Chapter 114 Li Caier’s Death

Lin Huai grabbed onto the waiter’s collar and angrily asked, “How is that possible? Why did she go crazy?”

The waiter was spooked by Lin Huai’s terrifying look. In a trembling voice, he replied, “But-But it’s true, she really went crazy.”

“Where is she now?”

“She-She was taken away.” The waiter gulped and cautiously said, “I can bring you there.”

Lin Huai took a deep breath and barely calmed himself down. He coldly said, “Bring me there.”

Then, he let go of the waiter’s collar.

The waiter led the way and Lin Huai followed behind. Li Liner’s legs gave away but fortunately Lin Huai supported her in time. Although Lin Huai was also very pessimistic, he could not help but console her when he saw how depressed and lost she was. He said, “Don’t worry, don’t worry. Everything will be okay. He must be talking nonsense or maybe your sister is just in a bad mood and they misunderstood the situation.”

“Yes, that must be the case.” Li Liner’s expression became better and murmured to herself, “My sister must be in a bad mood. Let me talk to her and she will feel better.”

The waiter brought Lin Huai and Li Liner to the second floor. Manager Fan was smoking there. When he saw Lin Huai and Li Liner, he was stunned for a brief moment. Then with an awkward smile on his face, he asked, “Brother Huai, why are you here?”

“I want to pay a visit to Li Caier.” Lin Huai suppressed the anger within his heart. After all, the parlor was managed by Thunder God’s people and he planned to go undercover as well. Thus, he could not let loose and reveal his actual emotions.

Manager Fan looked at Li Liner and sighed. He said, “Okay. If that is the case. Follow me.”

Manager Fan led the way and he continuously sighed. He said, “Brother Huai, there is no need for you to head over. Letting her sister go alone is good enough.”

Upon hearing that, Lin Huai’s heart sank. He knew that things were dire. However, Lin Huai still suppressed his anger and calmly said, “It’s okay, let’s head over.”

The few of them arrived at the entrance of the room and there was a bodyguard outside the room. Thundering noises of someone slamming on the door could be heard. Lin Huai grabbed the door handle and twisted it open. Then his eyeballs nearly popped out and he almost stopped breathing. Instead of the beautiful and innocent-looking girl he saw last night, he saw a girl with blood all over her forehead and her hair was in a mess. Her clothes was torn and multiple bruises could be seen on her body. And most important, the look in her eyes. The look was dreadful and the only way that someone would have such a look would be after going through something very awful.

Lin Huai stared at Manager Fan. He gave a bitter smile to him and said, “She’s bleeding because she smashed her own head against the door.”

Li Liner burst out into tears and ran to hug Li Caier. She cried out, “Sister, sister, what happened to you? Sister!”

“You are a devil! Ah, ah, ah! You are a devil!” Li Caier sounded so creepy that it made their hair stand. She screeched while her entire body was trembling. Lin Huai could not bear listening to her cries or look at the state she was in. His heart shuddered. What did she go through last night? How did things turn out this way?

Li Liner cried out. “Sister, don’t be like that! I am Liner, your sister. What happened? Please dont scare me.”

Li Caier pushed Li Liner. She turned and ran toward the corner of the room while screaming. “Don’t come closer. Please, stay away. It’s not that I don’t want to accompany you nor do I dislike you. I am sorry, I am sorry…”

Li Caier ran and Li Liner chased after her. Li Caier looked a little demented and it did seem like she went crazy,

Manager Fan cautiously said, “Brother Huai, do you mind if we move over there and talk?”

Lin Huai looked very solemn. He was depressed but nodded and said, “Sure.”

Lin Huai followed Manager Fan and they walked quite a distance before Manager Fan whispered to Lin Huai. “Not long after you left, Big Boss Lei brought Li Caier away. I think Li Caier pissed Big Boss Lei off for some unknown reason. Sigh, the wounds on her body were all caused by Big Boss Lei’s beating. After all, he is the big boss so I suggest that you stay away from this pair of twins. That way you would avoid upsetting him. Other than his Red Canes, I have never seen Big Boss Lei bringing someone over here to relax. Thus, it shows that he really thinks very highly of you. It’s not worth it to risk your future for these two girls.”

