linen clothing that Sean did not know the source of.
The third one was an elderly Kobold. It wore a mage’s robe, though it did not resemble what a Human would wear. He was holding a twisted staff that was made from an old tree branch. At the very top of the staff was a bright gemstone, emitting a blue glow.
It looked incredibly strange.
However, it was not something to joke about.
That was because Sean knew what it meant.
The two strong-looking Kobolds were, most likely, either Kobold Supervisors or Kobold Chieftains. Regardless, their Combat Level would definitely be not lower than 2. In other words, this would be the limit for an average male adult. Sean might have to put in a lot of effort just to deal with one of them. Furthermore, it would be very difficult for Sean to beat his opponent, even if he did put in the effort. In fact, it was possible his opponent would kill him.
Since it would be difficult to fight one, what were his chances when battling two at the same time?
To make things worse, there was also the elderly Kobold.
That Kobold was obviously a Caster. A Kobold Shaman.
The Kobold Shamans, as a type of Caster, were the spiritual leaders of the Kobolds. Not only were they much more intelligent than an average Kobold, but they also had significantly more Mental Energy. Furthermore, they were much more knowledgeable and had the ability to cast spells. Specializing in Low Rank Elemental Magic, the Kobold Shaman was guaranteed to have a Combat Level higher than 3.
The Elements was one of the seven schools of magic. It was the art of converting Arcane Energy into a physically destructive force. The most well-known of the Low Rank Elemental Magic spells were Fireball and Frostbolt.
Whichever Spell it decided to cast, Sean’s fragile body would not be able to handle it.
Naturally, although this Kobold was a Shaman and its Spells were equal in power to a Level 5 Warrior, it was physically weaker than the average Kobold. After all, this was one of the main characteristics of a Caster.
Sean was confident that if he were to ambush it, and did not miss, he would be able to kill it.
Regardless…
“Is it really alright for me, an ordinary teenager to face such a group?”
Sean muttered frustratedly and decided to give up.
Sean’s first priority was to protect his life, no matter what situation he was in.
Staying alive was of utmost importance because, as long as he was still alive, there was hope.
A great leader once said, “When the enemy attacks, retreat! However, when the enemy retreats, pursue them! Retreat when the enemy is energetic and attack then the enemy is tired!”
Sean decided to add another line to the saying. “If the enemy is strong and I’m weak, then it’s best to move your legs and run!”
Sean stepped back quietly, not making a single noise. He was incredibly cautious as he was afraid of alerting the Kobolds.
However, when Sean looked back a second time, he saw God standing within the dim light. It seemed that God had given Sean a reason to stay.
The meat was done grilling.
The Kobold Shaman’s status within the group of Kobolds was incredibly high. It was only natural that no one dared to eat before it had. However, as the Kobold Shaman had taken the most delicious portion of meat, the two powerful Kobolds attacked each other, fighting over the grilled meat.
The fight between the two Kobolds was nothing to talk about. They exchanged blows and, eventually, started hugging each other as they brawled. They were competing over their stamina, strength, and will.
This scene seemed to be a very common thing to the Kobolds and none of them were bothered by it. Perhaps this scene would occur whenever meat was done cooking. It was a show that occurred in every Kobold’s daily life, entertainment for their boring lives.
Everything was fine as long as they did not die.
The Kobold Shaman had no intention of stopping the fight, simply taking its meat and leaving. It seemed like this was such a common occurrence that it had gotten used to it.
As a Shaman that stood above all, this was one of the ways it managed its subordinates. When it came to controlling those beneath it, infighting like this was beneficial.
It had learned this from the Humans in Stormwind City, as the Humans loved ruling over others.
The Kobold Shaman then trapped itself in memories.
It was old, that was why it was easy for it to recall the old times. Although it was only in its thirties, it was considered very old for a Kobold. Perhaps in just a few years’ time, it would be buried. Before that happened, it would often recall the beauty of days long past.
The days when it risked its life and the incredibly tough journeys.
While it was still lost in thought, it walked towards the tunnel that Sean was hiding in.
