Chapter 103 Li Qianqian’s Ask for Help

When she saw Lin Huai staring at her, Song Ke’er blushed and uttered, “Why are you staring at me… Oh, by the way, from the way you guys were talking I figured that Liang Jingyu’s father seems to be a powerful person. The West Heavenly King sounds really formidable. If they realize that you’re not Xuan Yuzhai, will they finally find fault with you?”

As her thoughts continued running, Song Ke’er became even more worried. “It’s all my fault. I landed you into trouble.”

Lin Huai laughed as he consoled her, “I court trouble everywhere I go. I’m in deep trouble anyway. Having one extra problem makes no difference.”

Lin Huai had already thought about it after offending the West Heavenly King. He was just going to put himself under the patronage of Thunder God and if he was in real trouble, there would naturally be someone above him to take care of it. Plus, Thunder God happened to be trying to win him over lately, so he could use him to tackle the other two forces. He would definitely not allow the West Heavenly King to mess with Lin Huai.

Song Ke’er said worryingly, “It’s all my fault. Sigh!”

Lin Huai teased, “Don’t tell me that you’re really thinking about offering yourself to me.”

Song Ke’er blushed slightly and shyly said, “You talk frivolously, but I know that you’re a good and decent person.”

Oh great! I’ve just been friendzoned. Even though I really want to, I’ll be too embarrassed to tease you now. Lin Huai said in a decent manner, “Of course. It’s my pleasure to help others. Let’s not talk about it anymore as it’s not a big deal.”

Song Ke’er looked envious. “It’s really hard to meet a good, decent person like you, Brother Lin Huai!”

Lin Huai thought to himself, That’s because you don’t really know me. Once you get to know me well enough, you’ll know that I’m a good person, but not as decent as you think I am.

The two of them talked about a bunch of random things and the more they talked, the happier they felt. Song Ke’er was good-looking, but she had a gentle personality, unlike other pretty girls who liked to put on airs. Hence, Lin Huai was happy to talk to her.

The two of them talked on and on, and before they knew it, more than two hours had passed. Lin Huai took a look at his phone and smiled. “Let me escort you back to your school.”

“Okay.” Song Ke’er looked at Lin Huai and shyly said, “Will you be coming over to find me again? You’ve helped me a great deal and I really should be treating you to a few more meals.”

A thought struck Lin Huai. Looks like Song Ke’er has taken a liking to me, and she probably has a crush on me. I’m not mentally ready yet, but I can’t stop myself from wanting to get closer to this girl. This is so frustrating. Am I being a jerk?

Lin Huai was unsure so he said, “We shall see. I will go and find you whenever I’m free.”

“Oh.” Song Ke’er looked a little disappointed. However, she then smiled and said, “Well, you promised that you’ll find me when there’s time. So, make sure to keep your promise, okay?”

“Yes, of course.”

“That’s great!” Song Ke’er was happy again. Both of them walked out and Song Ke’er went to pay the bill at the cashier. After that, they left the restaurant and Lin Huai escorted Song Ke’er all the way back to her college.

Just then, his phone started ringing. Lin Huai picked up his phone to see who was calling and it was from Li Qianqian. The corners of his mouth lifted at once. Although now he had a few women around him, the only one he could make out with was Li Qianqian.

Lin Huai picked up the call and said with a smile, “What’s the matter, Qianqian?”

“Are you free tonight?”

“Wow! Straight to the point, huh? Are you getting impatient? I can go over now, you know?” Lin Huai teased.

“Well, come over now then.”

Lin Huai asked, “Are you in the office or at home?”

“I’m at home. My period came today and I’m feeling a little bit under the weather so I took a medical leave.”

“Oh…” Lin Huai felt a little disappointed.

Li Qianqian coyly giggled. “What are you thinking about? I just said that I have my period. What are you so disappointed about?”

Lin Huai playfully teased, “I’m just sorry for you.”

“Hehe. If my period did not come, that’ll be troublesome. It’ll be a sign that there is something wrong with my body.”

“Yeah! That’s true. You must be feeling really uncomfortable right now. I’ll go over to have a look at you,” Lin Huai said.

After Lin Huai ended the call, he wondered if Li Qianqian had any brown sugar at her house. However, he did not want to call her just to ask her that. There was a supermarket nearby and it would be better to buy it there and bring it over. Even if she had some at home, she could always keep it for later.

Lin Huai arrived at the supermarket in no time. After he bought the brown sugar, he also got a variety of fruits. Then, he went to Li Qianqian’s house by car. When she opened the door, Li Qianqian’s face looked pale.

Lin Huai could not give a damn about being disappointed anymore. He was feeling sorry for Li Qianqian and asked, “Is it really bad?”