Lin Huai said, “I want to bring both of them out from here.”

Manager Fan frowned and said, “These two girls are valued at four hundred thousand. Although Li Caier had gone crazy and we might have to toss her out, Li Liner would still be a good option. Brother Huai, I know you are someone that Big Boss Lei thinks highly of but your request is out of my control.”

“I will talk to Big Boss Lei.”

“I knew you took pity on the both of them and that’s why I chose to give you advice. You might not fully understand Big Boss Lei’s temper and character. It’s better to stay away from the people that have offended Big Boss Lei.”

“I understand and I will not force the issue.” Lin Huai loathed Thunder God down to the core but there was nothing he could do for now. There might be a huge possibility that he could kill him but there were so many men within his gang. Furthermore, his plan was to lay low and go undercover into the gang. That way he would be able to check how many illegal and unlawful things that had been done by their gang. For example, if Thunder God had died, he would not be able to find out that there was a parlor in the Chengbei District.

Lin Huai sighed and all of a sudden he heard a loud screeching sound of someone shouting. Lin Huai’s heart skipped a beat. He quickly turned and ran towards the room. By the time he rushed into the room, Lin Huai gaped and was shocked. His body trembled and he shouted as loud as he could. “Ambulance, hurry and call an ambulance!”

Li Caier was lying on the ground, blood gushing out from her forehead. Her body was twitching and there was a patch of blood on the wall. Li Caier actually smashed her head into the wall.

Li Liner was kneeling in front of Li Caier. She was weeping and could not say anything.

Li Caier, on the other hand, looked calmer. She was no longer in a frantic state of distress. Instead, she gently lifted her hand and wiped the tears off Li Liner’s face. She forced out a smile and said, “Don’t cry. I am leaving so take good care of yourself…”

“Sister, sister don’t leave me alone. Sister, I am so scared… I am so scared, sister.”

Tears were also flowing down Li Caier’s face. “I am also scared because I can no longer protect you.”

“Why… Why?” Li Liner cried out. “Why did you do this?”

Li Caier shook her head and seemed like she did not want to talk about it. Lin Huai understood Li Caier’s intention. She was afraid of dragging her sister down as she was afraid that her sister would go and seek revenge on behalf of her.

Li Liner cried non-stop. Li Caier’s body twitched and her eyes started to lose it’s glow. Lin Huai could tell that even if Hua Tuo(a famous doctor of traditional Chinese medicine) was alive, he would not still not be able to save her. Lin Huai had amazing medical skills but even under such circumstances, he was helpless.

Li Caier gently said, “I can no longer take care of you. I can’t rest in peace…”

Lin Huai suppressed his sadness and pain while walking forward. With a deep voice, he said, “I will take care of her. I am going to bring her out of this place later. I will prevent her from getting bullied.”

Li Caier’s eyes brimmed with vitality and all of a sudden she appeared energetic. She used all of her remaining strength to look at Lin Huai and let out a smile. She murmured, “Liner is lucky to have met you…”

Li Caier’s eyes shut completely. At the very least, Lin Huai helped address her concerns prior to her death which would allow her to rest in peace.

Li Liner could not stop crying. She lied on Li Caier’s body, weeping and crying in pain.

Lin Huai sighed and then turned around to look at Manager Fan. He said, “I am going to bring her away from here. I cannot let her stay here any longer. I know she owes you all a lot of money but now that her sister is dead, do you think there is any purpose in making her stay? What is a zombie going to do for you all?”

Manager Fan hesitated and said, “Well…”

As a matter of fact, Lin Huai was right. Even if Li Liner was forced to stay, she would probably be like a zombie after suffering from such a huge blow. However, Manager Fan was not willing to let her leave just like that.

Just as Manager Fan was thinking about it, all of a sudden, a bellowing noise could be heard from the entrance. Thunder God walked in and loudly asked, “Are you really going to bring a woman that hates me with you?”

