The Great Thief - Chapter 1313
Chapter 1313: Helpers

Marshal Maxwell quickly called two guards – the two who had previously stopped Lu Li and Hachi Chan. These two guards appeared to be scouts, as they were quiet and moved about agilely.
The two guards couldn’t enter the Instance Dungeon like Lu Li, but they could be instantly transported into the Command Hall. This meant that they could be summoned after the battle began, so Lu Li and Hachi Chan could return the way they came.
This was a great reward.
Even without the guards, Lu Li felt like they could kill General Drakkisath, but he wouldn’t reject their help.
If they had help, they could save some Fire Resistance Potions, which would always be useful when doing Instance Dungeons in the future. Even though Hachi Chan’s Charisma values were extremely high, Marshal Maxwell would probably only give them the Fire Resistance Potions once. It would be impossible for him to give them any more. After all, the Alliance Army was currently fighting on the Burning Steppes against many Fire Elementals. These Fire Resistance Potions were extremely valuable items.
When they returned to the Instance Dungeon, Hachi Chan patted her chest to ensure that they would have no problems.
When the others asked her why, she left them in the dark and didn’t reveal anything.
Lu Li didn’t stop her from showing off either. Hachi Chan had done a great job in earning so much support from Marshal Maxwell.
Dawn was quite a fascinating game. Anyone, whether a newbie, a person frustrated with society, or a criminal who couldn’t find a job after being released, was able to find a new life and rise up through the ranks like Lu Li. This was why no one really questioned Lu Li, despite having experienced rebirth.
They once again began the fight, and Remnant Dream pulled the Boss out of the Command Hall.
Lu Li let Azure Sea Breeze and Wandering pull the mobs, while Hachi Chan immediately ran in to place the insignia that was given to her by Marshal Maxwell in the Command Hall.
Meanwhile, everyone was still fighting the monsters and they found that their task was still impossible. Everyone felt helpless and they really didn’t understand what Lu Li and Remnant Dream could do to help them defeat the monsters.
“It’s done!” Hachi Chan cried out as she stopped to allow the transmission to work.
Everyone watched as the originally ordinary-looking stone began to shine with magic.
Two black shadows appeared near the stone as it flashed. The two NPC guards then entered the hall and rushed to the mobs without saying anything.
“Wow, you managed to ask for help!” Azure Sea Breeze exclaimed in delight.
He had a real reason to be happy as well, as these two helpers were very strong. Lu Li and the others were having a tough time at first, but they could clearly see the monsters’ HP bars dropping.
“Cast Bloodlust, but no one else should use their ultimate skills.”
They needed to save their ultimate skills as some of them took hours to reset. Lu Li had calculated the strength of these two NPCs and decided to save their burst damage for the Boss.
Bloodlust’s cooldown wasn’t too long, and it could be used on a Boss quite a few times so there was no need to save it here.
“Dreamy, be careful over there and make sure you keep the aggro,” Lu Li said.
If Remnant Dream couldn’t maintain the Boss’ aggro and was accidentally killed, the Boss would return before they finished off the mobs. Although the two guards were here to help, there would be a decent chance that they would get wiped.
These two guards alone couldn’t face the combination of the Boss and the mobs. Furthermore, if they lost these two guards, they could fall out of favour with Marshal Maxwell as well.
The first mob had fallen!
The second mob had fallen!
The two guards were silent as they constantly dealt damage. Each guard’s DPS was comparable with Lu Li’s.
There were four very powerful sources of damage hitting these remaining monsters, so how could there be a problem? Within five minutes, they had killed the last monster. Lu Li was finally relieved as he told Remnant Dream that she could die now.
Soon, General Drakkisath was back.
He looked at his minions who had lost their lives in the fight, then turned towards the two guards that had come out of nowhere. It was quite easy to guess what had happened there.
“You are all dead men walking! I’m going to kill you all!”
Flamestorm – General Drakkisath summons a pillar of fire, instantly inflicting fire damage to all players within 15 yards of the target area with additional fire damage every 2 seconds for the next 8 seconds.
The Blackblade of Shahram was raised and a huge pillar of fire rose. The fire spread so quickly that it was inevitable that some of them would be hit.
Lu Li was also struck by this fire attack, but he was at the edge of its range so he only lost 1/3 of his HP. However, he continued to take four more ticks of fire damage.
March Rain quickly began to heal everyone.
This time, the healer responsible for healing the Main Tank was Darkness. This girl was quite high levelled, and if she just kept at eye on the Main Tank it would be very difficult for him to die under normal circumstances.
If the Main Tank was one-shot, then the healer wouldn’t have had a chance to heal them anyway, and that would be an exceptional circumstance.
March Rain was then responsible for the rest of the group. No one died because of Flamestorm, but Lu Li noticed something that made him anxious. They couldn’t heal these two guards. This meant that Lu Li and others had to end the battle before the guards lost all their HP.
They were two scouts, so their specialty was to hide and gather information. If they had such high attack power, then they would naturally have lower defence and less HP.
If the Boss regularly cast this Firestorm skill, they would only have 15 minutes.
“Healers, make sure you do your jobs well – everyone needs to stay alive. We need to do this in one go,” Lu Li reminded everyone after observing the situation and consciously adjusting his position.
The others didn’t quite understand why Lu Li said that, but he was too lazy to explain.
If General Drakkisath released Flamestorm, then they would suspect that he was a Fire Mage. However, that would be a big mistake, because this shameless guy was in fact a Warrior.
There was no Warrior worth their salt that didn’t know Charge!
General Drakkisath’s Charge was obviously similar to the previous Orc Berserker. It didn’t result in just a stun or a knockdown, but it dealt a lot of damage and caused the target to fly back. They would receive further damage when landing, but this could be mitigated if the angle was favourable.
Lu Li immediately adjusted his position after seeing Azure Sea Breeze get Charged.
Unfortunately, Azure Sea Breeze still clipped him, which dealt significant damage to himself and Lu Li.
This knockback actually managed to hurt two players, and moreover, it was double damage. Lu Li lost most than half of his HP, because his profession didn’t have very strong resistance. If he didn’t have enough HP, there was a chance that he could have instantly died.
“Everyone make sure you adjust your position so that there isn’t a straight line between two people facing the Boss. As you can see, it deals a lot of damage if you hit each other,” Lu Li instructed, using his past-life’s experience. Most people would assume that he had intentionally experimented on himself anyway.
The Boss cast Charge at random intervals and at random targets.
The second Charge was aimed at Sakura Memories. Fortunately, no one was in the way so there was no double damage.
The second phase’s key skill was Ignite.
Lu Li told Azure Sea Breeze to drink one of Marshall Maxwell’s Resistance Potion in advance. Although the attacks dealt a lot of damage, they didn’t reduce his Armor so he managed to barely hold on.
“Cast Bloodlust again! We need to fight faster – the guards won’t survive for much longer,” Lu Li said.
In fact, the second phase just needed to be completed as soon as possible. If they took too long, General Drakkisath would start casting a stronger version of Ignite, and even the Resistance Potion wouldn’t be enough.
