Chapter 6: Clearance Reward

“This is why I said that the main character’s luck is always good!”
Sean slowly retreated and hid in the corner.
There was not much light in the tunnel and, since Kobolds had bad eyesight, the Shaman would not be able to notice him.
The elderly Kobold Shaman was slow with his steps. It took it a long time to reach the mineral cave, but was now less than two meters away from Sean.
As Sean listened to the soft footsteps, he bent his waist down, arched his foot, and sprung out. Gripping the dagger with both hands, he sprung into action.
“Creak!”
The dagger accurately pierced the Kobold Shaman’s throat. It was an instant kill.
The elderly Kobold Shaman widened its cloudy eyes in disbelief.
Although it was already old and had only a few years left before it met its maker, this did not mean that it wanted to die yet. After a life full of struggle and hard work, it had finally become a leader. It intended to enjoy the high life and get its hands on some female Kobolds.
However, all of this was no longer possible. All of its dreams had burnt to ash.
As the Kobold Shaman’s hand flopped down, its staff crashed to the ground, making a soft sound that no one heard. With the last of its strength, it closed its eyes.
However, it could not just die without knowing the full picture.
No matter how legendary a mage was, they could still be killed by an unconventional thief.
As the saying goes, “Even a dog can bully a tiger when it loses its advantage, an unaware Shaman is no better than a chicken!”
As Sean had moved quickly, the Kobold Shaman did not even have the chance to scream before it died. Since the two strong Kobolds were still fighting over the meat, it was only natural that they were completely unaware.
Sean let out a sigh of relief.
Even if they were a Legendary Mage, no Mage could survive a stab or two. It was possible for them to be killed by an ordinary bandit. Sean was excited as he had killed the general of an army. Although, because it was one against one, the excitement died down rather quickly.
Since battle was all about the rewards, Sean needed to check what he got. If he did not receive anything, it would mean that the battle had been rather pointless.
He casually picked up the Shaman’s staff and was incredibly delighted.
[Kobold Shaman’s Staff, White Quality, Common Equipment, Spell Effect +1.]
The description was simple and did not have high Stats, but a staff was still a staff.
As Blizzard’s biological son, the Mage was an honorable Class in the world of Azeroth. Any Mage, even a Mage Apprentice, would be loved and envied by all. Being a Mage was practically everyone’s dream. Since a staff was compulsory for all Mages, the value of the staff was extremely high.
There was a “knowledgeable” lackey in Saldean’s Farm, who was once friends with and had also served a Mage Apprentice. The lackey had once heard the Mage Apprentice mention that the most common staff would cost at least 10 Gold Coins!
To top it off, though there was demand, there was simply no supply..
10 Gold Coins was enough for Sean to live for a year.
Although this was a Kobold Shaman’s Staff, it could still be used by other Mages.
Greed could be seen in Sean’s eyes. He reached out his hands as he looked at the robe the Kobold Shaman was wearing.
“As expected!”
Sean’s face lit with happiness.
He immediately took the robe off the Kobold.
[Dalaran Apprentice Robe, White Quality, Common Equipment. Armor+1, Magic Resistance +1, Spell Effect +1.]
Sean’s mouth turned O-shape as he frowned slightly.
He did not know how he had accomplished this action that had a difficulty of at least 4.0.
“Dalaran huh?”
Dalaran was a powerful Magocratic Kingdom. It was the place that had the most Mages in Azeroth. As one of the Seven Human Kingdoms, Dalaran’s influence was unrivaled. Even Stormwind City and Lordaeron were unable to outshine it.
Since a Dalaran Apprentice’s Robe had appeared, this meant that it was very likely that a Dalaran Mage Apprentice died here.
The question was, where exactly was this place?
Dalaran had been around for at least 2700 years. Since he had teleported through spacetime, which timeline was he currently in?
The Gate of Spacetime could only last for 2 hours. Now that an hour had passed, Sean did not plan to risk it by challenging the two strong-looking Kobolds. Instead, he decided to use the Return City Scroll to return to the Dungeon’s entrance.
Since the Gate of Spacetime connected two spaces together, it needed two coordinates. One for time and one for space.
Both space and time had, to a certain extent, safety nets. Time had a tolerance of an hour and space had a small location around the entrance.
He could only leave the Dungeon if he returned to the entrance within an hour.
If Sean were to miss the time or location, he would be stuck in this spacetime.
Hence, Transmigrators needed to be cautious as it was extremely dangerous!
Although he had not managed to collect 10 Garrison Resources, he had obtained a robe and staff in exchange. The reward was already considered good.
Sean placed the items back into his bag as he chose to leave.
The instant Sean left the place, a huge Bronze Dragon opened its eyes. The dragon was hidden away in the Caverns of Time, which was located on the distant continent of Kalimdor.
Nozdormu the Timeless One, Aspect of the Bronze Dragonflight.
It was one of the five Dragon Aspects, the most mysterious Aspect of the Bronze Dragonflight.
Its eye was as big as a house, could view time and space as a physical latitude and longitude. Nozdormu’s eyes pierced through the obstacles of spacetime as it tried to track Sean down through the ripples left behind by his travels.
It gazed at the chaotic vortex of time, its intelligent eyes shifting through countless dimensions.
After all, a disturbance in any timeline could produce unimaginable consequences.
One day, it would find this damned Transmigrator!
Sean opened his eyes when the earth and sky stopped spinning. What he saw was his room.
The first thing Sean did was look at the cup of hot water on the table. It was still releasing hot vapor and he found it incredibly hot to the touch.
“Is this still the same time as when I entered the Gate of Spacetime? Did the Gate of Spacetime freeze time the moment I entered? That’s good news.”
In other words, whenever Sean entered the Gate of Spacetime, everything happened in an instant in the eyes of outsiders. This meant that nobody would notice any abnormality from him.
Sean smiled gently as he soon realized more good news.
The six-slotted spatial bag was still there, along with the items that Sean had put into it. In other words, this spatial bag was not restricted by spacetime or the Dungeon. It could continue to exist!
Sean had obtained a piece of Spatial Equipment without doing anything. This was certainly good news!
Sean then inspected the staff and robe in his hand once more. He noticed that the items were exactly the same as they were in the Dungeon. The Stats remained and both items could be used.
[Ding!]
Out of the blue, a message appeared in Sean’s mind.
[Congratulations on successfully killing the Kobold Shaman and clearing Kobold’s Lair, Commander. Overall Rating: C. Do you wish to collect the reward?]