Lin Huai looked at Thunder God and saw that there were a few henchmen tailing behind him. He exuded a majestic demeanour and looked extremely gloomy and scary. He no longer had a smile on unlike yesterday. It was clear that Lin Huai’s decision pissed him off.

If it was anyone else, they would have immediately yielded to Thunder God. However, Lin Huai could not bring himself to do so.

He seriously replied, “Big Boss Lei, her sister is already dead and that’s enough. I connected with her last night so I want to bring her with me.”

Thunder God gave Lin Huai a horrifying stare. It was as if there was thunder roaring and lighting flashing through his eyes. He was rather furious at Lin Huai.

Lin Huai took a deep breath and continued, “Big Boss Lei, even if you are really mad, I still have to tell you this. I am a person that values loyalty and brotherhood. I am grateful for your help but Liner spent the entire night accompanying me. Not only did we have sex, we also spent the night talking. Now that her sister turned out this way, I cannot bear leaving her to stay in this place.”

“I know that if I bring her away, the parlor would suffer a huge loss. However, because of that I am willing to owe Big Boss Lei a huge favor. Eventually in the future, there would be a time for me to repay this favor.”

Lin Huai sounded sonorous and confident. Thunder God’s gaze was no longer gloomy as before especially after hearing the last few sentences of what Lin Huai said. He was deep in thought for a while before he said, “You know that she hates me. Thus, if you got too close to her, it’s going to be hard for me to trust you. Don’t you think it’s not worth it?”

Lin Huai said, “I do think it’s not worth it, especially just for a woman. However, if I choose not to do this, I wouldn’t be Lin Huai anymore. Big Boss Lei, I recalled that last night you mentioned the fact that you admired my character. If I really gave up on her, would you still admire me?”

Thunder God took a deep breath and burst out laughing. “Good, good! Good job of twisting your words to trap me. You are right about that but I am more concerned with benefits and profits. If she stays by your side, there will be one day where she tries to instigate a fight between us. That would affect your loyalty towards me. However this time around, I will allow you to do so!”

Lin Huai was delighted and asked, “Really?”

“Yes, but you have to remember that you owe me a huge favor. Someday down the road I would eventually make you return the favor.” Thunder God squinted his eyes as he looked at Li Liner who was kneeling down on the ground and sobbing. He snorted and said, “I have conquered and dominated Chengbei for many years. If I end up being afraid of a young girl then I don’t deserve to continue living anymore. Manager Fan, let them leave.”

Manager Fan did not dare to offend Thunder God so he quickly agreed, “Yes.”

At the same time, he stared at Lin Huai in shock. He had never seen anyone that dared to rebuke and go against Thunder God like just now. If it was anyone else, they would have probably been beaten to death by now. Lin Huai’s status in his mind rose rapidly.

Thunder God turned and left. He unhappily said, “I am going to leave now. So frustrating!”

Just as Thunder God turned around, Li Liner happened to lift her head at the exact same moment as well. She stared with immense hatred at Thunder God. Lin Huai quickly shifted his body and covered up Li Liner’s view. He stood right in between Li Liner and Thunder God.

Thunder God turned again but this time he could not see the hatred look from Li Liner as she had been blocked by Lin Huai. He looked at Lin Huai and said, “Go back home first. I suggest that you don’t go to college for now and remain by my side to work for me.”

Lin Huai nodded his head and said, “Sure, no problem.”

“Alright then.” Thunder God then turned around and left.

Manager Fan softly whispered, “I shall go and send Big Boss Lei off. Sigh, Big Boss Lei thinks very highly of you. However, don’t do such things next time. It’s too risky.”

Manager Fan stared intensely at Lin Huai before leaving.

By then, the only person left in the room was Li Liner. Lin Huai walked over and gently hugged Li Liner on the shoulders. In a tender voice, he said, “I know you are upset but can we bring your sister with us and bury her first?”

“Yes, sure.” Li Liner nodded her head and agreed while sobbing.
