Chapter 119 Lin Huai’s Elite Management Team

Lin Huai said, “To be honest, I am not an exceptionally great person. Being in a relationship means that you have to open yourself up. Hurting someone is the worst thing ever. For somebody who is hurt, it might take him or her a few years or even their entire lifetime to recover. However if it was just purely sex, the only connection between the guy and girl is the temporary sexual enjoyment. That way nobody would be hurt. That’s why I said those things back then as I had no plans to take responsibility and because I had not fallen for you. However, if I agree to date you and you actually fall for me in the future but I end up hurting you, what am I supposed to do?”

Liu Meiqi bitterly smiled and said, “Yeah, I did not expect to actually fall for you as well. Back then I was just planning to flirt with you because I was not happy that you weren’t attracted to me. However to my surprise, I actually fell for you.”

Lin Huai said, “Therefore, I made the right decision of rejecting you. However, what I did not expect was that even so I still hurt your feelings. Actually… It’s not that I completely didn’t have feelings for you. In fact, I feel like if we had really gotten to know each other, I might have really fallen in love with you even to the point where I can’t leave you.”

Liu Meiqi’s eyes lit up and Lin Huai continued, “However that wouldn’t work anymore. Before things escalate to that point, we should stay away from each other. Now I already have someone I love, and that is Wei Qimian. I can’t possibly hurt her just because I want to enjoy the sexual act with you. That would mean I am a scumbag.”

Liu Meiqi said, “Alright, I understand. That’s why I don’t hate you at all.”

Lin Huai said, “I believe you will meet someone better than me in the future.”

Liu Meiqi bitterly smiled and said, “Is that really possible? It is possible to meet someone better than you but is it as simple to meet someone you love? Haha, I have been with so many guys in the past but I never fell for any of them. Now I finally fall in love with someone yet things didn’t work out. Would it be so easy to fall for someone else in the future?”

Lin Huai was speechless as he had no answers to her question.

“Brother Huai, don’t worry I won’t put you in a tough spot. However I will wait for you. At the very least, until I fall for someone else, I will keep waiting for you. In the event that you break up with Wei Qimian or when you realize that you both no longer love each other, I would definitely continue courting you. I want to make you mine.”

Lin Huai stared at Liu Meiqi and said, “I will feel hurt seeing you like this.”

Liu Meiqi suddenly tiptoed and kissed Lin Huan on the lips. Lin Huai was stunned. He planned to struggle and get out of it but when he saw the bitterness in her eyes, he could not bring himself to do so. In his heart, he sighed and responded to Liu Meiqi’s kissing. No matter what, today was a happy ending for Liu Meiqi. At the very least, it would leave her a beautiful memory. Perhaps it left Lin Huai with a beautiful memory as well.

They kissed for a couple of minutes before eventually separating. Liu Meiqi suddenly grinned and said, “If Wei Qimian accidentally saw this, would she break up with you angrily?”

Lin Huai was shocked. He quickly spun around and took a look. Due to the fact that classes had begun, there was nobody behind him.

Liu Meiqi chuckled and said, “Don’t worry, I am not a despicable person. Even if I wanted to get you, I wouldn’t instigate any problems on the both of you. Instead, I would make you succumb and fall for me. Goodbye, I will make a move first.”

Lin Huai smiled and said, “Alright. Liu Meiqi, no matter what happens in the future, you would always be one of my closest friends.”

Liu Meiqi chuckled and laughed. She said, “More like friends with benefits? Are you sure you don’t have any perverted thoughts when you see me and you are not enticed at all? Hahaha…”

Liu Meiqi turned and ran off. Lin Huai was stunned. He thought about what Liu Meiqi said and realized that it made sense. That’s true! I seemed to have fallen for her as well. Do I really have no second thoughts whenever I see her? I doubt so.

Lin Huai shook his head and sighed. Maybe this is what it feels like when it’s not meant to be.

Lin Huai returned to his classroom. When morning classes came to an end, Lin Huai gathered all the leaders of Yulan College and informed them about the fact that he won’t be coming to college on a daily basis anymore, that he would instead be working for Thunder God. To his surprise, all of them were practically envious of him. However on further thought, their dreams back then in college was to be a part of the three huge forces of Chengbei District.

Lin Huai stared at how excited they looked and solemnly said, “I have to let you know that you all better focus on studying and not think about all this nonsense. Do you understand?”

Dao Zi coldly said, “There is no way I can focus on studying anymore. I am leaving with you.”

Lin Huai was stunned.

Dao Zi coldly said, “Do you think it’s possible for me to survive in any career field other than the underworld?”

Lin Huai visualized how Dao Zi would put on a cold look all day when he entered the working world. Someday his supervisor would criticize him and he would just take out a knife and stab his supervisor. Lin Huai shuddered at such thoughts.

A few other leaders in their final year also stood up and said, “Brother Huai, there is no point for the few of us to continue staying in college anymore as well. We are already in our final year of college and for the past three years we had not studied at all. It’s not possible to catch up on three years of study just like that. Bring us along with you to the underworld.”