“Yeah. My body has always been unwell every time I have my period. Come in.” Li Qianqian quietly heaved a sigh.

When she noticed that Lin Huai was holding a bag of fruits and a packet of brown sugar, her face instantly blushed and she was feeling extremely delighted inside.

Li Qianqian sat on the sofa and sounded a little tired as she said, “I can’t entertain you as I’m feeling a little unwell. Just drink or eat anything you want. There’s everything here.”

Lin Huai smiled as he nagged her, “Why are you sitting here when you’re feeling unwell? Hurry and get back to bed to lie down.”

Li Qianqian jokingly pointed out, “I’m just being polite. Would it make sense if I’m lying in bed when there’s a guest?”

Lin Huai was grinning as he asked, “You consider me as a guest?”

Li Qianqian’s face was blushing. Then, she stood up and laughed. “True enough. I won’t be entertaining you then.”

“Okay. Go lie down in bed. I’ll make you some brown sugar drinks.”

“Okay.”

“By the way, have you taken lunch?”

“I have. Just a bowl of instant noodles.”

“You’re really… Couldn’t you just wait for me to come over and cook for you? ” Lin Huai’s heart was aching a little. “Go get some rest. Do you want me to help you?”

“No need. I’m not that weak yet.” Li Qianqian walked to the entrance to her room and turned to take a look at Lin Huai before entering her room.

Normally, Lin Huai would have taken that as a sign of Li Qianqian’s invitation for coitus, but not today.

Lin Huai went to the kitchen to make brown sugar drinks. After blowing until it cooled down a little, he carefully carried the bowl into Li Qianqian’s bedroom and placed it on the bedside table.

“Qianqian, wake up and have a drink. It’ll make you feel a little better.”

“Okay.” Li Qianqian sat up and was about to take the bowl when suddenly, Lin Huai snatched it from her.

“You don’t need to do it yourself. Let me feed you.” Lin Huai held the bowl in his hand as he scooped a spoonful of the brown sugar drinks and placed it beside his lips to gently blow on it. Then, he passed it over to her and softly said, “Come on.”

Li Qianqian let out a soft sigh. “I never thought that I’d have a day like this, that a guy would come over to take care of me during my period.”

Lin Huai smiled. “Well, you’ll have me from now on.”

Li Qianqian looked at Lin Huai and grumbled, “It’s a pity that you’re so young.”

Lin Huai said with a serious look, “Guys hate it when other people talk about their size.”

“Tsk! You’re so dirty and just know how to talk nonsense.”

Lin Huai was smiling. “Stop playing around and quickly drink up.”

Li Qianqian shyly said, “You’re the one who’s been playing around.”

Lin Huai started feeding Li Qianqian spoonful by spoonful and once she finished drinking the bowl of the brown sugar drink, her face looked slightly ruddier than before. Her complexion looked much better as well.

Lin Huai put the bowl to one side. “Qianqian, you should get some good rest at home today.”

“No way. You need to accompany me somewhere later.”

“Where do you want to go?” Lin Huai asked. “If you have an errand to run, I can help you.”

“I do have an errand, but unfortunately, going by yourself won’t do.” Li Qianqian hesitated for a moment, then asked, “Can you accompany me to a gathering later?”

“A gathering?” Lin Huai laughed. “Why not? With your body like this, I can take care of you while accompanying you to a gathering.”

Li Qianqian added, “I need you to pretend to be my boyfriend later.”

Lin Huai understood then. He did not expect to meet with such a situation again today. I was used as a cover earlier and now I’m going to be used as a cover again. Although I helped Song Ke’er whom I did not know just now, Li Qianqian is my woman, so what other possible reason do I have to reject her?

Hence, Lin Huai reassured her with confidence, “No problem. Leave it to me. I’ll make sure not to embarrass you.”

Li Qianqian happily said, “Well then, thank you. I have a class gathering to attend tonight and it’s organised by one of my female classmates. She specifically urged me to join the gathering no matter what. It will be held in the lobby of a hotel near University City. You’ll just have to accompany me for a while and eat a little. Then, we can leave early.”

Lin Huai said with a smile, “Tell me honestly. Is someone pursuing you?”

“Erm…” Li Qianqian let out a sigh. “Well, no. It was mainly because of the girl who pursued my ex-boyfriend back then. Now the two of them are together.”

When talking about her ex-boyfriend, Li Qianqian carefully stole a glance at Lin Huai as she was worried that he would get angry.

Lin Huai said in a serious tone, “Li Qianqian oh Li Qianqian, you’re saying this all wrong!”

“What do you mean by less awkward to pretend to be partners? It’s impossible for us to be awkward!”

Li Qianqian burst into laughter and coyly said, “What a jerk! All you do is tease me!”