Lin Huai had a slight frown on his face and was hesitant.

Just then, Pu Chengji suddenly walked over and leaned in to Lin Huai and whispered, “Brother Huai, do you think that Thunder God roped you in purely because of your personal capabilities? If you don’t bring a few more people with you, do you think Thunder God will be able to tolerate that? The only reason he didn’t bring it up is because he wants you to realize this yourself.”

Lin Huai thought about it and realized that it made sense. Even for Gao Mengchao who is joining the Rakshasha Gang, she must have brought a bunch of her senior year friends along. It would be the same case for me. If I joined Thunder Gang by myself, would Thunder God think so highly of me? He had even promised to help me to resolve the problems with West Heavenly King as well as allowing me to bring Li Liner with me. Thus, if I chose not to bring these people with me, Thunder God would eventually force me to do so. The only reason he didn’t voice it out was that he wanted to see if I was loyal to him.

Sigh!

Lin Huai looked at the senior year students. Since that was the case and it was true that the final year students are unable to focus on their studies anymore, I might as well bring them along with me. The freshmen could definitely focus on their studies, the sophomores would still be able to make it as well. The third year students on the other hand would barely be able to keep up even if they took any last minute actions, let alone the final year students.

Lin Huai nodded and said to the few leaders, “After this, go back and ask your brothers from the final year and see if any of them are interested in leaving together with me. Everyone can sign up and from there you all can pick the most elite people to leave with me. Bear in mind that you all shouldn’t choose men who do not have the guts to fight and kill people. Otherwise, they would not be able to survive out in the underworld, and it would be pointless.”

The few leaders all agreed in excitement. “Yes, Brother Huai.”

Lin Huai gave a slight nod and said, “Alright then, that’s all for today. You all don’t have to rush. Take your time to choose as I still have something to do tomorrow. I will organize a welcoming banquet on the day after tomorrow to welcome you all. Just bring along guys that will be leaving with me on that day.”

All of them rubbed their palms together in excitement while smiling happily.

Lin Huai smiled and said, “That’s all for today. I will make a move later in the afternoon as I still have something on back home.”

Lin Huai wanted to accompany Li Liner despite Wei Qimian being his girlfriend and he should be accompanying her instead. Lin Huai was still not at ease with leaving Li Liner on her own as she had just lost her sister.

All of them agreed and then left.

During lunch break, Lin Huai went to the principal’s office and informed him about the fact that he would not be regularly coming to college anymore. He also informed the principal to retain his status as a student of his class as well as his room in the dormitory. The principal was helpless against Lin Huai so he had no choice but to agree. It was instead a good thing for him that Lin Huai left the college. After all, he felt extremely pressured due to the improved discipline of the students.

After that, Lin Huai looked for Wei Qimian. Both of them sat on the flower bed and chatted for a while. During their conversation, Lin Huai constantly took advantage of her. He would caress her legs, hug her by the waist and even sneak in a few kisses here and there.

When classes resumed, Wei Qimian returned to the classroom whereas Lin Huai left the college. He went to the wet market, got some groceries and returned home.

When he reached home, Li Liner was not around. Lin Huai headed over to the kitchen to prepare dinner. By the time dinner was ready, Li Liner returned home.

Upon seeing Lin Huai, the exhausted look on her face changed and she let out a smile. Lin Huai asked, “Where have you been? It’s good that you went out and walked around.”

Li Liner embarrassingly said, “Yup. I said that I was going to cook for you on a daily basis yet today you are the one that made dinner. From tomorrow onwards you don’t have to start cooking so early. I will cook for you.”

Lin Huai smiled and said, “It’s fine. I’m free anyways. I am not going to college anymore so I might as well.”

“You are not going back… Such a waste.”

Lin Huai smiled and said, “I have already informed the college and they will retain my status as a student. I will still head back there once in a while.”

Li Liner sighed and said, “All because of Big Boss Lei?” Li Liner looked gloomy once Thunder God’s name was mentioned.

Lin Huai shook his head and said, “It’s not just because of him However, in order for us to gain revenge, I have to blend in and gain his trust.”

Li Liner agreed but was still in a rather solemn mood. However right after that, she realized that she should not let her emotions affect Lin Huai so she smiled and said, “Brother Huai, I have successfully gotten a job already. From tomorrow onwards I can go and work. By then, I would be able to help and cover certain household expenses. I can be in charge of buying groceries and miscellaneous items.”

Lin Huai’s heart ached and he said, “Going to work so soon? Don’t you want to rest for a while more? You have been exhausted the past few days.”

Li Liner said, “It’s okay. I have rested enough already.”

Lin Huai asked, “What are you going to be working as?”

Li Liner hesitated but then she still put on a smile and said, “As a waitress in a restaurant. I don’t have high academic qualifications so I couldn’t find a lucrative job. But it’s okay because even though I am a normal waitress now, I could be promoted to a supervisor in the future. Eventually down the road, I might even be able to become a manager. All I have to do is work hard.”

Lin Huai’s heart ached even more. He acknowledged and gently said, “Here, let’s dig in and celebrate!”
